I do not know what we think of it now. A variant form of art or narrative? An alternative way of life? The latest fashionable mental disease? It is noticeable in our politics, where I suppose it was always noticeable, and long expressed in the (sometimes intrusive) non-sequitur. The patient observer of interviews and political statements must endure many assertions that don’t strictly follow from their premises, and may not follow at all. With time, the departures become more and more striking. But it is the invasion of everyday life that is more consequential. Evil motives, such as racism, and the various forms of fascism, are routinely flung at apparently innocent people, like battery acid on the city streets. To be fair, battery and other acids have not yet become brutish playthings on American streets, although they have in Britain, from where too many of our enthusiasms are copied. On the other hand, Americans much indulge in gunplay, whereas in England and elsewhere discomfort with guns has led to more casual knife fights and slashing attacks.Even a society that is mentally ill is guided by arbitrary law. Usually, this is a matter of convenience. So long as guns are easily available, they will be used, and they continue to be widely available among the criminal classes. All proposals to restrict them are aimed at the likeliest victims of gun violence, to take away their defenses against the commission of crimes.A well-trained, steady-handed, crack shot has a good chance in American life, even in large cities like Chicago, where the bullets often fly randomly. An exception to the general decay of public and institutional sanity, he can be counted on to know who should, and who should not be, shot during a street altercation. But the legal implications of applying his skill are formidable. As we are reminded by the tabloid press, the legal system will invite itself in. What deadbeats in the nastier neighborhoods failed to do, prosecuting attorneys will attempt to complete, in return for huge financial prizes. The vindicator of once-respected human rights may find himself in a prison.Of course, I am by-passing the many new crimes that are created by our legal-entrepreneurial elite. For instance, in the case of men, making a pass at a woman is among the many things raised from a social faux-pas to an infraction of the criminal law, and may be applied to anyone that women (real or imaginary) are reputed to dislike.*This was an experimental legal innovation, in furtherance of women’s “rights” or something with that flavor. It is extended by analogy to minority racial and cultural groups, and the institution of slavery. Now, slavery, as traditionally defined, has not existed in our society in several generations; but its non-existence is no impediment to its enforcement.“Equality” is the slogan that can set off many of our most disordered minds. It can mean one of many contradictory things, and by choosing carefully between them, a case may be made for many imaginative outrages.Law, like politics, is the province of lunatics – as is any in which those unequipped with faith or reason attempt to impose their principles on others. Our jurisprudential hysterias are, for the most part, rather dull. Why wouldn’t a society under control of the mentally unstable begin to unravel, quite across the board? The priest, whose remark initiated this column, was in fact referring to an article about Afghanistan. But why do we ask questions about this topic – such as why were preparations for the abandonment of Afghanistan done in the absence of foresight? Why do we ask questions of, for instance, bureaucrats who have stipulated that those fleeing the country, at the risk of their lives, must prove that they have tested negative for COVID-19 (the “Batflu”) in the last three days?Perhaps question-asking is merely a habit, formed during past forgotten centuries when sanity was largely taken for granted. In truth, it is only when one thought about the massive, unchecked bureaucracy imposing its will  in troubled, distant Kabul – for perhaps a leisurely two-and-a-half seconds – that one’s desire to call an ambulance is engaged. For there must be thousands of people working in “public health,” and all are in need of immediate attention.I was myself, once upon a time, a minor journalist finding my way across the battlefield of Vietnam, and thanks to that experience entirely unsurprised that the United States, with all its advantages in arms and training, would be defeated in Afghanistan by an inferior, despised, and amateur force. But the “theater of the absurd” extends to all projects in the Western world, and is rapidly “evolving” towards total disaster. For instance, it is now deeply installed in the Catholic Church, and advancing, more at the direction of the pope than by her massive, incompetent bureaucracy. (Though not without their aid.)The Church, it is alleged, or rather observed, has in its human mission, mostly failed to inspire the world to sanctity, and away from its grim, sinful tendencies. The triumph of savage anger remains quite apparent in, for instance, war.Why is anyone surprised to discover that, apparently, virtually all the senior authority figures in the Catholic Church are crooks? That many tend to be sexual deviants? That most espouse Marxism, or other “belief systems” that are incoherent? The recent scandal, or fiasco, in which our pope has effectively made the sacrifice of the Old Mass illegal, can only be seen in light of the above. A central player in our “theater of the absurd,” I wonder what will follow his retirement? *Image: Three Lawyers by Honoré Daumier, 1855-57 [Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C.]© 2021 The Catholic Thing. THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF PEDIATRICIANS REBELS AGAINST THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION MANDATE THAT REQUIRES DOCTORS TO PERFORM GENDER TRANSITION PROCEDURES ON ANY PATIENT, INCLUDING A CHILD, EVEN IF THE PROCEDURE VIOLATES A DOCTOR’S MEDICAL JUDGMENT OR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Media Contact: Quentin L. Van Meter, MD, FCP, Presidentadmin@acpeds.org (352) 376-1877ACPeds Challenges HHS Gender Transition MandateNew lawsuit challenges HHS rule that forces doctors to perform controversial gender transition procedures on childrenCHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds), the Catholic Medical Association (CMA), and an OB-GYN doctor who specializes in the care of adolescents are represented by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorneys in a lawsuit challenging a Biden administration mandate that requires doctors to perform gender transition procedures on any patient, including a child, even if the procedure violates a doctor’s medical judgment or religious beliefs.
ADF attorneys filed suit in federal court Thursday against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its reinterpretation of the Affordable Care Act, which prohibits sex discrimination, to include gender identity and thus require gender transition interventions, services, surgeries, and drugs on demand, even for children, no matter a doctor’s medical judgment, religious beliefs, or conscientious objection.
Dr. Michelle Cretella, Executive Director of ACPeds stated, “To equate sex with gender identity as if children may be born in the wrong body sacrifices science and our children on the altar of political correctness. Sex is a medically significant innate and immutable binary trait that is determined by genes at fertilization. No drugs or surgeries can change a person’s sex, but so-called gender transition interventions do cause irreversible damage, especially to youth.”
Dr. Quentin L. Van Meter, President of ACPeds and a pediatric endocrinologist added, “Puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones combined will sterilize many youth and cause them to develop serious chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancers that they otherwise would have never experienced.” He also emphasized that the international standard of care for youth is psychotherapeutic exploration with treatment aimed at underlying causative factors.
“Biden’s Health and Human Services department is grossly overreaching its authority and, in so doing, putting children’s psychological and physical health in great peril. Our clients are rightfully objecting on medical, ethical, religious, and conscientious grounds to a one-size-fits-all government mandate to provide gender-transition procedures,” said ADF Senior Counsel Ryan Bangert.
“To force doctors to engage in experimental medicine that poses a risk to patients—or face huge financial penalties, withdrawal of federal funding, or removal of their ability to practice medicine—is an extreme violation of doctors’ constitutional rights and certainly not in the best interest of the patients they serve,” said ADF Senior Counsel Julie Marie Blake.
The two medical associations filing suit in American College of Pediatricians v. Becerrarepresent 3,000 physicians and health professionals, including in Tennessee. The case is filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Chattanooga.About the American College of PediatriciansThe American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) is a national medical association of licensed physicians and healthcare professionals who specialize in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. It was founded by a group of concerned physicians who saw the need for a pediatric organization that would not be influenced by the politically driven pronouncements of the day. The mission of the ACPeds is to enable all children to reach their optimal physical and emotional health and well-being. IT WAS INEVITABLE THAT ISIS WOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EXODUS OF LEGITIMATE AFGHAN CITIZENS FROM TABUL TO INFILTRATE ISIS BOMBERS AMONG THE AFGHANS

Evacuated Afghan Refugees Tied to ISIS, 100 More Flagged: U.S. Department of Defense

ByAmerican Faith8 hours ago

Up to 100 evacuees have been flagged for further scrutiny during the more comprehensive screening they received at their first stop after Afghanistan: reports.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Security screeners at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar have detected that at least one of the Afghans who was evacuated from Kabul Airport has potential ties to ISIS, a U.S. official confirmed to Defense One.
  • The evacuee “looks like a potential member of ISIS,” said one official. “They’re still working that through.”
  • The Defense Departments Automated Biometric Identification System has also flagged up to 100 of the 7,000 Afghans evacuated as prospective recipients of Special Immigration Visas as potential matches to intelligence agency watch lists, another official said.
  • At least 6,000 fleeing Afghans have been evacuated to Al Udeid and thousands more have been flown to other temporary staging bases throughout the Middle East and Europe by U.S. military aircraft, notes Defense One.
  • Customs and Border Patrol screeners at those bases check evacuees’ IDs and biometric data against law enforcement databases.
  • Thousands of those Afghans will come to the United States, where they will be initially housed at several military bases, such as Fort Bliss in Texas, Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, and Fort Lee in Virginia.

“.5% OR MORE” AFGHAN REFUGEES TIED TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS:
  • A Pentagon official told The Daily Caller the number of Afghan refugees flagged for questionable connections, such as connections to attacks against U.S. or coalition forces, is “0.5% or more.”
  • Joe Biden estimated during an interview published Aug 19 that between 50,000 to 65,000 Afghans must be evacuated.
  • This means that roughly 250-325 of these could be flagged.
  • “With large numbers of people coming from Afghanistan, where we know there is significant Al-Qaida and ISIS-K presence, it’s highly likely that in some cases, these really sophisticated terrorists may attempt to enter the country as infiltrators,” the Pentagon official said. “Within that population of half a percent, some are likely to be tied to Al-Qaida or ISIS-K, and those are designated terrorist organizations,” the official added.

Transgender Report Part III: Psychological Damage
August 26, 2021
This is the last installment of our three-part series on this subject.
When no intervention is made 70% of children with gender dysphoria will grow out of it on their own.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) lists eight conditions that are associated with gender dysphoria in children. A child is diagnosed with this condition if they meet six of them. They are:
A strong desire to be of the other gender or insistence that one is the other gender
A strong preference for cross-dressing or simulating [other gender] attire
A strong preference for cross-gender roles in make believe play or fantasy play
A strong preference for the toys, games, or activities stereotypically used or engaged in by the other gender
A strong preference for playmates of the other gender
A strong rejection of toys, games and activities typically associated with birth sex
A strong dislike of one’s sexual anatomy
A strong desire for the primary and/or secondary sex characteristics that match one’s experienced gender
Most of the adolescent girls claiming to be transgender did not show any signs of these conditions in childhood. Further, social media can influence and coach these girls to say they meet the DSM-5 criteria for gender dysphoria and begin their treatment.
The BBC reported on a study that showed some children taking puberty blockers reported an increase in thoughts of suicide and self-harm.
“It showed that after a year on puberty blockers, there was a significant increase found in those answering the statement ‘I deliberately try to hurt or kill myself.'”
A study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine “found that 80 percent of gender minority students report having mental health problems, nearly double the rate of ‘cisgender’ students.”
Renowned psychiatrist, Paul McHugh, said, “I believe that these gender confusions are mostly being driven by psychological and psychosocial problems these people have.”
Professor Lisa Littman, a researcher at Brown University published a report “suggesting that some transgender-identified children might suffer from ‘rapid onset gender dysphoria,’ a phenomenon in which ‘one, multiple, or even all of the friends [in a group] have become gender dysphoric and transgender-identified during the same timeframe.” She believes that transgender identity is a social contagion. Littman hypothesized three things worked as the contagion:
The belief that non-specific symptoms should be perceived as gender dysphoria and that their presence is proof of being transgender
The belief that the only path to happiness is transition
The belief that anyone who disagrees with the self-assessment of being transgender or opposes the plan for transition is transphobic, abusive, and should be cut off
According to Littman’s study:
Over 80% of the adolescents were natal females, with a mean age of 16.4.
Most were living at home with their parents when they announced they were transgender.
The vast majority had zero indicators of childhood gender dysphoria, and universally they failed to meet six of the criteria the DSM-5 requires to diagnose a child with gender dysphoria.
A majority had had one or more psychiatric diagnosis and almost half were engaging in self-harm prior to the onset of gender dysphoria.
41% had expressed non-heterosexual sexual orientation before identifying as transgender.
47.4% had been formally assessed as academically gifted.
Nearly 70% of the teenagers belonged to a social group in which at least one friend came out as transgender, and in some groups the majority of the friends had come out as transgender.
Over 65% of teens had increased their social media use and time spent online immediately prior to the announcement of transgender identity.
Among parents who knew their children’s social status, over 60% said the announcement brought a popularity boost.
Over 90% of parents surveyed were white.
Over 70% of parents surveyed had earned bachelor’s or graduate degrees.
Over 85% of parents reported supporting the rights of gay couples to marry.
Over 88% of parents surveyed reported being supportive of transgender rights.
Nearly 64% of parents had been called “transphobic” or “bigoted” by their children for such reasons as: disagreeing with the child about the child’s self-assessment as being transgender, recommending that the child should take more time to figure out if the child’s feelings of gender dysphoria persisted, calling the child the wrong pronouns, telling their child that hormones or surgeries were unlikely to help, calling their child by his or her birth name, or recommending that the child work on other underlying mental health issues before undergoing medical transition.
Fewer than 13% of parents believed that their adolescents’ mental health had improved after transgender identification, and over 47% reported that their mental health worsened.
A study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics found that “More than half of transgender male teens [girl to boy] who participated in the survey reported attempting suicide in their lifetime, while 29.9 percent of transgender female teens [boy to girl] said they attempted suicide. Among non-binary youth [those who identify as neither], 41.8 percent of respondents stated that they had attempted suicide at some point in their lives.”
In a paper published by the American Journal of Psychiatry it was reported that “sex-reassignment procedures—both hormonal and surgical—do not bring the promised mental health benefits.”
The authors point out that on one score—treatment for anxiety disorders—patients who had sex-reassignment surgeries did worse than those who did not. “Individuals diagnosed with gender incongruence who had received gender-affirming surgery were more likely to be treated for anxiety disorders compared with individuals diagnosed with gender incongruence who had not received gender-affirming surgery.”
The study in the American Journal of Psychiatry also found that transgender individuals who had received a diagnosis of gender incongruence were:
Six times more likely to have a mood or anxiety disorder than the general population.
Three times as likely to be prescribed antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications.
More than six times as likely to attempt suicide resulting in hospitalization.
Therapists usually practice gender affirmation. In other words, if a girl thinks she is a boy, therapists believe it is in the best interest of the child to affirm this. There is little evidence to suggest that this approach actually resolves the issues of gender dysphoria. Further, this approach is usually adopted without parental consent.
Gender therapists tend to believe that adolescents know who they are. Rather than working to resolve underlying conditions that may cause gender dysphoria, they take the minor’s word as fact, and begin a treatment regiment based on what the adolescent believes.
Gender therapists will essentially hold parents emotionally hostage by informing them that if they do not embrace their adolescents’ beliefs about gender dysphoria then their children will kill themselves. Rather than actively working to end self-harming behavior, therapists will use it to push the adolescents further down the path to transitioning.
Gender therapists generally believe that gender identity is immutable and there is no way to convert a child out of a transgender identity. So instead of helping children move past their gender dysphoria, as they would 70% of the time without intervention, therapists believe there is no alternative to embracing the identity and moving forward with transition procedures.
Many have described the transgender community, particularly its online presence, as a cult. They will constantly push one another further down the path of transition in the pursuit of a more genuine and authentic transgender lifestyle. Frequently, in social media postings, transgender influencers praise one another for how hardcore they are as they mutilate their bodies. Anyone perceived to have reservations about taking the plunge risks being perceived as less committed to the lifestyle, and not fully onboard.
A 2020 study conducted by Britain’s National Health Service found a relationship between increased media coverage of transgender issues and rising number of teenagers, primarily girls, requesting sex changes. Journalists glorify medical transitions and present them to adolescent readers of celebrity publications as a solution to depression, anxiety and panic attacks. This is very appealing to adolescent girls, who traditionally have higher degrees of depression and anxiety than their male counterparts and were more adversely impacted by social isolation during the lockdown.
During the isolation of lockdown, anxiety and depression grew in many girls. Last year, they followed an increasingly familiar pattern of rapid-onset-gender-dysphoria. It typically starts by transgender activists on Reddit, Tumblr, and YouTube promoting a transgender identity as a cure to all their problems. This then leads to the girls forming a new gender identity which schools then eagerly affirm. Any objections are treated as “transphobic.”

“Pfizer Scheme to Churn Out ‘Variant-Specific’ Vaccines Will Lead to More Variants” & “Biden’s Mark of the Beast”

WARNING! 666 The Mark of the Beast - video Dailymotion

The Defender reported “Pfizer Scheme to Churn Out ‘Variant-Specific’ Vaccines Will Lead to More Variants, Experts Warn… We’ve in a sense created now a super-dominant strain:

The UK government’s advisory panel, the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, said higher rates of virus circulation and transmission were creating “more opportunities for new variants to emerge.”

But other experts argue it’s universal vaccination that is creating highly transmissible escape mutantscapable of evading vaccines and subjecting the unvaccinated to infection.

Dr. Peter McCullough, board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and clinical lipidology, said in a recent podcast: “There are clearly sources of information to suggest that once we start vaccination and we get more than 25% of the population vaccinated, we will allow one of the variants that’s in the background to emerge because it’s resistant to the vaccine.”

“That [theory] makes sense,” McCullough said. “Just like an antibiotic, once we get to a certain percentage of coverage with an antibiotic, we’ll allow a resistant bacteria to move forward.”

McCullough explained:

“If we were to go back in time six months ago, we had about 14 strains or more in the United States — all relatively small proportions. We had UK, Brazilian and there was always some Delta, by the way — it was always in the background. And there was a paper by Niessen and colleagues from Boston and Rochester Minnesota, a great paper — over a million sequenced samples. They looked at vaccination rates all over, and the variant proportions, and they concluded that with more than 25% of the population vaccinated, you’ll encourage a dominant strain to move forward.

“We’ve in a sense created now a super-dominant strain, we’ve encouraged a super-dominant strain,” though McCullough noted science showed the Delta variant is milder.

In an interview on “RFK, Jr. The Defender Podcast,” McCullough cited an Aug. 10 study  in The Lancet that showed people who are vaccinated against COVID are more susceptible to the Delta variant.

According to McCullough, the paper’s authors demonstrated widespread vaccine failure and transmission under tightly controlled circumstances in a hospital lockdown in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.

Geert Vanden Bossche is a virologist and vaccinologist who worked with GSK Biologicals, Novartis Vaccines, Solvay Biologicals, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Health Discovery team in Seattle and GAVI, The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization in Geneva.

In an Aug. 12 article, Vanden Bossche said universal mass vaccination will prompt dominant propagation of highly infectious, neutralization escape mutants, and naturally acquired — or vaccinal neutralizing antibodies — will no longer offer any protection to immunized individuals, whereas high infectious pressure will continue to suppress the innate immune defense system of the unvaccinated. [https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/pfizer-ceo-albert-bourla-variant-specific-covid-vaccine/?utm_source=salsa&eType=EmailBlastContent&eId=c3811d62-06de-4ff6-a562-5398d3e58269]

Moreover, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene  said “They are actually talking about people’s ability to buy and sell linked to the vaccine passport… They might as well call it Biden’s Mark of the Beast“:

Marjorie Taylor Greene @mtgreeneeThey are actually talking about people’s ability to buy and sell linked to the vaccine passport.  They might as well call it They are actually talking about people’s ability to buy and sell linked to the vaccine passport. They might as well call it Biden’s Mark of the Beast.[https://twitter.com/mtgreenee/status/1376630161223913485]  Renowned statistician Dr. William Briggs who is a consultant and adjunct Professor of Statistics at Cornell University with specialties in medicine and philosophy of science reported its already coming about in France where “Macron, believes you should be starved into submission—for no man in France, after 1 August, will be able to buy or sell without the Mark of the Vex“: EXPERTISM = TYRANNY

A key facet of the leftist mindset is that once a leftist convinces himself doing some thing is a good idea, he thinks that not only should he do the thing, but that you, too, should be required to.

Witness this drive to forcibly inject chemicals into you—for your own good:

I have no problem with this – Vaccines protect not just you but others via Herd Immunity (esp those who cannot have the Vaccine). If you do not want to do your part as part of the Herd, there should be consequences. Your duties of solidarity >>> your ‘my body’ crank medicine. https://t.co/QqOOHxJQwD

— Gray Connolly (@GrayConnolly) July 20, 2021

This Connolly thinks it well to have himself vexxed. He, having the tendency to tyranny all leftists do, therefore thinks you should be made to, too. He, along with the effeminate Macron, believes you should be starved into submission—for no man in France, after 1 August, will be able to buy or sell without the Mark of the Vex.

Connolly the Tyrant believes it is your duty to be vexxed, arguing that if you are vexxed you are “protected”, and if you are not vexxed, you are unprotected. And that you have no right to be unvexxed, because, being unprotected, you could become infected and in turn infect somebody else who is unvexxed.

To which the best rebuttal is So?

If I choose to be unvexxed, and the vexxine is cost free and protective, then it is my choice. If I go on, after being infected myself, to infect somebody else who has chosen to be unvexxed, what is that to Connolly? This will not affect him in any way. Yet he would still force us to do what he thinks best.

“No, Briggs, you don’t get it. The unvaccinated are infecting the vaccinated.”

That so?

“It is so, yes, you dangerous spreader.”

Then why get the vexxine?

“But Briggs, if you get sick, you have to go to the hospital and be taken care of. That costs society.”

If I take the vexx and get sick from it or even the COVID, I’d have to go to the hospital and be taken care of. That costs society.

We expect tyranny and madness from our rulers in these days. What galls is people and Experts who promise medical passes will stop with coronadoom vexxination passes.

Imagine having to carry papers with you everywhere at all times, and for the rest of your lives everywhere at all times, to show that you have had the coroandom vexxination. Plus the twice yearly forever and ever boosters.

No papers? No problem! No food for you!

VEXXINE EFFECTIVENESS

I reminded us last week that we predicted last December that advertised rates of vexxine effectiveness would fall to soberer numbers. We now have multiple reports of falling effectiveness. Recall—strain your memories—the efficacy was given in terms of infections.

We should have though this odd from the beginning, because the mRNA vexxine is not meant to protect you from contracting infections, but it was said it would protect in preventing illness from infections. If it works as advertised, the vexxine makes your body produce similar spike proteins the bug does, and your body, if it can do its duty, figures out how to quell these spikes. But it never gets the chance to figure out how to quell the bug itself.

Not all bodies can handle the artificially injected toxin makers, which is how serious side effects come about. This is a forbidden topic, which is how you know it’s The Science.

I therefore predicted (see bottom of this) the experimental efficacies, which were in the high 90s, would drop to soberer levels.

Which is why you must not look at “cases”, i.e. positive tests, which have zero information about illness extent. (How many times have you heard that?)

Well, it’s happening. People are beginning to notice. Not in those places that mandate The Science. Israel, at least, is admitting it:

The effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine against the Delta variant is “weaker” than health officials had hoped, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said on Friday, as over 1,000 people tested positive for coronavirus and more countries were added to the list of places to which Israelis will be banned from traveling.

“We do not know exactly to what degree the vaccine helps, but it is significantly less,” Bennett said.

The Dreaded Delta, of course. But we have worked ourselves into the hersterical mindset that all “cases” are bad. Which, for a respiratory virus, is crazy. I mean this word in its literal sense.

“Cases”—which are just positive tests in an increasing testing regime—are not that interesting. Notice that the media everywhere stopped reporting on deaths? That picture shows why.

The media can’t help by shade, obfuscate, temporize, cheat, finagle, and, yes, even lie. Well, they are told to by their bosses.

I noticed a curious phenomenon where media stories will report how most of the people in ICU in a given area are unvaccinated but often when you tracked-down the original source of the comment it would be “unvaccinated or not-fully-vaccinated,” which is quite a different thing. https://t.co/rjeXIMWurq

Despite this, even the Liberal San Jose Mercury admitted that in California “[COVID] Cases are falling in five counties with below-average vaccination” while cases are “spreading fast in well-vaccinated California counties”:  COVID spreading fast in well-vaccinated California counties

Cases are falling in five counties with below-average vaccination

California and its big coastal cities have embraced vaccines to beat back the COVID-19 pandemic. But a Bay Area News Group analysis shows not only are cases rising fast in much of the Golden State, they are soaring in many urban counties that boast high vaccination rates.

Five California counties have both a higher percentage of their eligible residents fully vaccinated and a higher average daily case rate than the statewide average: Los Angeles, San Diego, Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco. The five counties with falling case rates — Modoc, Glenn, Lassen, Del Norte, San Benito — have below-average vaccination rates.[https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/07/24/covid-spreading-fast-in-well-vaccinated-california-counties/]

Stop for a moment of silence, ask Jesus Christ what He wants you to do now and next. In this silence remember God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost – Three Divine Persons yet One God, has an ordered universe where you can know truth and falsehood as well as never forget that He wants you to have eternal happiness with Him as his son or daughter by grace. Make this a practice. By doing this you are doing more good than reading anything here or anywhere else on the Internet.

Francis Notes:

– Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:

“[T]he Pope… WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See.”
(The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)

Saint Robert Bellarmine, also, said “the Pope heretic is not deposed ipso facto, but must be declared deposed by the Church.”

White House Cuts Audio as Joe Biden Jokes About Stranded Americans

Joe Biden’s inability to control his faculties has become more and more obvious over the last seven-plus months of his presidency. In what is almost certainly a symptom of his declining mental state, the president has had numerous angry outbursts and tone-deaf moments since taking office. Today was the scene of another awkward interaction that crossed the line into being outright offensive.

While talking about cybersecurity — because there’s apparently nothing more important going on — NBC News’ Peter Alexander asked Biden about what would happen if Americans still remain in Afghanistan after the 8/31 deadline.

That’s when the White House cut the audio feed to obscure his answer.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-0&features=eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X2hvcml6b25fdHdlZXRfZW1iZWRfOTU1NSI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJodGUiLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3NwYWNlX2NhcmQiOnsiYnVja2V0Ijoib2ZmIiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH19&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1430599105710108672&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fredstate.com%2Fbonchie%2F2021%2F08%2F25%2Fwhite-house-cuts-audio-as-joe-biden-jokes-about-stranded-americans-n432667&sessionId=d04c264832d4ccc2e5a8e10f539c9f5ef8f55d82&siteScreenName=RedState&theme=light&widgetsVersion=1890d59c%3A1627936082797&width=550px

Luckily, there was a radio pooler in attendance who was recording and we now know what the president said. Per Alexander and multiple other people in the room, Biden actually made a joke about the Americans left stranded in the collapsed, war-torn nation, cracking a smile as he did so.

You can see why they cut the audio.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-1&features=eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X2hvcml6b25fdHdlZXRfZW1iZWRfOTU1NSI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJodGUiLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3NwYWNlX2NhcmQiOnsiYnVja2V0Ijoib2ZmIiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH19&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1430595335685017605&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fredstate.com%2Fbonchie%2F2021%2F08%2F25%2Fwhite-house-cuts-audio-as-joe-biden-jokes-about-stranded-americans-n432667&sessionId=d04c264832d4ccc2e5a8e10f539c9f5ef8f55d82&siteScreenName=RedState&theme=light&widgetsVersion=1890d59c%3A1627936082797&width=550px

I know it’s cliche, but take a trip with me and imagine this were Donald Trump (or really any Republican) joking about Americans being trapped behind enemy lines due to a situation of his own making. I don’t think I’m exaggerating by saying it would be a two-month news cycle much like the false Russian bounty story. There’d be mental health “experts” on CNN saying he’s unfit for office while seven-member MSNBC panels ripped him apart as tone-deaf and insulting.

Yet, because this is Joe Biden, no one says anything. It’s the starkest double standard in politics.

Regardless, on the merits, this is about as gross as it gets. Just this morning, I read the harrowing account of an American citizen from New Jersey who has tried to get to the Kabul airport multiple times. She’s been turned back and is now hiding out in her home with a group of SIV applicants who were also denied passage. These people have nowhere to go and are being forced to make impossible decisions. Does she leave children behind to die? Or does she stay and attempt to protect them? That’s not a decision she should have to make, but she does because Joe Biden is a complete failure as president.

The point is that this is a deadly serious situation. It is not funny to make light of the ongoing suffering by popping off at reporters with smart-alec remarks instead of just answering basic questions. None of this is a joke, and that Biden is treating it as one is more proof he’s unqualified to hold the office he holds.

Let’s also pay attention to the fact that his handlers simply can’t protect him anymore. They tried to cut the audio but the president’s remarks got out anyway. Biden may not be in control of his own administration, but those who are can’t keep him in line. His mental state is becoming more of a liability, with him being five hours late for a presser yesterday only to show up half-alive being one of the latest examples.

None of this is normal. None of it should be treated as normal. The only reason this isn’t a major scandal is that Biden has the right letter next to his name.https://buy.tinypass.com/checkout/template/cacheableShow?aid=xi5T3o1hTs&templateId=OT0UW1PVIRL9&offerId=fakeOfferId&experienceId=EXF9EGJFGMTI&iframeId=offer_e4d9c571849523a403fb-0&displayMode=inline&pianoIdUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fid.tinypass.com%2Fid%2F&widget=template Share  Tweet

Jorge Bergolio DISTURBED A JEWISH HORNET’S NEST ON AUGUST 11, TWO WEEKS AGO

Letter #94, 2021, Wednesday, August 25: Galatians

Inbox

Dr. Robert Moynihan via icontactmail4.com 8:05 PM (1 hour ago)
to me
“Why the law?” (Galatians 3:19) Pope Francis, in his public catechesis of August 11, two weeks ago, citing St. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians. There St. Paul deals with this question, as Francis formulates it: “If the Holy Spirit exists, if Jesus exists who redeemed us, why the law?” With this catechesis, Francis touched off a debate with leading Jewish rabbis in Israel, who wrote to Pope Francis to express their concern     “In making the Covenant with Israel, God offered them the Torah, the Law, so they could understand his will and live in justice. We have to think that at that time, a Law like this was necessary, it was a tremendous gift that God gave his people. Why? Because at that time paganism was everywhere, idolatry was everywhere and human behaviour was a result of idolatry. Because of this, the great gift God gave his people is the law, so they could persevere.” —Pope Francis, in the same public teaching of August 11    “The Apostle explains to the Galatians that, in reality, the Covenant and the Law are not linked indissolubly – the Covenant with God and the Mosaic Law. The first element he relies on is that the Covenant established by God with Abraham was based on faith in the fulfillment of the promise and not on the observance of the Law that did not yet exist. Abraham began his journey centuries before the Law.” —Pope Francis, in the same August 11 teaching    “The Apostle writes: ‘This is what I mean: the law, which came four hundred and thirty years afterward [with Moses], does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God [with Abraham when He called him], so as to make the promise void.’” —Pope Francis, in the same teaching    “Such an argument disqualifies all those who sustain that the Mosaic Law was a constitutive part of the Covenant. No, the Covenant comes first, and the call came to Abraham. The Torah, the Law, in fact, was not included in the promise made to Abraham.” —Ibid.    “Having said this, one should not think, however, that Saint Paul was opposed to the Mosaic Law. No, he observed it. Several times in his Letters, he defends its divine origin and says that it possesses a well-defined role in the history of salvation. The Law, however, does not give life, it does not offer the fulfillment of the promise because it is not capable of being able to fulfill it. The Law is a journey, a journey that leads toward an encounter. Paul uses a word, I do not know if it is in the text, a very important word: the law is the “pedagogue” toward Christ, the pedagogue toward faith in Christ, that is, the teacher that leads you by the hand toward the encounter (cf. Gal 3:24). Those who seek life need to look to the promise and to its fulfillment in Christ.” —Ibid.    “The Law leads us to Jesus. But one of you might say to me: ‘But, Father, just one thing: does this mean that if I pray the Creed, I do not need to observe the commandments?’ No, the commandments are valid in the sense that they are ‘pedagogues’ [teachers] that lead you toward the encounter with Christ. But if you set aside the encounter with Jesus and want to go back to giving greater importance to the commandments, this was the problem of these fundamentalist missionaries who had infiltrated the Galatians to confuse them.” —Ibid.    “Against those who urged the Galatians to obey the precepts of the Law of Moses, Paul replies that the Law was always in the service of God’s Covenant with his people. The Covenant was itself based not on the observance of the Law but on faith in the fulfilment of God’s promises. Now that God has definitively fulfilled those promises in the paschal mystery of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection, those who believe in the Gospel are set free from the demands of the Law. The newness of the Christian life, then, is born of our response to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, who brings the Law to fulfilment in the new commandment of love.” —Summary of the Holy Father’s words in his public teaching of august 11, 2021, in Rome        “Convey our distress to Pope Francis.” —Rabbi Rasson Arousi, President of the Commission of the Grand Rabbinate of Israel for Dialogue with the Holy See. In the letter from, the Jewish authorities said they were “worried” that what Pope Francis taught seemed to suggest that the Jewish Law is obsolete, and they asked Pope Francis for a clarification of what was said in a catechesis on August 11. In a sense, the letter was a sort of “dubium” (“doubt” or “question”) proposed by these Jewish leaders to Pope Francis. Vatican officials said they were studying the letter and considering a response    “Hypocrites are people who pretend, flatter and deceive because they live with a mask over their faces and do not have the courage to face the truth. For this reason, they are not capable of truly loving: a hypocrite does not know how to love…     Hypocrisy in the Church is particularly detestable; and unfortunately, hypocrisy exists in the Church and there are many hypocritical Christians and ministers.” —Pope Francis today, August 25, two weeks after the August 11 catechesis cited in all of the quotations above, as he continued his teaching on the Letter to the Galatians    ***    Letter #94, 2021, Wednesday, August 25: Feast of St. Louis IX, King of France (1214-1270)        The “old covenant” of the Law, and the “new covenant” of Christ    A Catholic-Jewish theological controversy was revealed today in Rome.    It had to do with remarks Pope Francis made two weeks ago, on August 11, as he commented on St. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians.    The revelation came in a Reuters report by the agency’s Vatican correspondent, Philip Pullella.    Here below is that report.    Then, at the bottom of this letter, the complete text of three of the Pope’s recent Wednesday catecheses:     (1) Wednesday, August 11;     (2) Wednesday, August 18, and     (3) Wednesday, August 25…     …all on this topic of the relationship between the Law and Christ, between the Old Covenant (the Old Testament) and the New Covenant (the New Testament).    With a link at the very end to an interesting supplemental article. —RM    ***    Israeli rabbis ask pope to clarify remarks on Jewish law    By Philip Pullella    August 25, 2021    Vatican City (Reuters) – Israel’s top Jewish religious authorities have told the Vatican they are concerned about comments that Pope Francismade about their books of sacred law and have asked for a clarification.    In a letter seen by Reuters, Rabbi Rasson Arousi, chair of the Commission of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel for Dialogue with the Holy See, said the comments appeared to suggest Jewish law was obsolete.    Vatican authorities said they were studying the letter and were considering a response.    Rabbi Arousi wrote a day after the pope spoke about the Torah, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, during a general audience on Aug. 11.    The Torah contains hundreds of commandments, or mitzvot, for Jews to follow in their everyday lives. The measure of adherence to the wide array of guidelines differs between Orthodox Jews and Reform Jews.    At the audience, the pope, who was reflecting on what St. Paul said about the Torah in the New Testament, said: “The law (Torah) however does not give life.    “It does not offer the fulfilment of the promise because it is not capable of being able to fulfil it … Those who seek life need to look to the promise and to its fulfilment in Christ.”    Rabbi Arousi sent the letter on behalf of the Chief Rabbinate – the supreme rabbinic authority for Judaism in Israel – to Cardinal Kurt Koch, whose Vatican department includes a commission for religious relations with Jews.    “In his homily, the pope presents the Christian faith as not just superseding the Torah; but asserts that the latter no longer gives life, implying that Jewish religious practice in the present era is rendered obsolete,” Arousi said in the letter.    “This is in effect part and parcel of the ‘teaching of contempt’ towards Jews and Judaism that we had thought had been fully repudiated by the Church,” he said.    Improved Relations    Relations between Catholics and Jews were revolutionised in 1965, when the Second Vatican Council repudiated the concept of collective Jewish guilt for the death of Jesus and began decades of inter-religious dialogue. Francis and his two predecessors visited synagogues.    Two leading Catholic scholars of religious relations with Jews agreed that the pope’s remarks could be seen as a troublesome setback and needed clarification.    “To say that this fundamental tenet of Judaism does not give life is to denigrate the basic religious outlook of Jews and Judaism. It could have been written before the Council,” said Father John Pawlikowski, former director of the Catholic-Jewish Studies Program at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.    “I think it’s a problem for Jewish ears, especially because the pope’s remarks were addressed to a Catholic audience,” said Professor Philip Cunningham, director of the Institute for Jewish-Catholic Relations at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.    “It could be understood as devaluing Jewish observance of the Torah today,” Cunningham said.    Arousi and Pawlikowski said it was possible that a least part of the pope’s teaching homily, known as a catechesis, was written by aides and that the phrase was not properly vetted.    Koch’s office said on Wednesday he had received the letter, was “considering it seriously and reflecting on a response.”    Francis has had a very good relationship with Jews. While still archbishop in native Buenos Aires, he co-wrote a book with one of the city’s rabbis, Abraham Skorka, and has maintained a lasting friendship with him.    In his letter to Cardinal Koch, Arousi asked him to “convey our distress to Pope Francis” and asked for a clarification from the pope to “ensure that any derogatory conclusions drawn from this homily are clearly repudiated.”    [End, Reuters report]    =================    The controversy was also mentioned today in the widely followed Il Sismografo blog, here:    Judaism authorities in Israel ask the Holy Father for clarification on some of the statements made in the catechesis of 11 August focusing on Paul’s Letter to the Galatians (link)

Rebuilding Catholic Culture. Restoring Catholic Tradition.

Traditionis Custodes: 40 Days Later

 Allan RuhlAugust 25, 20210 Comments

Now can see better where we stand.

The traditional Roman Rite has no shortage of enemies in the Roman Catholic Church, especially in the generation of Pope Francis. Regarding the Latin Mass (TLM), Francis’ fellow Jesuit Fr. Thomas Reese said back in April that “Children and young people should not be allowed to attend such Masses.” I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more condescending and clericalist statement in my entire life. Obviously Fr. Reese was worried about the youthful demographic in the Church who attend the TLM and who one day will hold positions of power within the Church and the Vatican itself.https://efd9b84eff36c459b8c507ce79caf5f5.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

The rumors started in May that a document to suppress the TLM was in the works. I personally dismissed the rumors but had to swallow my words two months later. It seems to be a collaboration between Pope Francis and the Italian bishops. Sadly, Italy is country with not much of a traditionalist movement. Traditionis Custodes is a harsh document. It makes no secret that Francis doesn’t want the TLM in the Church. He wants it dead and desires the young families who attend it to conform to the most liberal tendencies of the Church. Fortunately, last month has shown us that he isn’t going to get his wish.

Traditionis Custodes was published on July 16. I knew that very day that it would fail and the last month is proof of that. The traditionalist movement exists in many countries but has its center of gravity in America, France, and England. Most diocesan bishops in those countries simply said that the TLM in their dioceses will continue as normal.

In the days after Traditionis Custodes was published I contacted traditional Catholics across the world to see if they had lost their liturgy and was pleased to discover that their TLMs are proceeding as usual. This includes people in Canada, America, France, England, Germany, and Latin America. I personally know no one who had a TLM before July 16 who doesn’t have it now. Obviously the odd TLM has disappeared, depriving some Catholics of the ancient liturgy of the Church but those are certainly the exceptions. The motu proprio stated that it was to take effect immediately. Forty days later, according to TraditionisCustodes.info, only 8.5% of reporting dioceses have outright suppressed the Latin Mass (in accordance with the letter and spirit of the motu prioprio).[1]

Francis probably believed that half of the TLMs in America would disappear inside of a week since he clearly expressed contempt for the ancient liturgy of the Church in Traditionis Custodes. Pope Francis probably expected conservative and more traditional leaning bishops to hold on to their TLMs but even large amounts of liberal bishops have decided to keep their diocesan TLMs. This probably comes as a shock to a lot of people, including Francis. Most liberal bishops are fine with having a TLM in their diocese for those who wish to attend it. After all, these communities raise devout Catholic children, produce vocations and bring in a lot of money.

Traditionis Custodes has accomplished little in terms of combating the TLM and the traditionalist movement. The one thing that it has done is provide exposure. The whole world now knows how the Holy Father feels about the traditional liturgy. He’s shown the world his hand and cannot hide behind a poker face any longer.

The response of non-TLM Catholics has been the most encouraging part and it hasn’t been kind in terms of response. George Weigel, for example, who describes himself as “a Novus Ordo man” has come down hard on Francis. In First Things he wrote that Traditionis Custodes was “a sorry example of the liberal bullying that has become all too familiar in Rome recently.” Even bishops who have never celebrated the Old Rite are coming out forcibly against the Roman Pontiff.

In times of despair people need encouragement. As bad as the Francis pontificate has been, what has motivated me and others is the perseverance of fellow orthodox Catholics. Despite the hard times we’re hanging in there and it’s encouraging to see. Traditionis Custodes tore Summorum Pontificum to shreds; it showed us that it wasn’t infallible or written in stone. However, Traditionis Custodes isn’t infallible or written in stone either. It has had little affect and one day a sober minded Pontiff will override this offensive document.

Young men with views like Francis are hardly attending Mass anymore and certainly aren’t entering the seminaries. Just days before the motu proprio attacked the surging traditional vocations, Fr. Thomas Reese wrote that “Finding young candidates for the priesthood…who support Francis and want to be celibate is like looking for Catholic unicorns.” Jesus is King and no liberal Pope or bishop can ever change that. The traditional Roman rite and the priests who say it will continue to grow. The last month has shown that not even a document issued from the Holy Father himself can stop it.

[1] Editor’s Note: TraditionisCustodes.info is reporting data from 212 worldwide dioceses, of which 18 suppressed all TLMs and 17 restricted them, while the rest left them alone. The number of dioceses with Latin Masses is higher than this, but this percentage also accords with the anecdotal data from reliable sources we have consulted. As time goes on, the numbers will become more accurate as more data is available.

Crisis of Courage

By: Judd Garrett

Objectivity is the Objective

August 25, 2021

We have all seen it many times. It happens way too often. We may have even succumbed to it ourselves. A young child standing in an aisle in Target, or Walmart, or Toys-R-Us, red faced, screaming at the top of his lungs, stomping his feet, demanding the new Paw Patrol toy, or a bag of Skittles, and the parents give him what he wants to quiet him down, choosing to give into his fit of anger to avoid an embarrassing public scene. They chose the easy way out, the short-term solution.

But what happens when you reward bad behavior? You get more of it, not less. Every time that child wants something, he will throw a fit because he knows that is the best way to get his parents to give him what he wants. The parents didn’t demand that the child behaves properly and respectfully to get the toy; they didn’t require that the child performs chores to get the candy, the parents used the toy to stop him from acting out, and they will wake up one day with a child who throws fit after fit after fit. It’s not the child’s fault, it’s the parents fault. They trained him that way. When we chose quiet over peace, we become slaves to the empty drums.

Eleven days after the United States military left Afghanistan, Kabul fell to the Taliban which begs the question, why is the Taliban still in existence? We were in Afghanistan for 20 years, and the Taliban is still standing? How did that happen? Why were they not obliterated 19 years ago? The Taliban is an empirically evil group, so there is no gray area on what needed to be done to them. Did we not want the optics that comes with destroying them? But their continued existence is the colossal failure of our time in Afghanistan. And what is the result of our failure? Afghan women have lost all rights and privileges, 12-year-old girls are being raped on a regular basis by the Taliban, gays will be dropped off the highest buildings. Our fingerprints are all over every single one of those rapes and murders because we had 20 years to obliterate the Taliban, and we did not do it.

One of the main reason the Taliban still exists is that Pakistan has supported and protected them for years. So, we give Pakistan over one billion dollars every year, and they take our money and use it to fund our enemies, the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Again, why do we give Pakistan any money? What have they done to deserve our generosity? They have nuclear weapons, and we are scared that they may use them. So, all they must do is saber-rattle, and we immediately pay their demands in money to “keep the peace”, no different than the parent at Toys-R-Us. We purchase the short-term peace, even though we know that money will be used to fund warring machines that will continue to destroy any chance at long-term peace.

This what happens when we chose quiet over peace, when we chose to placate the problem instead of confronting the problem. In 2015, to get Iran to agree to the politically expedient nuclear deal, the Obama administration handed the mullahs in Iran hundreds of millions of dollars. Our army flew palates stacked 10-feet high with US dollar bills to Iran, the leading state sponsor of terrorism, with the promise that the mullahs would agree not to develop a nuclear weapon. What happened? Iran continued with their nuclear program, developing centrifuges, and testing long range missile capabilities, knowing full well, the closer they get to becoming nuclear, the more money we will send them not to launch their missiles, and that money will be used to fund terrorism. America has become the ultimate bad parent in the world, continually rewarding bad behavior for temporary peace.

America and Americans fall for these tactics all the time, though. Black Lives Matter riots in our cities, burning, bombing, killing, and maiming, and instead of arresting the rioters we hand their organization hundreds of millions of dollars to placate them, hoping they will stop rioting. Their leaders simply buy million-dollar mansions, and they encourage more rioting. This has become a regular cottage industry for them. We reward the bad behavior, and now have become slaves to the bad behavior.

We shouldn’t be surprised that BLM and Antifa have been emboldened. We have been treating left wing domestic terrorists with kid gloves for the last 50 years. On Monday, on his way out the door, former New York governor Andrew Cuomo decided to grant clemency to domestic terrorist David Gilbert, of the Weather Underground, who was convicted of murdering two police officers and a security guard while attempting the infamous Brinks Heist in 1981.

After the bombing, Gilbert went into hiding, living with two other domestic terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers who bombed the Pentagon, the US Capital Building and the New York City Police department. Both terrorists are close friends with former President Barack Obama and were Professors at Northwestern and University of Illinois at Chicago. So, if you are conservative, and you simply trespass at the Capital Building, you are placed in solitary confinement for 7 months, but if you are liberal, and you bomb the Capital Building, you get a cushy professorship at an elite University, and become close friends with a former Democrat President?

These are the same tactics that the “woke” are using to destroy our culture and society today. The “woke” are social and cultural terrorists. If someone says or does something they do not like, they throw a fit, threaten businesses, demand they are fired, and we comply with their irrational demands because we will always choose quiet over peace. We lack the courage to stand up for what is right over what is expedient.

Our lack of courage to stand against the bad actors and stand up for what is right has brought us to this point in time. So, what if Pakistan has nuclear weapons, they still should have to behave properly without us paying them off. We have thousands of nuclear weapons ourselves. We should never give Pakistan another dime, point a hundred nuclear weapons at them, and tell them to shut up and behave. You are risking a nuclear war, some will argue. What are we risking by paying hundreds of millions of dollars to Pakistan who funds the Taliban and Al Qaeda, or to Iran, the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world, or to Black Lives Matter, the leading domestic terrorist organization in our country?

If you haven’t noticed, the world is falling apart or being torn apart. Our country is disintegrating before our eyes. Why? Because America in its wealth and arrogance has decided to pay people and groups handsomely for their bad behavior, thinking it will stop their bad behavior. And like the child at Target, it shuts them up temporarily until they want something else, and then they behave badly again, until we reward them again, and the vicious cycle continues until civil society is destroyed.

Democrats Will Have Hard Time Papering Over This Shambles with Trump Hate

By:CONRAD BLACK,

August 25, 2021

It might seem that there is little to be added to what the whole world has witnessed viewing the unutterable shambles of the U.S. departure from Afghanistan. But that would be an illusion. The story of the perilous departure from Afghanistan of NATO forces and civilians and their Afghan collaborators who are now in mortal danger is obviously a matter of great suspense.

The United States could certainly tell the Taliban government of Afghanistan that if all those whom the Western powers wished to evacuate were not allowed to leave it would be an act of war. If there were the will to act on that ultimatum, it would be successful.

Under the circumstances, though, the credibility of such a threat would probably have to be proved by acting on it. As some commentators have mentioned, this would be morally justified and is morally required, and the administration would simply have to accept that it has bungled the withdrawal and must execute an immediate but brief return. The Biden Administration, after seven months, has shown no competence whatever in foreign or national security policy.

A moron would know that when evacuation is intended, the vulnerable, the civilians, the dependents, and the local supporters should all be evacuated under cover of the military and the armed forces should leave last in an orderly manner and in a well-covered and protected retreat.

The United States had the military capability to do this and the explanation for not doing it, from Secretary of State Antony Blinken, has been that everyone in Afghanistan and the whole world had plenty of notice that the Americans were leaving. He should have been fired within one minute of uttering that statement.

President Biden, in his address August 16, in his midweek interview with George Stephanopoulos, and in his address on Friday, uttered a series of egregious falsehoods that were quickly exposed. He said there was no expression of discontent from America’s allies. For the first time in history, references to an American president in the British Parliament were met with shouts of “shame.”

When Thomas Tugendhat, the chairman of the House of Commons Foreign Relations Committee and a retired colonel who served with distinction in Afghanistan and was decorated by the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division for combat bravery, said that it was shameful for a commander-in-chief who has not served under his own colors to mock the sacrifice of men who have, all parties in the British House agreed. No American president has been so severely or — unfortunately — deservedly insulted.

No American, consuming only mainstream media narratives, would realize that there were three times as many allied forces from assorted NATO countries in Afghanistan as there were Americans, or that they were not consulted before the Americans abruptly departed and brought the roof down on all of them.

The Western alliance, as former President Trump emphasized, has its problems. Most of the members were not pulling their weight. Germany, the strongest NATO country after the United States, has almost disarmed and has effectively made itself a Russian energy satellite through the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline. But they did not deserve this.

After this horrifying fiasco, where the Americans scuttled and turned tail and left their European allies and Canada to fend for themselves, the NATO members have already indicated that they are in no mood to follow this administration anywhere. No one can blame them.

Mr. Biden said on Friday that the United States was not sending armored vehicles to collect its citizens and bring them to Kabul airport as the British and French were doing because, he explained, Americans were not being stopped by Taliban checkpoints. Half an hour later, the inarticulate Pentagon spokesman John Kirby squarely contradicted his commander-in-chief, and the official explanation was changed to advise Americans not to try to reach the airport because of the danger.

Mr. Biden said the Afghans wouldn’t fight so they weren’t worth the risk of American lives; but 50,000 Afghan soldiers and scores of thousands of civilians have died in this war. No Americans have died in Afghanistan in 18 months (in stark contrast to the soaring crime rates in almost all American cities).

As Mr. Tugendhat told the House of Commons, it is not for the commander-in-chief of this cowardly, shameful, and disastrous flight from American national responsibilities, who has never served in his own armed forces, to disparage those who have died in allied forces for a cause that he has abandoned and doomed.

The one potentially positive aspect of this horrible debacle has been the unarguable revelation that the president is not up to his job.

I would certainly wish to give him the benefit of the excuse of declining mental and physical powers, although I never imagined that even at the height of his powers the defamer of Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas, the candidate who cribbed a campaign message from a twice-defeated leader of Britain’s Labor Party, and a man who cannot tell the truth even about his own university background or most other things, could serve successfully in such a great office.

The powers that be in the Democratic Party plucked him out of the ditch where the primary voters had left him and put him in as president to execute Senator Bernie Sanders’ socialist platform. The administration has been a pantomime horse with the front legs and the back attached to different torsos.

It has been a catastrophic failure in every field: foreign and defense policy, illegal immigration, crime, inflation, and even the COVID-19 pandemic, which was the Democrats’ chief ally in getting elected, both through the incitement of public hysteria and as the excuse in the selective rigging of voting and vote-counting rules.

In the consistency of its failures and its evident incapacity to govern effectively, this has been the most catastrophic presidency in American history. Though it must be admitted that at this point the consequences of the errors of the Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan administrations, which brought on the Civil War, and of the Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover administrations, which brought on the Great Depression and facilitated the outbreak of World War II, were more damaging than the Biden Administration’s blunders are likely to be — if it ends soon.

Messrs. Biden and Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan should all resign at once, after Biden has fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Mark Milley. They are jointly responsible for the most horrible foreign policy fiasco in American history, and, to compound matters, they have all lied to the public and to Congress about it.

President Obama said Mr. Sullivan is “wicked smart.” He may have been half right. General Milley should have been court-martialed for denouncing President Trump’s walk to the church of the presidents after the attempted destruction of it by arson in June 2020, in which General Milley participated.

The Obama-elevated senior officer corps of the U.S. armed forces now believes that white racism and climate change are the principal obstacles to U.S. national security. Any officer above one star who believes that bunk should be sacked, and no retiring officer should be allowed near a corporate boardroom in a defense-related industry for five years after leaving the service.

The woke movement conducted by Presidents Biden and Obama has rotted and corroded most of the American state following the American academy and the national political media — they have atrophied in choreographed synchronization.

If this horrible fiasco contributes to the radical change of course necessary in American political society, it will be worth it — though it is cruelly unjust that the population of Afghanistan should pay for it. Americans might also wish to reflect on the fact that having smashed up Iraq and helped to foment the disintegration of Syria and Yemen and now, after attempting and having failed to drag Afghanistan into the 21st century, some level of self-criticism is justified.

The motives were positive, but no one can say that any of those countries is in better condition today because of the American-led interventions there. Hundreds of thousands have died, and millions displaced, largely because of American interventions in the Middle East.

The United States should show some awareness of what it has done, rather than simply cursing the Afghans for not fighting harder after they’ve been abandoned by their Great American champions. America desperately needs new people, new policies, and new public attitudes.

American students are taught to hate their country, and police are defunded and restrained to assure higher crime rates, while over-decorated military officers fret about wokeness and the climate. It all must stop and back up. At least the Democrats will not be able to paper over these shambles with more Trump-hate. That ship sailed and has sunk.

Teleologic Transmutations Toward Totalitarianism

Or

How the left is transforming our nation toward Marxism

By: Dr. Stan Alex

fordrstan@yahoo.com

August 25, 2021

People have said that if you tell a lie often enough people will eventually believe it, but that does not make it the truth. Can that tactic work? Sometimes, especially if the audience does not have a great fund of knowledge on the issue or simply wants to believe it, whereupon it can become dogma. But if you debate an issue the debate winner should be the one who can clarify all the intricacies and the structure of the premises underpinning any conclusion and refute alternative theories. An issue of point [or sore spot for me] is the claim that the US has one of the poorest outcomes in infant mortality of Western Countries; and therefore, there is a rationale the government to take control over or fundamentally change our health care system – and thereby control up to 1/6 of our government’s budget.

The AMA did a study here, at my request, and found that different countries define infant mortality employing different measures: for some the newborn just must leave labor and delivery alive and for others the baby must survive outside of the hospital for a specified period of time, like up to the first birthday. We use the tougher criterion. So previously we compared apples and oranges. More importantly, what was found was that US obstetrical care and neonatal services are presented with more low and very low birthweight infants than other comparable countries. The root cause was determined to be a cultural issue rather than medical, i.e., not in health care delivery itself. In fact, we do as well or better with survival rates with those very low birthweight presentations than do other comparable countries. But you won’t likely hear that narrative: it doesn’t help certain politicians’ agendas. In this scenario some have been conveniently using a presumptive outcome or a preconception to substitute for causality.

Teleology is a mechanism for substituting popular myths, ‘folklore,’ partial truths, wishful thinking, and political or establishment ‘opinion’ in place of evidence-based research. Traditionally it has been applied to things like studies of evolution, where people are inclined to think that there is a purpose or a directive principle overriding the scientific analysis. In elucidating the Darwinian Model of Evolution (DME), teleologic thinking serves as an “obstacle” to the natural selection model [E. N. Meinardi, Univ Buenos Aires, Oct 2010]. An “obstacle” in this context represents an “established way of thinking that resists change due to its explanatory power.” This is what the younger generation is currently being spoon-fed by academia regarding issues like systemic racism. However, clarification of teleologic thinking and defining it as an obstacle could become a powerful tool for interventions aimed at enhancing or enlightening the recipients thinking. Clearly, this could be a hard sell in that ‘academia’ and left-wing teachers’ unions have deep roots which control the narratives so thoroughly in this country (a brain washing of sorts?) that it’s a high hurdle to overcome. How does this play out in the racism issue?

One of the most important social changes unfolding in the United States in the past half century has been the decline in the institution of marriage [per Dawne Mouzon, Rutgers University, Oct 2015], a decline that is especially steep in Black families. In the 1960s, roughly 74% of White partners were married and this dropped to 56%, a big drop but not bad compared to the plummeting rate amongst Blacks which dropped from 61% to 32% from being the highest in the 1940s [perhaps this is this what is meant by white supremacy?]. Blacks also get divorced more often and remarry less frequently than Whites, but those unwed mothers continue to foster more babies: by 2011, 83% of Black babies were born into out-of-wedlock families.  People on the left argue that its ‘due to social deprivation (such that) it’s hard for Black women to find suitable partners,’ but isn’t that an inevitable consequence of such a (putatively toxic) social cycle? Isn’t that just a form of circular logic? And note, the thread for this goes back to Africa where the matriarchal single parent family (SPF) was common (See: African-American Family Structure, Wikipedia). Is that a problem? Answer: you bet!

In the 1970s, the (now tarnished) actor and author, Bill Cosby astutely noted that when you raise a child in a father-less family “it’s a concern” but to have a “whole neighborhood of father-less children is a catastrophe.” While Cosby had observed this first-hand, the most important statistical confirmation of father-less family dysfunction had come in 1964 by Daniel Patrick Moynihan, then Assist Secretary of Labor, while garnering data for a speech at Howard University for President Lyndon B Johnson. What he found was initially confusing then stunning: for decades the rates of unemployment and applications for welfare had risen and fallen in unison. Then in the early 1960s, as unemployment fell, applications for welfare inexplicably shot up. The lines crossed (scissored). The resultant conclusion: there was (1) an entrenched transgenerational cycle of poverty, which was largely Black, which was (2) intertwined with loss of the nuclear family – again amongst Blacks.  This became known as “Moynihan’s Scissors.” Please check out:  U-Tube – Moynihan’s Scissors – The importance of the two-parent family.

Moynihan, later US Senator (D-NY), did not know how to address this issue. The government is not good at changing social mores. Governmental monies spent in support of SPFs, such as Aid to Dependent Children (ADC), Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) plus the now pending “infrastructure bills” of 2021, are actually toxic in that they promote an ingrained structural anomaly, where the government becomes the “pseudo father.”

Marriage has historically provided many benefits.  Individuals who are married enjoy better mental and physical health; have more social ties and higher income; accumulate more wealth; and raise children who do better in terms of health and social outcomes than the children of unmarried parents. Despite this, some analysts find that Black women place little value on marriage, and pass along such views to the ensuing generations. No, it doesn’t “take a village” to raise a child, but a nuclear family would certainly help.

So, Bill Cosby was prescient: the neighborhood of Black SPFs, as defined by him and Senator Moynihan, often did became a catastrophe and, in turn, became associated by a ‘tangle of pathology’ which included:

  • Nearly 6/10 children from such SPFs were at or near the poverty level,
  • School drop-out or failure to attain a GED rate was twice as high in such poverty zones,
  • 75% of children/adolescents in chemical dependent units were from a SPF,
  • Over 50% of all incarcerations for criminal acts came from a SPF,
  • 63% of suicides are from such a SPF,
  • 75% of pregnancies  including adolescents – involve SPF.

Obviously, single mothers were not so likely to “shape their children’s character and ability” in a positive way. And if Sexual Liberation made this a problem, Black Pride and Feminism made it impossible.

But Moynihan’s exposé was hit back hard and with outrage by Washington, the Civil Rights leaders, academicians, and the civil servants of the ‘permanent government.’ They proclaimed this was a case of “Blaming the victim.”  The NY Times wrote an opposition series, “Class Matters,” where they completely ignored Moynihan’s observations from his seminal report, The Negro Family, a Time for National Action.

According to Kay Hymowitz [Manhattan institute’s City Journal, 2005] several ‘think-tank’ persons noted that welfare policies of the 1960s, not racism or lack of jobs or the legacy of slavery was the cause of inner-city dysfunction and went further to profile the ‘‘welfare mother as the symbol of the ghetto’s ills.” Welfare money in particular “is a disincentive for marriage and is now turning us into a nation of separate but unequal families (Charles Murray) – one thriving and intact, the other struggling and broke.” Further these pundits proclaimed that “the poor would have to change their behavior instead of waiting for Washington to end poverty.” But the left was having none of this, although one of their own, William J Wilson, urged that (for any alternative theory), “…liberals have to propose thoughtful explanations for the rise in inner-city dislocations.”

No alternative solutions were forthcoming. In fact, the ‘Black Family’ became a growth industry’ inside academe, the foundations and government. Some posited that the nuclear family was really a “toxic White hang-up,” anyway. And no one asked what the nuclear family did or how it prepared children for a modern economy. During this time instead of looking for solutions there became a radical delegitimization of the nuclear family. This is certainly not looking for the root cause of Ghetto dysfunction. The result, ironically, was a galvanizing of religious conservatives around “family values.” At any rate, by failing to define the problem accurately, advocates were in no position to find a solution and the Ghetto underclass goes on, and we continue to pay the price.

So, for the past 57 years we should have known that there was no systemic racism, but those who control the flow of information have dodged the root cause and used a teleologic approach to the inter-city dystrophies, that is, something (a narrative) that suits their defined goal, while, in the meantime, those dystrophies have led to more crime, police confrontations and shootings, thereby inducing riots and lootings and mob violence. And the cause? We are told “White privilege.” Yeah right! But the left has been quite effective at making Caucasians feel the “White guilt.” And making Blacks fear the police. Remember about telling a lie often enough makes it seem like the truth? Well, “here we go again” Ronald Reagan would likely remark.

That does not apply to those of us who have been around since WW-II and have seen the lot of Black families improve to where the great majority were out of poverty, only to devolve to what appeared to be a mass reversal after the 1960s. And as the left imports Critical Race Theory (CRT), we need to be able to fight back, which can only be done by taking charge of the narrative.  Right now, the “obstacle” is leftism or, more specifically, the left-wing press and academia, which is slowly indoctrinating this country with the underpinnings of Marxism (See Mark Levin’s NY Times’ Best-seller: American Marxism – for more in-depth background research on this topic), which will lead to authoritarianism and, potentially, totalitarianism. If you have children or grandchildren, be sure to give them a good dose of true American History and warn them of their school’s teleologic methodologies.

CONCLUSIONTeleologic thinking in relation to humans is a fundamental characteristic of our psyche. The elucidation of its attendant “obstacle” (flaw) to open-mindedness can be a powerful framework for analyzing the implication of certain thought processes and opinions. People need to be cognizant of the existence of such ways of thinking: how it operates, how to distinguish it and how to overcome it. This may not be that simple since the thought process of so many Americans has been turned off or shut down. They simply don’t want to get involved. But without that awareness, the price could be severe.

We are now at a turning point in history, somewhat like the American Civil War in the 1860s. Let’s look at the current predicament, its allegations and cast of characters. On one side is most  of the America people (Caucasians + Asian-Americans), who have been accused of illegal racism, resulting in job suppression causing poverty; Black subjugation to limited residential areas (bondage); providing poor education with attendant  lack of top-level achievement; promoting police brutality and thereby engendering street hoodlums, rioting, looting, crimes and indiscriminate arrests; a ferreting out of successful Black males to White women, ensuring Black women to remain single and their children fatherless, all together resulting in Black victimology and a perennial subclass. These are clearly ‘high crimes and misdemeanors.’ The penalty is: monetary (reparations), humility, re-education camps (CRT) and Socialism, leading to its accompanying totalitarianism. In other words, we could lose the ‘land of the free.’

The Prosecutors are the Civil Rights Leaders, abetted by academia, the Left-wing press and the “Iron Triangle” (bureaucracies, congressional committees, and special interest groups). The Judge – to be determined; and the Jury is y’all, the conscience of the American People.

So, we will need an antidote to this teleologic processing. You just had a tutorial on the actual root cause of the Black community’s ‘failure to thrive.’ We used to simply say, regards their promoters and facilitators, “They have drunk the Kool Aid.” But perhaps we need to review the Jonestown Massacre and the death of their communal People’s Temple in greater detail – to add a little spike to their Kool Aid, helping to awaken their preoccupied neuronal receptors.  In the meantime, our country is in jeopardy of tilting so far left that there might be little chance of returning to the ‘pre-CRT’ version, the one that has served so well, for over 240 years. Our founders dedicated their lives; their personal treasures and their sacred honor for a country of liberty and freedom (not equality) and Patrick Henry famously said, “Give me liberty or give me death,” and previous generations, our white ancestors, have fought to end slavery and passed Civil Rights legislation.  We should not forsake their efforts and hardships and sacrifices for a teleologic phantom, like systemic racism and the potential for totalitarianism.

The Afghanistan I fought for lacks foundation for freedom

By Stephen BarrowsI

I deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. Eleven years later, I watched the Taliban devastate all the progress we fought for. Afghanistan’s chaos and the Taliban’s return to power is heartbreaking and maddening.  Like other veterans who deployed to Afghanistan, my astonishment at what is transpiring is limited only to the speed of the collapse. While historians and political scientists will assess and debate the innumerable missteps during America’s 20-year Afghanistan presence, at least one thing is clear: When the preconditions necessary to secure a free and flourishing society are absent, it is extraordinarily difficult for another nation to impose them, and it is the ordinary citizens of that society who suffer as a consequence. One of these preconditions is anthropological — a civilization must recognize the inherent dignity of the human person if that civilization is to thrive. The Afghan people have been the victims of four decades of violent conflict where torture, death and destruction were commonplace. Such an environment inevitably undermines the value of a person’s humanity. Whatever good the United States and its allies were able to promote in the service of the Afghan people — such as increasing access to a stable school environment for Afghan girls — the Taliban will undoubtedly unravel. According to the U.S. Department of State, the Taliban committed large-scale massacres of civilians in the late 1990s and the situation is again particularly grave for women and the ethnic Hazara minority. Two decades of effort were insufficient to illuminate the Afghan government and army of the Taliban’s barbarism and thus importance of mounting a vigorous defense of their country against them. Few government officials and soldiers possessed an adequate understanding of the dignity of each Afghani, and they folded too easily. Our Afghanistan efforts also failed because the necessary sociological preconditions weren’t there. Human beings are inherently social creatures, which implies that social institutions are exceedingly important for human beings to thrive. But these social institutions must be at the service of the first condition — the dignity of the human person. On the one hand, Afghan culture is known for its custom of hospitality. Indeed, I experienced the warm hospitality of Afghans firsthand. But hospitality is insufficient; societies also have a need for a broad array of social institutions (local and national) that reinforce the duty to treat all men and women with equal dignity and provide a community of reciprocal understanding and trust. Oppressive dominance by the Soviets not only hindered the development of these institutions, but it also actively undermined them through its totalitarian Marxist ideology. After the Soviet withdrawal in 1989, the Taliban repeated the Soviet’s oppression, this time using Islamist ideology. The Taliban’s virtue police thwarted healthy social institutions by severely limiting women’s access to education, work and health care while banning social bonding activities like kite flying. Now, after a 20-year hiatus, it appears that whatever social capital may have been built is now on the cusp of dissolution. Other preconditions for a flourishing and stable society include the rule of law, market commerce and creative entrepreneurial activity. The rule of law, where human rights and private property are respected, must also be consistently and impartially enforced. It is only under these conditions that a commercial society can prosper, and entrepreneurship can create new wealth. Sadly, it is well known that the Afghan government was rife with corruption. This corruption, coupled with incompetence, oftentimes manifested itself in the form of ethnic discrimination. Incensed by injustice, Afghan citizens would turn to the Taliban for extrajudicial remedies. Graft, cronyism, the drug trade and other deeply embedded maladies are not problems quickly overcome. Furthermore, property rights are at best tenuous in a society with endemic conflict.  Regular and violent regime change often paralyzes the conditions under which commercial life thrives. Development economists have long underscored the importance of the rule of law, access to institutions of justice, and defense of property in enabling countries to grow economically. Afghanistan, on the other hand, ranks 165th on Transparency International’s corruption perception index — indicating an abysmal deficiency in the rule of law. Clearly the Afghan government failed in establishing these conditions, and corruption was no small factor in the inevitable collapse. No country can have a thriving commercial sector under these conditions. The United States’ removal of the Taliban after 9/11 was an understandable response to a regime that harbored terrorists. Thousands of heroic military personnel from dozens of countries sacrificed their lives to deter terrorism and give the Afghan people hope. The swiftness of the government’s collapse after 20 years of nation-building is as much an indictment of Afghan government and military as it is a catastrophe for the Afghan people. A sustainable government and flourishing society can only be built under the right conditions. Acknowledging the dignity of the human person, the importance of subsidiary social institutions, a commitment to the rule of law and an embrace of the commercial society are necessary, but they were absent in Afghanistan, largely because of Afghanistan’s violent modern history. Unfortunately, the endgame unfolding now is as unsurprising as it is tragic. This article originally appeared in The Detroit News on August 19, 2021
