A great book to read concerning what goes through the minds of animals is”Watchers” by
Dean Koontz. Of course it is fiction, but…….
I say this with a smile, and I do sympathize for the baby lambs, wee rabbits, other endearing prey, but it was ‘your Boss’ Who made up the order of nature. Not changing the subject, but I read somewhere that St. Augustine hesitated about believing in a good God because he couldn’t get his mind around a good God creating such things as cockroaches, rats and other nasty vermin. (It will be one of my questions too though… down toward the bottom.)
Love Pyrennes Mountain dogs…..
Vera,
I was not present to witness the encounter between “little coyote” and Big Mama and so I do not know the cause of death. It is possible that when confronted by that monstrous Great Pyrennes Dog he simply died of fright. Normally I would have great sympathy for any member of the Canis family, but after seeing what they do with little lambs it is difficult to have much sympathy.

That poor little coyote is so sickly and starved looking – did big Momma step on him, or did he just collapse and die at her feet?
(I know they’re considered to be “pests” but I can’t help being sorry for the “under-dog”, so to speak.)
