SCIENCE CATCHING UP WITH CATHOLOCISM?

!!!!

Curt Stoller commented on WE ARE IN A WAR FOR THE SURVIVAL OF THE REPUBLIC

To paraphrase a saying from His Holiness Pope Paul VI, “you can break a glass, but you can’t put it back together again.” Liberals of the Christian variety want to remove certain “pieces” of Christian doctrine to “improve” it, but it is amazing how cataclysmic are the effects of such so-called benign removals. Original Sin and sin in general cannot be removed from Christianity without destroying the whole thing. Small, seemingly harmless mutations give birth to monstrosities and atrocities. One cannot remove the harsher sayings of Jesus without destroying His entire teaching. The doctrine of individual private judgment may have sounded good on paper but look what we have now in both the sacred and secular realm: anarchy, license posing as liberty and seeking to justify every imaginable evil.

Think how benign sounding is the doctrine of salvation by faith alone without good works. Then consider how salvation by faith alone played into the hands of Adolf Hitler? If I am saved by faith alone, why do I need to love the Jews, the Poles, the Czechs, Gypsies, deformed children and the unwell elderly? What concern is it to my salvation if the whole lot of them are sent to death camps? If I am saved by faith alone, what does it matter to me if my countrymen line up Russian men, women and children, force them to dig mass graves and then machine gun them. And if I am saved by faith alone, why should I love the unborn children of God who are slaughtered daily? Removing things from Christianity in the name of liberalizing it has grave and I mean literally grave consequences!

Liberals have this “certitude” that modern speculative thinking is truth and that Christianity is always in need of modernizing and “catching up?” One can still remember the mass dissent that followed Pope Pope VI’s Encyclical “Humanae Vitae.” Paul VI was depicted as a hopelessly out of touch old man, a man betraying modern Catholicism and the “spirit” of Vatican II in the name of his own misguided Puritanism or Manicheanism. But now we know the truth. The birth control pill in use by millions worldwide is an abortifacient. It kills God’s children in the womb. It is a murdering tool. Now it is science that is catching up to Catholicism, isn’t it? But to say that science catches up to Catholicism, that is something absolutely anathema to liberalism.
