|Curt Stoller commented on CATHOLIC WORLD REPORT GIVES US AN INTERESTING INSIGHT INTO THE PLIGHT OF PRIESTS FALSELY ACCUSED
Lutheran Russell Saltzman wrote an interesting article on SNAP entitled “SNAP is No Fit Advocate for Sexual Abuse Victims” [First Things, 10-13-2011]. He prefaces his remarks by saying that “he is a Lutheran with no axe to grind against the Catholic Church.” His conclusion is that “(SNAP) is a noisy little group that hates the Roman Catholic Church and has found a way of living off of the victimization others have suffered.” He speaks of his personal experience with the group and its connection to lawyers groups.
I did an internet search of sexual abuse survivor groups and what I didn’t find was more interesting than what I did find. I found no groups called SNAB [Survivors Network for those Abused by Boy Scout Leaders]. Nor did I find any groups organized to help survivors of abuse by school teachers, counselors, law enforcement and correctional officers. Nor were there any organized groups for those victimized by physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists and mental health professionals. Strange considering that in many cases these groups account for more cases of sexual abuse than any others. Interesting that there are no groups formed for minors sexually abused by United States Senators or Congressmen.
Let’s leave that for the moment and consider something else. We know that all the currently available birth control pills are abortifacient [baby killing substances]. I wonder how many American families use these drugs? There are no victim groups for these children murdered in the womb, at least none where the victims themselves can be present at the meetings.
