Canon Law no. 212 says (LINK):

The Christian faithful are free to make known to the pastors of the Church their needs, especially spiritual ones, and their desires3. According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinionon matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful

What is so sad and that I saw,……..Parishioners in the local RC Diocese who, after the most recent financial downturn , who turned to their parish for help. One large family whose husband/breadwinner lost everything including his health asked to lease one of the homes the Diocese owned for this expressed purpose . Not anymore ! They are rented to anyone at the current rates. Or as one DRE told me .When parishioners with hungry families in bad financial straights call we have to tell them to just go apply at the local public food bank.
Too bad they aren’t illegal immigrants !!!

The Bishops in the USA also makes quite a bit from the FED by resettling illegal immigrants and providing them with health care.

  3. Well, I know this very well and I use this possibility sometimes, but even being a priest, adressing myself to my bishop, it is in vain.
You may ask why? That´s easy to explain. Church is interested in numbers and in money. With numbers we are equal, a few people are a few people in the USA and in Germany. But Germoney has got the church tax, the income is always the same by the state who pays priests and bishops very well. So holy mother church is not very afraid being in scandals.

We made our opinions known to the late Bishop Andrew Pitaki after our Mission Church pastor, a Fr James Koury, pointed to the Tabernacle on the altar during a homily and said ,”Don’t pray to God in the box because He is not there!” The Bishop then came to our little church dressed in his bejeweled vestments and crown and proceeded to chastise us from the pulpit. Later, he sold our mission church to Korean Evangelicals. A little over a year later, while visiting our now pretty much abandoned mother parish , the accountant there told us the priest stole all the rectory furniture and wiped out the church all the .accounts and that their parishioners had complained he came dressed as a woman to their parish dinners.
On one post I read it appears that the same fr James Koury is now secretary to the new Melkite Bishop.. So much for making your views known.
