A work of infiltration that has found the highest levels of the Church inert and unprepared, intoxicated by the winds of novelty, inadequate in the face of the challenges of modern society, suffering from a sense of inferiority that has led them to believe that they are behind the times and out of fashion. And this, we must recognize, finds its main cause in the lack of a supernatural vision, in having neglected the life of Grace for the benefit of a dissipated activism (…)… (to listen to the rest of the answer, go to this link) ===================== The Words of Paul VI The archbishop mentions the phrase “the smoke of Satan.” It is important to note that this is not a phrase coined by Archbishop Viganò. It is, rather, a famous phrase spoken by St. Pope Paul VI, Pope from 1963 to 1978. On June 29, 1972, in a public address for the celebration of the Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul reflecting on the seven years that had passed by since the end of the Second Vatican Council in 1965, Pope Paul VI said (the official Vatican report, found here, has a few words to give the context, then cites the actual words of Paul VI, which were: “from some crevice [or ‘fissure’] the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God”): ”Referring to the situation of the Church today, the Holy Father affirms that he has the feeling that ‘from some crevice [or “fissure”] the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God.’ [Note: These next words are not cited as direct quotes, but they are intended to give accurately the thought of the Pope.] ”There is doubt, uncertainty, problems, restlessness, dissatisfaction, confrontation. People no longer trust the Church; they trust the first profane prophet who comes to talk to them from some newspaper or some social movement to chase them and have them ask him if he has the formula of true life. And we do not feel that we are already the masters and masters of the formula of true life. A doubt has entered our consciences, and it has entered through windows that instead should have been opened to the light. From science, which is made to give us truths that do not detach us from God but cause us to seek him even more and celebrate with greater intensity, criticism has come instead, doubt has come. Scientists are those who most thoughtfully and most painfully wrinkle their foreheads. And they end up teaching: “I don’t know, we don’t know, we can’t know.” The school becomes a training ground for confusion and sometimes absurd contradictions. Biden’s Pro-Abortion Bill Is Off-The-Charts September 22, 2021 Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on President Biden’s latest pro-abortion bill: “The Administration strongly supports House passage of H.R. 3755, the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2021.” That is the statement released by the White House on September 20. In actual fact, the proposed law has nothing to do with women’s health—it is a pro-abortion bill. This is true notwithstanding the bill’s contention that “Abortion is essential health care and one of the safest medical procedures in the United States.” Essential health care would be things like heart surgery and treatment for Covid, not elective abortion. And it is fatuous to say that it is safe. Safe for whom? The bill maintains that abortion restrictions are “a tool of gender oppression.” If this were true, why were America’s first feminists staunch opponents of abortion? In 1858, Elizabeth Cady Stanton spoke about “the murder of children, either before or after birth.” She branded it “evil.” Similarly, Susan B. Anthony called abortion “child murder” and “infanticide.” So if the first feminists were strongly opposed to abortion—they said it was analogous to treating women as property—when did abortion restrictions become “a tool of gender oppression”? In the 1960s. That was when two men, Lawrence Lader and Dr. Bernard Nathanson (who later became a Catholic and a pro-life activist), convinced feminists such as Betty Friedan that abortion should be seen as an example of women’s liberation. In other words, it took the boys to teach the girls about their own “emancipation.” As for this bill, it is anything but “women friendly.” To be explicit, it would abolish the requirement that abortion can only be performed by a physician, thus allowing mid-wives, nurses and doctor’s assistants to do the job. The bill also eliminates health and safety regulations that are specific to abortion facilities. Now ask yourself this: If a bill were passed that would allow dental hygienists to pull your tooth, and that it could be done in a facility without customary health and safety regulations, would anyone in his right mind consider this to be progress? Iterations of this bill have been introduced every year since 2013, but it wasn’t until this year that dramatically new language was introduced. The neologisms are emblematic of the wild-eyed activists who work in the White House. For example, the bill talks about “reproductive justice” and the necessity of opposing “restrictions on reproductive health, including abortion, that perpetuate systems of oppression, lack of bodily autonomy, white supremacy, and anti-Black racism.” This is the mindset of those who are positively obsessed with race, the kind of people who find discussions about chocolate and vanilla to have racial undertones. Just as some who were obsessed about communism in the 1950s found communism under every pillow, those who work in the Biden administration find racism under every blanket. The bill insists that “Access to equitable reproductive health care, including abortion, has always been deficient” for blacks and other minorities. In actual fact, thanks to Planned Parenthood, this is a lie: access to abortion services have been fantastic for blacks. Planned Parenthood erects 86 percent of its abortion facilities in or near minority neighborhoods in the 25 counties with the most abortions. Although these 25 counties make up just 1 percent of all U.S. counties, they accounted for 30 percent of all the abortions in the U.S. in 2014. Is it any surprise that although blacks comprise roughly 13 percent of the population, they account for at least a third of all the abortions? It is therefore dishonest to claim that they lack access to abortion mills. Another novelty found in this bill is the linguistic game of pretending that males and females can change their sex. For example, it says that abortion services “are used primarily by women (my italic).” This is factually wrong. Only women can get pregnant and only women can abort their child. A man can identify as a woman (or as a gorilla for that matter), but he can never get pregnant. Similarly, the geniuses who wrote this bill make more than two dozen references to “pregnant people”; this is roughly twice as often as they speak of “pregnant women.” Now if a man can get pregnant, in what orifice does his baby exit? His ear? If this isn’t nutty enough, the bill’s authors add that it is their intention “to protect all people with the capacity of becoming pregnant—cisgender women [meaning real women] transgender men [meaning delusional women who think they are a man], non-binary individuals [there is no such breed], those who identify with a different gender [the mentally challenged], and others.” Who the “others” are remains a mystery. Catholics need to take note. Though this “off-the-charts” bill is not likely to pass, it is the expressed desire of our “devout Catholic” president that it should. Biden can carry his rosary to the moon and back, but all that matters are his values and his policies, and in many instances they are anything but Catholic. In the run up to the election, both our current President and Vice-President politicized the vaccines, as they did with every part of the Covid-19 pandemic. The worse the pandemic was, the better their chances of winning the election. They sowed hesitancy in the vaccines, questioning their safety and efficacy purely for political reasons, knowingly risking peoples’ lives solely for their own political power.
And now, Joe Biden announced that he is pushing forward with vaccine mandates because he is frustrated that over 80 million Americans are still not vaccinated. Joe Biden spent months in 2020 creating hesitancy about these vaccines, and now he is blaming and shaming the very people into whom he planted the seed of vaccines-hesitancy for being hesitant to take the vaccines.
The main reason why there is so much vaccine hesitancy has been the poor messaging by the CDC and the White House. The lead spokesman for Covid, Dr. Anthony Fauci, has discredited himself time and again. He told at least 4 provable lies about this virus and vaccines; he lied about masks early in the pandemic; he lied about the possibility of Covid originating from a lab; he lied about his funding of the gain of function research which created this virus; and he continues to lie about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines.
Dr. Fauci claimed the vaccines were safe and effective, when he knew that they did not prevent infection the same way vaccines for other viruses do. That is why he said that vaccinated people had to continue to wear masks and social distance and warned that the unvaccinated are a threat to the vaccinated. These conflicting messages only discredited their pro-vaccine messaging. And as many were weaving through the web of lies and hypocrisies, those who followed orders and got the vaccine were virtue signaling, claiming they are better, and more moral people. And those who didn’t were shamed, and ostracized.
From the beginning, Dr. Fauci, and now the Biden administration have treated the American people like children who could not handle the truth. Instead of being open and honest with us, they chose to lie. Instead of giving us the facts about the vaccines, they told us to shut up and obey. Those who questioned them were mocked, ridiculed, vilified, and blocked on social media. That is absolutely no way to win over people. You win over people and convince them by empathizing with them, and accurately informing them, not by vilifying and lying to them. And now they are implementing vaccine mandates, forcing people to get these medications they don’t want because through their ineptitude they have not effectively convinced the people to get them.
Imagine if your child or an elderly parent was sick and needed to get medical care, but they were hesitant to go to the doctor, would you tell them to ‘shut-up and just do as your told’? Or would you talk to them, and address their fears and concerns with facts and evidence? Would you try to connect and empathize with them, or would you completely dismiss them as idiots, make fun of them, or call them evil?
Many people have not taken Covid seriously and have stopped listening to our leaders because of the complete hypocrisy about the virus, and the protocols surrounding it by the people setting public policy. Our leaders locked down our schools, shut down our businesses and prevented average citizens from going to an outdoor socially distanced church, but they allowed BLM and Antifa to riot mask-free and non-socially distanced for 5 months last summer. 12-year-olds are being forced to take a vaccine they do not need or want, and at the same time, the people who are forcing these vaccine mandates are ushering hundreds of thousands of Covid positive illegal immigrants into this country from every corner of the world.
They watch as kindergarteners are being forced to wear masks in school, but it is okay for Barack Obama to throw a 400+ guest, 3-day birthday party for himself last month, indoors and mask-less, because the crowd was “sophisticated”. On Sunday, the biggest Covid vaccine virtue signalers, and social media shamers, the A-List celebrities, attended the Emmy’s mask-less, and not socially distanced. These hypocrites do not understand that viruses do not act like them. Viruses do not discriminate against people based on political affiliation, celebrity status, net-worth, and not even your assumed level of virtue. Repeating “woke” talking points on social media may protect you from media criticism and salvage your career, but that means nothing to a virus. “Wokism” protects you against fake threats but does nothing against real life threats.
Proponents of the vaccines claim that 99% of the people who are dying from Covid-19 are unvaccinated. If that is true, then the vaccinated have nothing to worry about from the unvaccinated. It’s only the unvaccinated who are dying, not the vaccinated. So, the unvaccinated should only be a threat to themselves.
But if we are looking at the statistics of who is dying from Covid, we should consider that 94.5% of the people who have died from this virus were 70+ years of age or had a comorbidly, or both. So why are we forcing healthy 25-year-olds, and college age students to get these vaccines, when to them this virus is not more deadly than the seasonal flu?
Considering both stats about who is dying from this, it’s easy to look at it this way: according to the rates of death, the “young & healthy” are equivalent to the vaccinated, and the “70+ or unhealthy” are equivalent to unvaccinated. So, get the 70+ or unhealthy vaccinated and leave everyone else alone.
It is proven that this virus affects people differently based on age and health status, yet we are applying a one size fits all prone to dealing with this virus regardless of age and health status. That is completely unconscionable, and completely anti-science. Would a doctor prescribe the same treatment to a person with stage 4 lung cancer and a person with a cancerous mole on his shoulder? No. It would be malpractice. But here we are using the same medical approach for a 75-year-old man with emphysema, and a completely healthy 25-year-old who has a 50 times better chance of survival from Covid.
Many companies have been mandating these vaccines on their employees, firing those who do not want to comply. Would these companies be willing to sign a contract assuming financial responsible for any side effects these vaccines may cause in terms of pain, suffering and lost wages? If the vaccines are required by the employer, then any and all side effects from the vaccines on their employees can be seen as a workplace injury where the employer becomes financially responsible. No employer would sign that contract even though they claim the vaccines are 100% safe. Employers want to benefit from the vaccine requirements, while shielded from responsibility if a negative outcome arises. They will hide behind the fact that these vaccines still have not been fully approved by the FDA, so the patient assumes all responsibility of the negative outcomes, as if he took these vaccines voluntarily, free from coercion.
It is still very difficult to make an informed decision about these vaccines. There are three vaccines on the market. Do we know which of the three vaccines is the most effective in preventing infection? Do we know which of the vaccines is the safest from side effects? No. That information should be readily available, updated at least weekly, if not daily, but it is not. Go to the CDC website and see for yourself.
Where are the readily available numbers on who is being hospitalized and dying from this disease based on age, gender, health status, and any other relevant data point? The public should not have to dig through website after website to piece this information together for themselves. That is where people stumble across misinformation. These numbers should be presented to the public by the CDC clearly and concisely on a regular basis. Instead of yelling at the unvaccinated, threatening mandates, masking, lockdowns, and school closures, present the American people with the facts and evidence, and if the facts and evidence logically lead to your conclusions, the overwhelming majority would follow. That’s called “following the science”.
No one has showed evidence of how effective each of the vaccines are. Are they 90% effective, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 10%? What is the number? They don’t tell us. Which vaccines is the most effective? Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer? Wouldn’t that help in deciding which vaccine to take if you decided on getting vaccinated? They don’t tell you the risk of side effects data either. They stopped collecting and/or sharing the VAERS (vaccine adverse effect) data? Why would they do that?
Hundreds of millions of people have already been vaccinated so the data set is large enough, but they are not sharing the data, why? If the data showed that the vaccines were 95% effective and had 0.001% adverse effect rates, those numbers would be everywhere. Yet they are conspicuously silent. They tell everyone shut-up and comply. All this information, all these hard numbers are vital in making an informed medical decision, yet these numbers are not available to the public, and we are told to trust medical professionals who lied to us again and again.
Are we not tracking this data? If no, that is medical malpractice by the doctors in charge. If we are tracking the data, but not disclosing it to the public—the potential patients, to mislead them into believing the vaccines are safer and more effective than they really are, is also medical malpractice. I know with cancer patients, before a treatment protocol is administered, the doctors go to great lengths to inform the patient that this treatment is X% effective, and in X% of patients develop these side effects. Then the patient can make an informed decision. But that is not the approach with these vaccines. We get a blanket statement, that the vaccines are safe and effective, so take the vaccines. But people can still get the virus, spread the virus, so everyone still must wear a mask and social distance.
Following the science is not some doctor you don’t know telling you to do something without the supporting evidence behind his recommendation. When I broke my wrist as a 15-year-old, the doctor put my x-ray up on the screen and showed me where my bone was fractured. He didn’t say, I mandate you wear a cast for 6 weeks without evidence as to why. That doctor treated the 15-year-old me more like an adult than the Dr. Fauci and the Biden administration has shown millions of grown adults in this country and that is why there is so much pushback. We can handle the truth, and we know when you’re lying.
The problem with Biden and people on the left is that they attain their political power not through uniting, but by dividing, and using divisive tactics will not get 100% of the people to follow what you say. You can’t mock and ridicule 75 million people daily, calling them white supremacists, and domestic terrorist, and expect them to listen to you on any subject matter. And that is the problem with the steep divisions in our country, no leader will ever be able to lead the entire country because elections are won by division, not by unity.

Posted inUncategorized|Comments Off on REPRESENTATIVE MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE INTRODUCES A RESOLUTION IN THE House of Representatives CALLING FOR THE IMPEACHMENT OF JOSEPH BIDEN
Infra dig (from the Latin infra dignitatem, meaning beneath one’s dignity) is an apt description of the anemic suggestion by the respondent abortionists in their merits brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that the Court dismiss as improvidently granted—or DIG, in the Court’s jargon—the state of Mississippi’s certiorari petition.
Let’s put things in context:
1. When the Court granted certiorari in May, it specifically did so “limited to Question 1 presented by the [state’s] petition.” That Question 1 reads: “Whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional.” (Emphasis added.)
Supreme Court Rule 14.1(a) expressly provides that “The statement of any question presented is deemed to comprise every subsidiary question fairly included therein.” The question whether “all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional” necessarily implicates the question of what the proper constitutional standard is, which in turn “fairly include[s]” the questions whether Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey are faithful to that standard, and, if they are not, whether they should be overturned.
Indeed, given Casey’s embrace of “the central holding of Roe” that “a State may not prohibit any woman from making the ultimate decision to terminate her pregnancy before viability”—“[r]egardless of whether exceptions are made for particular circumstances”—it is difficult to understand how anyone would fail to recognize that the question “Whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional” presents at bottom the question whether Roe and Casey should be overturned. (The issue would be very different if Question 1 were limited to “Whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are impermissible under Roe and Casey.”)
Respondents’ own argument—the one argument that I think they have right—that there are “no half-measures” available in Dobbs between overturning Roe and Casey, on the one hand, and applying and affirming them to invalidate Mississippi’s law, on the other, proves the point. The idea that the justices who voted to grant certiorari on Question 1 after many months of deliberation somehow did not understand what Question 1 entailed (even as they denied certiorari on the narrower questions that Mississippi’s petition presented) is ludicrous.
That is why the Court’s grant of certiorari on this question was widely and immediately understood to tee up Roe and Casey for overruling.
That is why the same-day New York Times article on the grant of certiorari was titled “Supreme Court to Hear Abortion Case Challenging Roe v. Wade” and prominently highlighted supporters of abortion rights who denounced the grant as “signaling a willingness to revisit Roe” (NYT’s summary) and as setting up “a test case to overturn Roe.”
That is why SCOTUSblog reported the same day that the case “could upend the Supreme Court’s landmark decisions in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.”
That is why the Los Angeles Times editorial board stated the same day that the “enormously important” question in Dobbs meant that “There are basically two ways for the court to go: gut Roe vs. Wade or reaffirm it.”
That is why NARAL issued a same-day press release that declared that “There is no path for the Supreme Court to uphold Mississippi’s abortion ban without overturning Roe’s core holding.”
That is why an NBC News analysis the very next day stated that the certiorari “is a signal that the court is ready to overturn Roe v. Wade” and that Dobbs “lunges straight at [Roe’s] heart.”
Et cetera, et cetera.
2. To be sure, Mississippi argued in its petition that “the questions presented in this petition do not require the Court to overturn Roe and Casey” (emphasis added) but “merely … to reconcile a conflict in its own precedents.” But Mississippi went on to argue that if it would lose under Roe and Casey—if, that is, “the Court determines that it cannot reconcile Roe and Casey with other precedents or scientific advancements showing a compelling state interest in fetal life far earlier in pregnancy than those cases contemplate”—then the Court “should not retain erroneous precedent” (i.e., should overturn Roe and Casey).
The respondents complain that Mississippi “mentioned the notion [of overturning Roe and Casey] only in a threadbare footnote.” But that complaint ducks the fundamental point that the question is “fairly included” in the question on which the Court granted certiorari (and thus need not have been mentioned at all). And the complaint is also wrong, as the certiorari petition argued at length (see especially pp. 14-20) against the soundness of Roe and Casey. E.g.:
Roe’s viability line is arbitrary, constantly moves as medical knowledge increases, and fails to honor the reality that states have substantial interests of their own beginning “from the outset of the pregnancy.
The Court should grant the petition, hold that it is illogical to impose a “rigid line allowing state regulation after viability but prohibiting it before viability,” and uphold the Gestational Age Act.
[T]he Court should grant review and reject “viability” as the bright line for determining when a state may legislate to advance its substantial interests in health, safety, and dignity.
Roe’s viability rule is outdated.
In sum, the viability rule was created outside the ordinary crucible of litigation, failed to take account of the state’s accepted interest in maternal health and fetal pain, is increasingly out of step with other areas of the law, rejects science and common sense, and is shaky precedent at best. The Court should revisit it.
3. In City of San Francisco v. Sheehan (2015), the Court dismissed as improvidently granted a question on which the parties’ merits briefs were not in dispute. In so doing, the Court explained that the question “would benefit from briefing and an adversary presentation.”
At the risk of severe understatement, it is plain that no such concern is present here. Dozens of merits briefs, by the parties and their amici, have now been filed on both sides of the question whether Roe and Casey should be overruled.
In sum, there is no conceivable ground for DIGging Dobbs.

In 2017, scholar Angelo M. Codevilla wrote of the “Cold Civil War” in the United States:
America is in the throes of revolution. The 2016 election and its aftermath reflect the distinction, difference, even enmity that has grown exponentially over the past quarter century between America’s ruling class and the rest of the country. During the Civil War, President Lincoln observed that all sides “pray[ed] to the same God.” They revered, though in clashing ways, the same founders and principles. None doubted that those on the other side were responsible human beings. Today, none of that holds. Our ruling class and their clients broadly view Biblical religion as the foundation of all that is wrong with the world. According to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, “The phrases ‘religious liberty’ and ‘religious freedom’ will stand for nothing except hypocrisy so long as they remain code words for discrimination, intolerance, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, Christian supremacy, or any form of intolerance.”
The government apparatus identifies with the ruling class’s interests, proclivities, and tastes, and almost unanimously with the Democratic Party. As it uses government power to press those interests, proclivities, and tastes upon the ruled, it acts as a partisan state. This party state’s political objective is to delegitimize not so much the politicians who champion the ruled from time to time, but the ruled themselves…
… The non-elites blame the elites for corruptly ruling us against our will, for impoverishing us, for getting us into wars and losing them. Many demand payback—with interest. So many on all sides have withdrawn consent from one another, as well as from republicanism as defined by the Constitution and as it was practiced until the mid-20th century, that it is difficult to imagine how the trust and sympathy necessary for good government might ever return. Instead, we have a cold civil war…
… The limits to such forbearance are set by the Declaration of Independence’s requirement that no one may rule another without his consent; such unity as may be possible, therefore, has to result from the politics of persuasion. Now, I feel betrayed, as if out of the blue you’ve gone to hang out with a gang of thugs I never liked: Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Government, Big Money. In terms of this so-called pandemic, they’re no good for you. They mostly do not—in spite of what they tell you—have your best interests in mind, will be there for you when you are in dire straits. And to think you believe you have just been granted freedom. Oh, the irony! This is the most sinister and far-reaching scheme of bait and switch ever played upon the human race. Now you will be offered a “passport” proving you’ve been “fully vaccinated” that will allow you to go places where the unwashed and unvaccinated heathens, like me, cannot go. Travel overseas. Restaurants. Concerts. Sporting events. This is likely only the beginning of a vast network of social controls we will all be subjected to in the days to come.
Have at it while the going’s good. Knock yourself out. Don’t worry, be happy! But the days when you and I were once able to share a lovely meal at that favorite restaurant of ours have for now come to an end. I hope you enjoy yourself watching me, from the safety of your sanitized perch at the bar, getting turned away at the door. And I won’t wave good-bye to the shadowy glimmer of you through the glass. But it is good-bye. For a time, at least.
I am writing to you now only because I feel I owe you an explanation for my silence—the lack of emails, phone calls, texts, postings and comments on Facebook. Somehow, I cannot “like” a Facebook photo of your beautiful sunset or your cute dog or your latest culinary masterpiece when what I see is nothing short of the equivalent of planets colliding, hurling out of orbit. The end of life as we know it. Or of life, period. Of yours. Of the millions of others who got the jab. Of mine, even though I’m doing everything I can to keep out of harm’s way from this noxious injection.
Despite the shots being touted as safe, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which is co-managed by the CDC and the FDA, showed a total of 701,561 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 14,925 deaths and 91,523 serious injuries between December 14, 2020 and September 10, 2021.
VAERS is a passive reporting system in that it relies on health organizations to send in reports to the CDC and the FDA. While the reported numbers alone are staggering, a Harvard study claims that less than 10 percent of the actual deaths and injuries ever get reported to VAERS, which means the real numbers are likely to be much, much higher.
And let’s not forget to mention the psychological, emotional, economic, and sociological agony that’s wreaking havoc on millions of lives around the world. We’ve never seen anything like this anywhere nor has anything like this been so ignored (if not censored) by the mainstream media and major social media platforms.
All of this tragedy even though, on average, about 98.2 percent of known COVID-19 patients in the U.S. survive. The majority of those who succumb are usually very old who have multiple conditions, or comorbidities. One of those comorbidities is obesity. But no one dares speak its name. Even the CDC admits that nearly 80 percent of those who are hospitalized or die in the U.S. because of COVID-19 are overweight or obese.
You certainly won’t hear or read much about any of that in the mainstream media, however. When it comes to the most important and critical issues regarding COVID-19 and the so-called vaccines, it appears we no longer have a free, objective mainstream press of any sort. I find it frightening and heartbreaking that it has come to this. A democratic nation requires a free flow of any and all information in order to continue to call itself democratic. When open dialogue dies democracy dies with it. So, too, dies justice.
As you may recall, I lived and worked in China in the late 1980s and I know from firsthand experience how dictatorships silence any deviation from the government’s desired, dictatorial narrative. Simply put, first they make a mockery of it. Then they snuff it out. There is only one side to every story and that side is determined and promulgated by the heavy hand of the Chinese Communist Party, which rules the country with an iron fist. Lay that template over our social media and mainstream media—with their misinformation and conspiracy theory smears, widespread censorship, and de-platforming of alternative, honest voices—and perhaps you can get a glimpse into how this formula is playing out in what’s left of the free world now.
I stand with freedom. Freedom is more important than anything because nothing good and beautiful and true—the basic but priceless values that make human life worth living—can exist without freedom. And by defending freedom I am also defending life—mine, yours, everyone’s. Because without freedom everyone dies in countless ways—if not physically then spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually as our liberties are increasingly squashed by powers we can barely fathom, no less see. As the Republican army (which fought against Franco and the fascists in the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s) once so famously coined, “It is better to die on one’s feet than to live on one’s knees.” It is not in my blood—or the blood of other defenders of freedom—to kneel before despots.
This is war. And this war began, as all wars begin, with the only one real goal in mind: control. Land, mineral resources, money—these are mere baubles on the chains with which the few of the rich and powerful running—or should I say ruining—this world have always sought to enslave the rest of us.
A planet of nearly 8 billion souls—most of whom just want a living wage, respect, and love—are caught up in a vast, elaborate, perhaps irreversible totalitarian campaign of mind control. A campaign that started out as a shock-and-awe maneuver—scare headlines and staged video footage and photos of packed emergency rooms, people dead on the street, refrigeration trucks overflowing with body bags—and that has now settled into a daily fusillade of coronavirus cases and deaths and threats of new variants, all of it exaggerated or entirely fabricated to keep those fires of fear well-stoked.
A campaign whose tactics are not only irrational terror, but also systematic degradation, disorder, and disintegration, thereby creating a world in which the great coronavirus scare and its casualties are but a mere scratch compared to the upheavals that are on the way, unless we stop them. And we can begin by simply becoming courageous enough to refuse to comply with the needless and so far endless controls imposed upon us for our supposed safety and well-being, because what’s on the actual agenda is our annihilation.
My friend, I pray that we all live long enough to see a new day when the waking nightmare we’re all ensnared in now will be behind us. A day when the sun, revealer of truth and keeper of wisdom, will break through and shine down from a cloudless, splendid sky.
