From the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan to an influx of migrants at the southern border, Biden has suffered major setbacks

Just over eight months into office, President Biden is drowning in crises.

From immigration, to foreign policy, to the economy, to the coronavirus pandemic, the president’s problems appear to be mounting.

Afghanistan

Arguably the biggest crisis Biden is facing right now stems from his troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, during which 13 American service members were killed in Kabul.

Biden was quick to blame others for the botched operation that saw the Taliban swiftly take over the country as Afghan security forces crumbled and U.S. weapons and equipment were seized.

The Taliban flag flew over the former U.S. embassy in Kabul as Americans struggled to leave the country, while the Biden administration insisted it would be able to get every American citizen out.https://lockerdome.com/lad/14227381762077798?pubid=ld-1562-9626&pubo=https%3A%2F%2Frepublicanupdate.com&rid=&width=730

This was untrue, as Americans scrambled to get on planes and flee over land routes to escape the war-torn nation. Congressional offices were slammed by people desperate to return home to America, turning to them because the State Department was unhelpful.

In addition to American citizens being stranded in Afghanistan, special immigrant visa (SIV) holders, green card holders and Afghan allies were left trapped in the Taliban-controlled country as the State Department prevented flights with refugees from landing in bordering nations.

Additionally, the Biden administration’s vetting process has been rife with error, with American citizens and others with ties to the U.S. government being left behind as thousands of people without ties to America were evacuated to the United States.

The chaotic withdrawal has seen disease outbreaks among refugees and the administration scrambling to settle them in America.

In another embarrassment, the Pentagon revealed recently that a drone strike carried out against terrorist targets hit innocent Afghans instead.

The border

Biden’s administration has all but turned a blind eye to the compounding crisis at the southern border, where hundreds of thousands of people have already illegally crossed into America this year alone.

On top of the hundreds of people being jam-packed into processing centers amid a global pandemic and the tens of thousands of migrants in a makeshift camp underneath an overpass in Del Rio, Texas, physical and sexual assaults of unaccompanied migrant children have been occurring at shocking rates in government-contracted facilities.

HHS documents first reported by Fox News on Wednesday illustrated the dark reality faced by some migrant children, with 33 instances of “sexual abuse” against unaccompanied minors tied to voluntary agencies contracting with the federal government.

Additionally, Biden is claiming to have visited the southern border but has never made the trek down in his entire political career.

Vice President Kamala Harris was tasked with addressing the root causes of the migrant surge and traveled to the border earlier this year after months of media scrutiny for avoiding a trip down south.

The economy

Congressional Democrats are working their tails off to pass Biden’s massive spending proposals. One of the biggest currently making its way through Congress has drawn warnings from Republicans, who say it will further increase inflation.

Federal unemployment benefits extended from the previous administration’s COVID-19 response have created a massive labor shortage in the U.S., with prices of goods and services rising because of it, as well as supply chain problems.

Proposed deficit-spending of another $3.5 trillion has spurred inflation fears, with alarms being sounded by many Republicans.

Additionally, the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus has prompted some states to float the idea of enacting coronavirus lockdowns again, despite the risk of severe economic consequences.

Delta variant

A crisis inherited from his predecessor, Biden’s response to the pandemic, let alone the currently dominant delta variant, has been rife with contradictions.

One of the most recent instances of the president flip-flopping in his COVID-19 response was his widely-panned vaccine mandate announcement for companies with over 100 employees.

Under the mandate, companies with more than 100 employees would be required to have all employees vaccinated or test negative weekly before returning to the office.

Biden had previously promised in December that there would not be a nationwide vaccine mandate, with his administration doubling down only two months before on the stance, saying the mandates were “not the role” of the federal government.

The announcement was met with fierce opposition from conservatives, who argue for public awareness of the vaccine but say medical decisions should not be mandated.

Additionally, Biden has been relying heavily on National Institute on Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Anthony Fauci, who has had his own share of flip-flops.

Recently released documents outlining National Institute of Health-funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China have put Fauci’s congressional testimony of no such research occurring under scrutiny.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a medical doctor, accused Fauci of lying to Congress last month over the bombshell report from the Intercept that revealed the U.S. government pumped $3.1 million into American health organization EcoHealth Alliance to back bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Leaked documents recently obtained by private research group DRASTIC “completely contradict” claims made by both China and Fauci about the reality of gain-of-function research being done inside the Wuhan institute that may have caused the coronavirus pandemic, according to a former State Department COVID-19 investigator.

Dr. David Asher, the ex-State Department official, told Fox News the biggest takeaway from the new documents is that there is a “smoking gun that explains the specific features of the [virus] sequence that are so peculiar.”

“The most genetically unusual piece of the puzzle and the sequence is a ‘furin cleavage site’, which allows the virus to spread from bats to humans, and among humans in a highly pathogenic way,” he said.

Republicans have been calling for Fauci to step down or be fired by the president over his handling of the pandemic.

A PARENTAL RIGHTS CASE IN KENTUCKY

State Takes Three-Month-Old Baby From His Parents Because They Refuse to End His Life Support

State  |  Wesley Smith  |   Sep 27, 2021   |   5:25PM   |  Louisville, Kentuckyhttps://www.facebook.com/v2.10/plugins/share_button.php?app_id=&channel=https%3A%2F%2Fstaticxx.facebook.com%2Fx%2Fconnect%2Fxd_arbiter%2F%3Fversion%3D46%23cb%3Df34728b9a189e8%26domain%3Dwww.lifenews.com%26is_canvas%3Dfalse%26origin%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.lifenews.com%252Ff9f976fd778212%26relation%3Dparent.parent&container_width=67&href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lifenews.com%2F2021%2F09%2F27%2Fstate-takes-three-month-old-baby-from-his-parents-because-they-refuse-to-end-his-life-support%2F&locale=en_US&sdk=joey&type=box_count14

Keaton Crull, a three-month-old baby from Indiana being treated in Kentucky, is about to be removed from life support over his parents’ objections. That’s because they no longer have a say. Their parental rights over his medical decisions were stripped–and it looks like that drastic step might have been taken because they refused to give up on him.

Keaton has a serious case of muscular dystrophy and has broken bones from birth that are not healing properly. He is on pain control. The doctors say that Keaton’s health is worsening and he won’t live a year, and so the life support is futile. But according to the parents, doctors previously said he would only live a month. These things can be very uncertain.

Doctors want to remove life support and the parents have no say. From the ABC57 story:

“They took custody of him on… I want to say the 22nd (August),” Kyle says.

According to confidential documents we obtained from a Kentucky Child Protective Services hearing, doctors at Norton claim the Crulls abandoned their son by being “minimally involved,” so the state of Kentucky took custody of Keaton, which gives the hospital the authority to make medical decision instead of the Crulls.

“They expect us to stay there with him 24/7 and we can’t,” Kyle explains. “We have other kids and bills and stuff like that that we have to maintain, so we made a decision, as a family, to go down there on the weekends,” Kyle says.

“I made the hospital aware that I would be working between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., so I couldn’t take every call that I got, especially being a new employee,” Jennifer says, adding her last job didn’t work out because of Keaton’s constant need for care…

“On the 29th (September), there’s going to be court and, basically, me and my wife have to give a defense of why our son should get this medicine and why we should continue to fight for his life and not give up on him,” Kyle says.

Hard cases make for bad decisions. The question is: Where should the benefit of the doubt be given? I say with family. A few points.

  • This is an example of “futile” or “inappropriate care,” a bioethics theory under which doctors or bioethicists are enabled to make the decision to stop life support instead of the patient or family. In Texas, this can be done directly. In this case, the right to decide was stripped from the parents by a court, and apparently given to the hospital–where it doesn’t belong. This is not the first such case of parents stripped of their custody over such disputes–as I documented in my book Culture of DeathThe Age of ‘Do Harm’ Medicine.
  • From what I can tell in the story, the doctors took this action because the Crulls refused to do what they wanted. Had they agreed to pull the plug, I doubt protective services would ever have been called.
  • But the excruciating decision whether to carry on and try long-shot medications is not a medical decision so much as a value judgment. When the time has come to stop fighting and let nature take its course should not be up to doctors unless the desired intervention would be physiologically ineffective. That isn’t the case here. Clearly, the desired treatment is working, i.e., it is keeping the patient alive.
  • In the end, these decisions are often about money as well as a conflict of values between doctors and family.

Coercion destroys comity in health care. Futile care impositions undermine patient autonomy. Cases like this are tough, but they fuel the ongoing disintegration of people’s trust in our medical institutions.

Socci: Francis wants “‘Rehabilitation’ of Martin Luther” & Benedict wanted Ambiguous Union with the Eastern Orthodox Churches

Antonio Socci in “The Secret of Benedict XVI” makes the case that Benedict XVI in his ecumenical dialogues with the Russian Orthodox Church specifically with Russian Orthodox metropolitan Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev was talking about being ambiguous about the primacy of the papacy.

Hilarion is quoted in the book:

“Ratzinger has made enormous efforts to clarify the question of the primacy of the bishop of Rome, shifting the emphasis from a juridical vision of primacy to understanding [the pope] primarily as a Christian witness of a particular type and as a service to unity in love”
(The Secret, page 27)

Socci says Benedict’s goal is “the opposite pole from the ‘rehabilitation’ of Martin Luther attempted by Papa Bergoglio [Francis]… ‘on the Eucharist and the Liturgy.”
(The Secret, page 28)

Apparently according to Socci while Francis wants some type of union with liberal Protestantism and is willing to sacrifice the “Eucharist and the Liturgy” in this apparent heretical goal, Benedict wanted union with the Eastern Orthodox Churches and seemed ready to be ambiguous about the infallible teaching of Vatican I.

The First Vatican Council infallibly taught as quoted by Legatus:

“[T]he Roman Pontiff holds primacy over the whole world… [is] head of the whole Church.”
(Legatus, “What is papal primacy?,” May 2, 2013)

The Legatus article “What is papal primacy?” says:

“Papal primacy… [is] universal jurisdictional authority to govern the Church… The Eastern Orthodox Church considers the bishop of Rome to have [only] a primacy of honor… They do not recognize his primacy in jurisdiction.”

Pray an Our Father now for reparation for the sins committed because of Francis’s Amoris Laetitia.

Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He wants you to do now and next. In this silence remember God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost – Three Divine Persons yet One God, has an ordered universe where you can know truth and falsehood as well as never forget that He wants you to have eternal happiness with Him as his son or daughter by grace. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet.

Francis Notes:

– Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:

“[T]he Pope… WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See.”
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)

Saint Robert Bellarmine, also, said “the Pope heretic is not deposed ipso facto, but must be declared deposed by the Church.”

Sen.

JORGE BERGOLIO AIMS HIS DESTRUCTIVE ATTENTION TO THE CONVENT OF TRADITIONAL CARMELITE NUNS AND HAS ORDERED AN APOSTOLIC VISITATION OF THE CONVENT

Letter #124, 2021, Sunday, September 26: Viganò Tape #16        We have now posted Tape #16 of The Viganò Tapes on Rumble (link) and YouTube (link).    These are a series of 18 video tapes where Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò responds to 18 of our questions.    We plan to post tapes #17 and #18 tomorrow and Wednesday, September 29, the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel.    Also, below, I post an important news note about a small but vibrant convent of traditional Carmelite nuns in Pennsylvania that seems to be facing pressure from Rome to “update” their religious life. A friend of mine is visiting the convent today, and I hope to have more to report on these contemplative nuns soon. In the life of contemplation, of course, focused entirely on the love of Christ and on ever deeper communion with Christ, the spiritual battle between good and evil is engaged in the souls of the contemplative nuns themselves, with consequences for them as individuals, but with consequences also for the entire life of the Church.     American Catholic writer James Andrew Dunn writes in a comment: “The Carmelites are a special order, a very special order. It is the order of Sts. Theresa of Avila and Therese of Liseux and that’s just two saints out of many. It is the order whose martyrdom during the French Revolution stopped the Reign of Terror. It is the order where Sister Lucia of Fatima spent the rest of her days. Need I say more? To my fellow Americans reading this, the United States of America needs our Carmelites more than they need us. They are all but assured of Heaven. We on the other hand… Please pray for these holy Carmelites in Fairfield and throughout the United States. I firmly believe that is their prayers that have held back the Hand of God (…).    —RM    ***    Here is Question #16, and the beginning of the archbishop’s answer:    Question #16: How did the revolutionary principles inspired by Freemasonry lead to the creation of the modern State? Do you believe the next step is the creation of a “global nation” — a single world government?    Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò: The modern State was born from the political, social, and religious conspiracy of the Masonic sects that wanted to cancel the Kingship of Our Lord, first from civil society by means of the French Revolution, and then from the Church by means of Vatican II. (…)                 =================    The plight of the Carmelite nuns of Pennsylvania    The web blog non veni pacem (citing the words of Christ, “I did not come to bring peace, but a sword,” Matthew 10:34) has just posted a report (on Sunday, September 26, yesterday) on a developing crisis at a traditional Catholic convent of Carmelite nuns in the middle of Pennsylvania. (link and link)    Fairfield PA Carmelites undergoing “difficult and stressful trial”… prayers urgently requested    Posted on SEPTEMBER 26, 2021    By Mark Docherty    It started yesterday with eight hours of “depositions.” It continued today, never mind the Third Commandment. It will continue through Tuesday.     You see, these nuns have two big problems: 1. They’re Trads, 2. Their vocations are booming.    I offered my Rosary for them today; please unite yourself to that or offer some prayers of your own, please.    From their press release last week:    “This coming weekend, we ask that you pray in a special way for our Nuns. More than ever before, they are in need of your love and your support.    “In August, they received the news they would be subject to an Apostolic Visitation and the dates have been scheduled for Sep. 25-28, 2021. A Visitation consists of interviews of each sister and a detailed scrutiny of the Nuns’ daily life. It includes an evaluation of their application of the Carmelite charism and their monastic customs.    “It is for this reason, we are asking for your prayerful support as they undergo this difficult and stressful trial. We pray that the Nuns may quickly return to their quiet monastic observance.”    ***    [The blog post continues by citing a Lifesitenews report]    Maike Hickson wrote something at Lifesitenews:    (LifeSiteNews) — The beautiful Carmelite monastery in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, with some 25 nuns dedicated to the traditional form of the Roman rite have received notice that an apostolic visitation will take place September 25–28. The Carmelites have sent out a press release (see full text below) and are asking for prayers and vigils, since such a visitation — which includes interviews of each sister and detailed scrutiny of their lives — is a “stressful trial,” in the words of the press release.    The Carmel of Jesus, Mary and Joseph is served by a hermit, Fr. Maximilian Mary Dean, who had earlier been a Franciscan Friar of the Immaculate. The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, an international order dedicated to the spirituality of St. Maxilimian Kolbe, had undergone a visitation early on in Pope Francis’ papacy — with very negative effects on the order.    Due to an increase of vocations, the Carmel of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph purchased land in 2013, with the blessing of their local bishop, Bishop Ronald Gainer of the Harrisburg Diocese, and moved to the new property in 2018.    As the Carmelites characterize their community on the website:    The primary mission of the Carmelite Order is to pray and offer oblation for the Church and the world. The use of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass and Divine Office sets this monastery apart and their observance of the Rule and Constitutions is part of an unbroken tradition stretching back from Mexico to Spain to Mount Carmel itself in the Holy Land.    The Carmelites continue:    Steeped in the rich tradition of their heritage, these Discalced Carmelites in the rural farmlands of Pennsylvania live out the centuries-old rule of their Holy Founders, St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. Completely in communion with the Roman Catholic Church and under the approval of the diocesan Bishop of Harrisburg, the nuns trace their roots back to sixteenth century Spain and seventeenth century Mexico. They are one of six other traditional foundations from the Carmel in Valparaiso, Nebraska.    These nuns are in the middle of a large building project, “seeking to re-create the beauty of the monasteries of old.” LifeSite has heard from numerous Catholic laypeople who travel from afar to visit this monastery and profit from the beauty and deep spirituality of these nuns. The nuns now ask that the faithful hold prayer vigils throughout the entire time of the Apostolic Visitation. LifeSite has not yet learned more about the reason for this visitation. We will update our reporting as soon as we learn more.    [End, LifeSiteNews story]    =======================

The justices of the Supreme Court should see through the legal maneuvering that the sophisticated team of lawyers representing the abortion providers has used, alternating tactics of stalling and racing, to try to game the litigation against the State of Texas’ implementation of the Texas Heartbeat Act

The lead question on which the abortion providers seek the Court’s review—“whether a State can insulate from federal-court review a law that prohibits the exercise of a constitutional right by delegating to the general public the authority to enforce that prohibition through civil actions”—is not a question properly before the Court. If understood as an independent question (and not just as tendentious rhetoric), that lead question is asking the Court to render an advisory opinion. In the tail end of the petition, the abortion providers ask the Court to decide whether state court clerks and state judges are proper defendants in the case. Those jurisdictional questions—which are pending before the Fifth Circuit, with oral argument in early December—will entirely dispose of the lead question. If state court clerks and state judges are proper defendants, then the lead question disappears. And if they are not proper defendants, then there is no jurisdiction to decide the lead question.2. The sophisticated team of lawyers representing the abortion providers has used alternating tactics of stalling and racing to try to game the litigation. The certiorari petition is usefully understood in that light.Texas legislators introduced the Texas Heartbeat Act on March 11, and Texas governor Greg Abbott signed it into law on May 19. So the abortion providers had plenty of notice to launch an immediate challenge, including a motion for a preliminary injunction. Instead, they waited nearly two months, until July 13, to file their complaint. And they waited nearly another month, until August 7, to file their motion for a preliminary injunction. In short, a full 80 days passed between enactment of the Act and the abortion providers’ motion for a preliminary injunction. And that motion was filed just 25 days before the effective date of the Act. It seems obvious that the abortion providers’ lawyers were trying to obscure the severe jurisdictional obstacles their motion faced and to rush the district court to grant ill-considered relief. When the district court, on August 25, denied the state defendants’ motion to dismiss on sovereign immunity grounds, their immediate appeal divested the district court of jurisdiction over them. The abortion providers then filed various “emergency” motions with the Fifth Circuit, even asking that the court vacate their own victory on the motion to dismiss. On the afternoon of August 30, after the Fifth Circuit properly denied their motions, the abortion providers then raced to the Supreme Court. Their “emergency application” asked the Court to act before September 1 (i.e., in barely 30 or so hours) to enjoin state officials from enforcing the Act, even though the Act itself prohibits those state officials from enforcing it. The Court properly denied their request for emergency relief (though the 5-4 vote should have been unanimous). After delaying for 80 days in filing their motion for preliminary-injunctive relief, the abortion providers are now asking the Court to leapfrog the proceedings below. What’s more, they are asking the Court to expedite consideration of their extraordinary writ for certiorari before judgment. Instead of allowing defendants the usual 30 days to respond to their petition, they have asked the Court to require a response by October 12. Not only would that give defendants only 19 days to respond, but, as the abortion providers well know, that proposed deadline is also nearly simultaneous with the date (October 13) on which defendants must file their opening briefs in the pending Fifth Circuit appeal. The abortion providers propose that the Court consider their petition at the Court’s October 29 conference. In the event that the Court were to grant certiorari, they propose an expedited schedule of briefing on the merits a briefing that “would allow for oral argument during the Court’s December sitting” (which ends on December 8)—right when the Fifth Circuit is slated to hear oral argument. The Court’s usual rules contemplate 105 days for full merits briefing. The abortion providers’ schedule would allow only about 1/3 of that.Given that the abortion providers delayed the litigation by 80 days in order to gain tactical advantage, the Court should look with particular disfavor on their petition.

This inside baseball knowledge of Mikovits helps us understand why Fauci behaves the way he does, his contradictory public pronouncements as Covid public health czar, exposing his true nature and personal motives!

From Judy Mikovits’ book, Ending Plague:”But just as there was a problem, there was a solution to the blood supply issue in the horizon. It was a blood decontamination technology called INTERCEPT, created by the Cerus Company of Concord, California.”
Why was INTERCEPT discredited and not implemented to clean up the national blood supply?
All roads lead to Dr. Anthony Fauci who 35 years before as the head of NIAID/NIH  (still is today) denied contaminants in the national blood bank that infected and killed many HIV sufferers and hemophiliacs.
According to Mikovits’ mentor,  Frank Ruscetti, coauthor of her new book, HIV is the biggest killer of women in sub-Sahara Africa.
What Fauci and friends have done to hide the truth about the blood banks all over the world to shield themselves from international public outrage and widespread loss of public confidence in public health care is truly genocidal, evil to the core… AND IT CONTINUES!
Yes, its mindboggling … but this inside baseball knowledge of Mikovits helps us understand why Fauci behaves the way he does, his contradictory public pronouncements as Covid public health czar, exposing his true nature and personal motives. There are many corrupted Fauci allies.
A Hollywood written script couldn’t make this all up … reality stranger than fiction. The capacity of powerful men and women to commit unspeakable, barbaric evil is virtually unlimited.

Why do Christians believe there is an animus against them? “Christians’ beliefs about conflict with sexual minorities are shaped by understandings of Christian values, social change, interpretation of the Bible, and in response to religious institution.

Do LGBT Rights Have No Effect On Christians?
September 27, 2021
Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a study on LGBT rights and anti-Christian bias:
In a study that was recently published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, six researchers from four universities concluded that there is no evidence to support the idea that LGBT progress comes at the expense of increasing bias against Christians. If this were true, it would undercut one of the more salient bases for opposing LGBT rights.
As will be seen, there are good reasons to question this conclusion. Moreover, a palpable bias on the part of the professors is evident.
If, as the study contends, that anti-Christian bias does not proceed from gains won by the LGBT community, then why do Christians believe there is an animus against them? “Christians’ beliefs about conflict with sexual minorities are shaped by understandings of Christian values, social change, interpretation of the Bible, and in response to religious institution.”
In other words, the notion that bias against Christians tends to increase as LGBT rights progress is not real—it’s in their heads. The study finds that the source of their faulty perception is due to their Christian beliefs, not to any real instances of anti-Christian sentiment or behavior. This, in turn, is a consequence of Christians being on the losing side of the culture wars. Having lost “their sway,” they now see themselves as victims of a “symbolic threat.”
The authors further claim that since Christians are “relatively privileged,” it suggests that their “desire to maintain group dominance may be driven by desires for cultural dominance.”
The study ends in a way that is customary for research papers, with a section titled, “Limitations and Future Directions.” It’s too bad that these psychologists didn’t list their own predilections as a limiting factor. In fairness, this hardly makes them unique. Though it ought to be done.
Max Weber, the distinguished sociologist, wrote about what he called a “loaded dice” theorem. He argued that although researchers should strive for objectivity, they need to acknowledge that the very selection of the subject that they chose to study is itself a value choice, or a bias. He further insisted that “statements of fact are one thing, statements of value another, and any confusing of the two is impermissible.”
Weber’s concerns are particularly relevant to this study, and indeed to virtually all studies done these days by behavioral and social scientists on an array of subjects dealing with the family, sexuality and religion. To be exact, how many professors in these areas are more sympathetic to Christian sensibilities than they are to the LGBT agenda? Next to none. There is little in the way of diversity of thought in higher education.
The authors of this study give plenty of reasons to question their objectivity. To take a small but telling example, no serious researcher talks about “cishet” people. This neologism, which means a heterosexual who identifies with his nature-derived sex (they would object to my characterization), can only be found in places like “The Queer Dictionary.” This is the talk of gay activists, not scholars.
More important, when they say that Christians are “privileged,” they are making a statement that is more political than scientific. Surely low-income and working class Christians are not members of some “privileged” segment of society. Indeed, by what measure are middle class Americans, many of whom are struggling to pay their mortgage and saving for their children’s education, members of some “privileged” group?
In fact, if being “privileged” were defined by the number of hours worked per week, and the number of days off per year, professors would be the most privileged class in the world. In fact, once they get tenure they can slide and do practically nothing and still keep their job. (I was in the professoriate for 16 years, so I speak with experience.)
Where is the evidence that Christians want “group dominance”? This is an assertion, not an empirical finding. Reclaiming, or maintaining, rights that are being diminished is hardly proof that “dominance” is the goal. The end that is sought may be nothing more than equity.
At the beginning of the article, the Masterpiece Cakeshop case is cited.  The authors never mention that it was the anti-Christian statements made by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission that persuaded the U.S. Supreme Court to side with the Christian baker. Surely evidentiary findings of bigotry would matter if the victims were LGBT persons. Why should anti-Christian bigotry count for less?
The way the authors see it, this case was about “being obligated to serve sexual minorities,” something which “violated Christians’ religious freedom.” Similarly, at the end of the article they maintain that “same-sex couples continue to experience more discrimination from wedding industry professionals than heterosexual couples.”
The truth is that the owner of the bakeshop never refused anyone, including gays, from buying one of his goods. What he refused to do was custom-make a wedding cake for two men, a request that would force him to sanction a ceremony that violates the tenets of his Christian faith. That is not a small difference.
Why wouldn’t those who work in the wedding business be more prone not to cooperate with such requests? After all, they are not car salesmen. Furthermore, for Catholics, to take one example, marriage is a sacrament, one that is reserved for a man and a woman.
The authors found that “Perceptions of anti-Christian bias seem to be particularly acute for conservative Christians.” It would be shocking if they found otherwise.
As any survey research findings show, the difference between liberal Christians and secular Americans on moral issues is virtually identical these days. To put it differently, if a Christian is okay with gay marriage, he is not likely to spot anti-Christian bias in anything the parties to it might request.
One of the main conclusions of this study holds that while LGBT individuals “bear the brunt of discrimination,” there is “less evidence of widespread bias against Christians.” They take it a step further by arguing that “there is no evidence, to our knowledge, connecting the experience of LGBT individuals to bias against Christians.” [To read a sample of the evidence, click here.]
If bias against Christians is measured by discrimination in school and in the workplace, then it is true that much progress has been made. But if bias is measured by Christian bashing, there is a big problem.
Those who work in the media, education, the entertainment industry, the arts, and government have said the most vile things about conservative Christians, comments that would never be counseled if said about gays or transgender persons. If anything, the ruling class has locked arms with the gay community, and that often pits them against Christians.
To say that there is no evidence “connecting the experience of LGBT individuals to bias against Christians” is fatuous. There are scores of cases involving Catholic schools which have been sued by deceitful gay teachers.
None was fired because he was a homosexual: every case involved gay teachers who claimed to be married to a person of the same sex, in direct defiance to the norms they voluntarily accepted as a condition of employment. In many cases, these teachers deliberately went public with their status, hoping to force a confrontation in the courts.
The federal government has been sued for allowing orthodox religious schools to receive federal funds, schools which maintain that marriage is the union of a man and a woman, not people of the same sex. Colleges have been sued for denying biological men to live in women’s dorms.
Speech codes have been adopted in the workplace, ordering employees to use pronouns for transgender persons that violate their free speech rights and deny common sense. Catholic adoption agencies have been sued for following Catholic teachings on marriage and the family. Catholic hospitals have been sued for not agreeing to perform transgender surgery. Pro-life activists have been harassed by LGBT store owners.
The collision between LBGT rights and religious liberty is at a fever pitch. The former are nowhere mentioned in the Constitution, but the latter is enshrined in the First Amendment.
It’s time to stop floating the fiction that LGBT advances have not resulted in a diminution of rights for Christians, or in a bias directed at them. The elites have laid anchor, and it is not in the Christian camp.

On September 26, the former director of cybersecurity policy and international affairs at the Department of Defense, Col. (Ret.) John Mills, showed that vulture mafioso globalists such as George Soros may see their follow global mafioso “Xi Jinping’s takedown of the Ant Group” and “withdrawal” from Hollywood as a sign that Francis’s ally the Chinese Communist Party may be closing in on being “dry[ing rot” dead meat:

Lost in the din of the greatest American foreign policy debacle since World War II, a mysterious and very positive dénouement occurred with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence operations. Under concealment from the focus on Afghanistan, the CCP has essentially withdrawn from Hollywood and the financial infusion of cash that has kept the legacy motion picture production industry alive for almost 20 years.

In true Sun Tzu-ian fashion, the CCP choreographed a complex, disciplined, and orderly Dunkirk-like withdrawal from Hollywood, as opposed to the deadly, shameful, haphazard rout overseen by the Biden administration.

“Unlike the U.S. in Afghanistan, the CCP achieved exactly what it set out to do,” said Lance Crayon, Hollywood writer and documentary filmmaker.

So far, there’s barely been a blip of coverage on this topic. After years of relentless CCP influence operations in the United States, and specifically in the Los Angeles area, the Hollywood beachhead has become well known and part of an overall surge of CCP influence operations in the United States. Why the sudden withdrawal?

[…]

The CCP Hollywood withdrawal is part of an even bigger trendline—possibly one that’s positive for those of us working to stare down the CCP.

Xi Jinping’s takedown of the Ant Group initial public offering in November 2020 was a tsunami in several ways. It was a baffling takedown of the leading economic force and personality in China, Jack Ma. For a small, valiant group led by Roger Robinson, it was manna from heaven.

“To our surprise, Xi turned out to be a one-man wrecking ball for Jack Ma and much of China’s tech sector vis-à-vis the capital markets,” Robinson said.

It was stunning—but it was the first of many. Why in the world would Xi conduct a ransacking of his leading flagship companies?

Xi is trashing the house he lives in. He’d rather take out personalities that could possibly challenge his rule than see China thrive.

With the Didi fiasco—largely unobserved by most, BlackRock, led by the unabashed virtue signaler and poster child for Woke executives, Larry Fink, has lost a not insignificant amount of wealthGeorge Soros has come out aggressively against China, both economically and also as the greatest threat to the liberal, democratic, republics of the world. What an odd comment coming from the worldwide creator of intrigue, but sometimes odd bedfellows are necessary.

Overall, the economic indicators have now turned south on China. Xi is willing to accept economic pain in return for security and unassailable power…

… The CCP Hollywood withdrawal removes the thin veneer and exposes the dry rot of totalitarian China. [https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_morningbrief/america-evacuates-from-afghanistan-the-ccp-evacuates-from-hollywood_4002714.html?utm_source=Morningbrief&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=mb-2021-09-27&mktids=fd937ee26c0641abb9cc037a04216a37&est=o2ETzMg4w%2FVtx1eqn%2Bw9X4GzTof7VNYnWR70fxN0fuoH23HCL2VHC4oAlFVl]

Might there be a Francis alliance with China that is bonded not in blood, but in money?

Last year, Thomist scholar Dr. Taylor Marshall who heads the New Saint Thomas Institute in his YouTube channel said the Francis Vatican’s biggest concern in 2020 will be “money” because their money sources such as in the United States and other places are drying up.

Did Marshall apparently say that the Francis deal with China which betrayed the Chinese Catholic underground Church is about “money”?

“They are worried they are going to lose all the money… [their] striking the deal with China is a way to get money from China.”
(Taylor Marshall.com, “When Pope Francis Slapped Woman’s Hand: Predictions,” 49:18- 49:50)

Most international and Vatican observers appear oblivious to the crumbling of Francis’s apparent Vatican geopolitical Socialist alliances and that those alliances are financially supported by China and if Marshall is right the Vatican wants that same financial support.

Any one who has read Francis’s only book “Dialogos” with it’s praise of the Cuban Revolution and looked closely at some of his Vatican political maneuvers, such as the China/Vatican deal, the Obama/Cuba alliance, the Vatican/Evo Morales alliance and the Vatican protection of the Cuban controlled dictatorship of Venezuela (by the continued call for “dialogue”), can speculate that his probable political hopes may be crumbling.

His apparent main political vision of the spreading of China’s puppet Cuba’s influence throughout Latin America as a so-called counterbalance to the United States’ influence in the region now appears to be falling apart.

Cuba’s main economic support after the USSR economy collapsed was Venezuela. After Venezuela’s failed state economy collapsed then Cuba’s economy was only held together by China stepping in.

China’s puppet Cuba’s Latin American influence is now dying with Bolivia kicking out Cuban and Venezuelan Cuban operatives and Venezuela’s dictatorship nearing it’s end.

It may be possible that Francis agreed to the Vatican/China deal which betrayed the Chinese Catholic underground Church because without China’s economic assistance Cuba’s economy would resemble the Venezuelan starvation economy, but maybe more importantly “to get money from China” as Marshall said.

In 2020, with reports that the Hong Kong freedom protests have spread to the most important province in China – Guangdong – in terms of population and economic power it appears that the Chinese Communist totalitarian regime was and is in a dilemma.

If they crack down on the powerhouse economies of Hong Kong and Guangdong the already downward spiral of the Chinese economy may begin a collapse of the whole country. That appears to be the only reason they are not destroying the Hong Kong freedom fighters as they murdered the Tienanmen Square freedom fighters in 1989.

Anyone who has studied the murderous history of the totalitarian regime of China is hard pressed to not call that dictatorship: evil.

It is a very sad commentary on the current moral situation of the Catholic Church to observe the Francis Vatican’s apparent collaboration with China is possibly “a way to get money from China.”

If it is true that Francis’s Vatican has an alliance and is financially supported by the Chinese regime it appears that if the Chinese owned Epoch Times is correct then Francis may have to go down with a “sinking boat” called the “Titanic“:

When China’s economy was close to falling off a cliff, Western countries bailed out the CCP. With the opening of trade and the U.S. market to China, China privatized a lot of land and companies, but CCP officials and their relatives got the lion’s share of opportunities.

The CCP used the ideals of socialism to rob people of their property, then privatized it into their own hands.

Among top officials, there’s a secret plan for a “sinking boat.” They’re insiders and know better than the majority of Chinese how corrupt the system is and that it’s not sustainable. These CCP elites don’t take China as their home country. They see the country as a place temporarily held by them where they can grab money and prepare to leave.

That’s why they’re willing to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, just to get a few eggs right now, as in Hong Kong. It’s the same model that’s applied to the entire country. China is only a temporary hunting ground for grabbing money.

In 2012, the following internal data leaked out: 90 percent of central party committee members had relatives and children who had emigrated to foreign countries; 85 percent of top officials were ready to abandon their positions and escape the country.

That’s why China doesn’t allow any officials above mid-level local positions to hold their passports. The higher the position, the more the CCP officials know that the CCP crisis is reaching a boiling point. They’ve moved their assets out, prepared to run away, and are even prepared in an emergency to destroy the central database to cover their tracks.

That’s part of their plan for the “sinking boat.” That’s why they use state money to corrupt international officials, make friends with many countries, and generously spread money to some foreign lands while giving very little to their own people.

Taiwanese economist Wu Jialong said that a Taiwanese businessman told him that Jia Qinglin, the former chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, “hired a private jet loaded with gold, dollars, euros, and more, and flew to Cambodia.”

One can see why the CCP cares even for small countries.

The majority of people in China don’t know it’s a sinking boat. They enjoy as much as they can while ignoring how the CCP corrupts the morality of society, just like the drinking, singing passengers on the sinking Titanic.

What top CCP officials are most afraid of is Western countries’ sanctions of individuals.
