Margaret Sanger Wanted to “Exterminate” Black People. Planned Parenthood Calls Her a “True Visionary”

OPINION   BRAD MATTES   JUL 10, 2020   |   11:43AM    WASHINGTON,

Margaret Sanger, opened the first birth control clinic in America, and then founded the American Birth Control League, which is now called Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood’s beginnings were steeped in eugenics and racism, and it continues today.

Even among superficial signs of damage control.

However, there was no evidence of that during Planned Parenthood’s 100th birthday celebration when they posted a fawning 18-page document praising Sanger’s life and accomplishments.

In part it read, “Sanger was a true visionary. In her lifetime, she convinced Americans and people around the world that they have basic human rights.” One of those Sanger-driven rights they say is “Everyone should be able to decide when or whether to have a child.”

But clearly, history shows that Sanger believed nothing of the sort. In an article titled America Needs a Code for Babies she wrote. “No woman shall have the legal right to bear a child, and no man shall have the right to become a father, without a permit for parenthood.”

And if she had anything to say about it there would be no permits given to those she called “weeds … overrunning the human garden.” She labeled them as “morons, misfits, and the maladjusted.”

Sanger’s primary mission in life was to cull out the misfits of humanity that were dragging society down. In an article titled Birth Control and Racial Betterment, she wrote, “Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit.”

Sanger was asked to speak at a Ku Klux Klan rally and wrote about it in her book, Margaret Sanger, An Autobiography: “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan in Silver Lake, New Jersey … I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses … I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak … In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.”

Planned Parenthood has fiercely defended their founder because her racist agenda and attitude mirrors their own. Life Issues Institute analyzed census tracts surrounding every Planned Parenthood abortion facility. A stunning 79% of are within walking distance of Black and/or Hispanic neighborhoods. Racism is built into their current business model.

During this time of hypersensitivity to racial cohesiveness, statues have been vandalized or destroyed. Even a statue of Frederick Douglass, arguably one of America’s greatest heroes—an escaped slave, abolitionist, and brilliant self-made man—was pulled down, along with a failed attempt to throw it into the Genesee River. Ironically, in the face of such moronic destruction, a bust of Margaret Sanger remains in the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, and she continues to be honored elsewhere.

But Sanger’s popularity could be living on borrowed time. Planned Parenthood’s highest annual honor, the Margaret Sanger Award, was quietly discontinued in 2016. Does this mean recipients Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi will toss theirs into the Potomac?

More recently, Planned Parenthood’s flagship affiliate, the Margaret Sanger Health Center in Manhattan now sports a new name according to its website: the Manhattan Health Center of New York, complete with an added #BlackLivesMatter page.

Don’t be fooled by superficial window dressing. Planned Parenthood continues to harbor (as their own staff charge) “systemic racism.”

Archbishop Viganò Responds to an Open Letter of Criticism

Written by  + Carlo Maria Viganò

vigano and sister potente+ Carlo Maria Viganò and Sister Antonietta Potente

An Open letter to Archbishop Viganò from Sister Antonietta Potente:

We are deeply indignant at the words that you, a christian and a bishop, have written in support of president Trump, the proponent of a policy that, in recent months, has shown itself to be increasingly discriminatory and violent, both with regard to the health emergency and these latest events of racism. It seems to us that using Scripture to justify the political violence of president Trump is like giving “pearls to swine” according to the evangelical words: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot (cf. Mt 7:6). The language that you use in your message to the president of the United States (Letter of June 7, 2020) stuns us as women, christians, and dominican religious, but at the same time it provokes us to distance ourselves from and denounce the ambiguity of your thought and your position, which moreover employs a dualistic and discriminatory language.

We cannot accept that a member of the Magisterium of the catholic church could use the Scriptures to support a policy that goes against every evangelical principle. We had already deplored your call for the resignation of pope Francis, but now it seems like a true and proper blasphemy to use the biblical term “children of light” to declare that Trump and also you and your entire entourage are victims of particular ecclesial and socio-political conspiracies. To deny the evidence of these recent racist actions taken by members of the police, which have been supported and defended by president Trump himself, is something that we consider to be contrary to the gospel. The children of light, whom you speak about so much, are those who walk in the light, see clearly, and denounce what they see with boldness [parrhesia].vigano nun 5 5

Neither Jesus of Nazareth nor his first male and female disciples [discepoli e discepole] ever said, “Blessed are the strong, the arrogant, the oppressors,” but rather “Blessed are the humble, the meek, the lovers of justice and peace,” even in the precariousness of our human and historical condition. We cannot understand how you could forget this message and extrapolate the Johannine message of light and darkness in order to support a government as violent as the present government of the United States. Violent in words (it is enough to see the messages of President Trump in recent days) and also in actions, not only within the United States but also in its foreign policy, its international relations, even to the point of wanting to appropriate a vaccine that, like every method of treatment, ought to be the patrimony of all humanity. We are truly appalled, but at the same time we are confident that these regurgitations of racism, which you attribute – making a huge and confusing error – to the children of darkness, find no place in the human soul and above all in the soul of those women and men who are suffering. We, women religious [donne religiose], feel that we are truly “daughters of Eve,” but not according to the metaphor you have used. Rather, we think that certain attitudes, such as the language that you use, are not nourished by the children of Eve as you say, but rather by a homophobic and thus discriminatory mentality, such as president Trump, whom you support, displays. Know that we too pray for Trump and his country, but not with the same intention that you hope for. We pray as women of faith, with the same words that the true biblical tradition has taught us: we ask to work together so that the humble, not the rich, may be exalted; we ask that the powerful and bullies who humiliate and destroy the hope of peoples may exist no longer. Thus we also pray for Trump and also for you who say that you support him. It should be clear, however, that we are on the side of the weakest and oppressed, certain that it is only to them that the wisdom that the rulers of this world did not know has been revealed (cf. 1 Cor 2:8).

Vigano’s Response: The Truth is always discriminatory when error places it into question

Noli aemulari in malignantibus, neque zelaveris facientes iniquitatem.
[Do not be provoked by evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong. Ps 36:1]

Reverend Mother,

I have read the open letter that you sent to me last June 17, also on behalf of your community, a letter that you wrote following the letter that I sent to the President of the United States. Since you address yourself personally to me, I ask you to give me space on your site to respond to you.

I remain bewildered by several expressions in your letter: not only those regarding me personally, but also the showy misrepresentation of reality in accusing President Trump of being “the proponent of a policy that, in recent months, has shown itself to be increasingly discriminatory and violent, both with regard to the health emergency and these latest events of racism.” In truth I do not see how one can make him responsible for the events of racism, which have arisen in a context in which the police and the local governments are in the hands of the Democratic Party, and which have been proven by evidence that little by little is emerging to have been orchestrated by the false flag financed by the globalist elites precisely in order to oppose the Republican party and the President currently in office. At the international level, Trump’s term of office is the only one for a long time in which the United States has not started any military conflicts, and in many cases peace treaties have been established and foreign military deployments have been withdrawn. The economy was in strong growth (until the Covid emergency), and thus also the protection of the rights of workers.vigano nun 2 2

If then you maintain that establishing public order and demanding respect for the law is a discriminatory action, I fear that I have to remind you that civil authority has a moral duty to impose respect for the laws, and in order to do this it is permitted to use proportionate force: this doctrine is taught and wonderfully explained by Saint Thomas Aquinas, the patron of the Institute to which you belong. I do not believe that the President is “violent in words and also in actions,” certainly no more that those who in their own political program favor and support the killing of millions of children right up until the moment before birth and even after birth: this violence, much more hateful since it rages the most against those who are the most defenseless, does not appear to me to quite be in accord with your commitment as a religious sister.

You reprove me for using a “dualistic and discriminating language” – in fact, it is precisely that, and I think that it cannot be otherwise, when what it is in question is the eternal battle between good and evil. The Truth is always discriminatory when error places it into question. Light is also discriminatory, for it does not tolerate darkness or those who hide in it. Just as Our Lord, the stumbling stone, is discriminatory and divisive, who will gather the just to His right hand and drive out the wicked to His left. You are my friends, if you do what I command you, says the Lord (Jn 15:4). The condition for friendship with God is obedience to His Commandments and His Law, in the bond of Charity. This too is discriminatory, because those who abuse their own freedom and do not conform themselves to the will of God will not be able to rejoice in the beatific vision, nor participate in His eternal glory. In the same way, the Sixth Commandment, which condemns sodomy as a sin that cries out for vengeance before the face of God, was given in a “homophobic and thus discriminatory mentality.”Saint Paul discriminated, just as Christ discriminated, and so too in Eden the Eternal Father discriminated, driving out our first parents who had disobeyed Him. vigano nun 3 3

But if this discrimination made us through our own fault deserving of divine punishment, it also merited for us ever since the fall of our first parents the promise of a Redeemer born of the Virgin, of a new Adam and a new Eve. It was this “dualist” vision that led our fathers toward the Promised Land, in the abandonment of idolatry and the adoration of the One True God. The Martyrs too discriminated when they preferred to face torment and torture rather than burn incense to idols. The Doctors of the Church, including the Angelic Doctor discriminated when they fought against heresies and preached true doctrine. Saint Dominic discriminated when he preached the Cross. You too, Reverend Mother, discriminate when you take positions against my words, against Trump, and against discrimination. You discriminate when you speak of “we women religious [donne religiose]” placing an accent on “women” that seems to want to claim a role that is not based on adhesion to the order willed by God nor to the admonition of the Apostle of the Gentiles.

You state: “We ask to work together so that the humble and not the rich may be exalted; we ask that the powerful and bullies who humiliate and destroy the hope of peoples may exist no longer.” You recall, Reverend Mother, that the humble of whom the Gospel speaks are not necessarily those whom today’s world exploits for cynical projects of social engineering, nor the many who are torn from their Homeland in order to pander to the plans for destabilization that always enrich the usual people. And the rich are not always and necessarily evil: if Providence has granted them material goods, He asks them to become His cooperators in remembering the poor and needy. Nor are the powerful to be blamed, if their power is placed in service of the Good: it is those who abuse their power and the authority given to them who merit blame from the citizens and divine punishment.vigano nun 4 4

I fear that your words find too much space for the thinking of the world, rather than a supernatural vision supported by sound doctrine and fed by solid piety. In substance, the absence of an exterior and visible sign of your religious Vows appears to me to reveal implicitly your desire to hide your religious identity (perhaps in order not to offend others’ sensibilities?), with the risk however of leaving yourself in an interior void that no ideology of this world will be able to fill. And yet it is precisely this that we ought to expect from a daughter of Saint Dominic and Saint Thomas: to ensure that the legitimate aspirations of the least ones find their own most authentic roots in Revelation, in the Christian social order, in the faithful application of the social doctrine of the Church. Because there is no Charity where there is no Truth: You teach me that they are both essential attributes of God, and it is not possible to love God if one does not also unconditionally welcome the integral Truth that He has transmitted to us in the Holy Church, the one Ark of Salvation.

You write: “It should be clear, however, that we are on the side of the weakest and oppressed, certain that it is only to them that the wisdom that the rulers of this world did not know has been revealed (cf. 1 Cor 2:8).” I imagine that in that group of the weakest and oppressed you include the fathers and mothers of families who want to give a Christian education to their children; the many who are daily persecuted simply because they profess the Catholic faith; the millions of innocents that the modern Moloch sacrifices each day on the impure altar of abortion; the elderly whom economic interests and speculations condemn to abandonment or death because they are considered useless; the children ensnared in their most tender years by the infernal ideology of gender; the young people corrupted in their morality by LGBT thought; the elderly faithful of St. Louis who were assaulted a few days ago by a group of people who praise Black Lives Matter.

In conclusion, your open letter confirms what I have written many times: the alignments are being more clearly defined day by day, and this is certainly a tribute to the truth that permits many to understand what is really happening and which side each person intends to align with.

To you, Reverend Mother, and to Your Community I send my heartfelt blessing, entrusting myself to Your prayers.

THERE IS INCREASING EVIDENCE THAT THE HOLY Roman Catholic Church IS AT A CROSSROADS IN SACRED HISTORY. ONLY THE WILLFULLY BLIND, THOSE WHO BY THEIR FAILURE TO LIVE THEIR CATHOLIC FAITH WITH AN ACTIVE SACRAMENTAL AND PRAYERFUL LIFE, WILL THROW UP THEIR HANDS IN THE FACE OF THE GROWING CHAOS IN THE CHURCH AND THE WORLD AND BY THEIR PASSIVITY ALLOW THE DESTRUCTION OF A LIVING FAITH BY THE MAJORITY OF CATHOLIC AND ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS TO RESULT IN THE TRAGIC FATE THAT AWAITS US ALL HERE ON EARTH

CROSS+ROADS

Dear Excellency,

There are many things in this letter you might already know and agree with, so for some this will be like preaching to the choir. For others it could bring new explanations hoped for. And for others it will provide a confirmation for some things already suspected. For others it could challenge decades of faulty indoctrination, practice and world view. And for still for others there might be something useful not yet
considered for the salvation of souls. It’s a bit lengthy so I installed headings so that
it can be read nonlinearly and at different times if desired.

Introduction

We could do well to reflect upon the critical juncture we now face at this significant moment in history, significant for many reasons but in particular for those that began with the recent Lent of 2020 and the coronavirus pandemic that accompanied it – simultaneously – worldwide. And also because of what this seeming coincidence might mean, the ominous implications it could uncover for the Church, it’s future, and that of the world. We’ll try to address these and answer what – if any – practical and effective solutions exist for both going forward. So let’s break it down…

To begin, we should recognize that not only has Lent historically been a period of 40 days, but so also has the very meaning of the word, “quarantine” (literally “period of forty days,” origin: 1600–10; < Italian “quarantina”). And that also historically, the health of nations and that of the Church have depended upon the faithful practices of both. Namely, upon their “best practices”:

Best Practice

“A method or technique that has been generally accepted as superior to any alternatives because it produces results that are superior to those achieved by other means.”page1image1351168

CROSS+ROADS

Quarantine Errors

With the last global pandemic taking place over a century ago (1918 Spanish flu – 500m infected), it could be said that many quarantine best practices have fallen by the wayside to the point of being discounted, forgotten or in some cases even held in contempt. A review of recent history might be useful.

• By January 2020 China reported an “out of control” “outbreak” in Wuhan – a potential epidemic – notifying major global and national health organizations. Person to person transmission was confirmed and major health organizations recommended little else but hand washing, let alone precautions to protect the society to which a traveler would return.

• China locked down 36 million people in Hubei province which included Wuhan, while building a Mega-sized hospital. This went mostly unnoticed by the political, medical and mainstream media communities who preferred to critisize and speculate upon China’s political policies and words, all the while failing to look at their desperate actions in the face of a crises. From these they might’ve deduced the potential severity of the epidemic at hand, and it’s implications for the rest of the world.

• Positive test results were reported from 19 countries
(symptomatic and asymptomatic) and it became clear the genie was out of the bottle. Despite this and all of the above, a major global health organization, “The World Health Organization” (WHO) of “The United Nations” (UN), still advocated continued trade, travel and advised against travel bans though the qualifications for identifying the Covid19 Coronavirus as an “official pandemic” – even by their own standards – was already met.

• By February some countries implemented travel restrictions to specific cities or regions. But this neither took into account adjacent cities or regions, nor all pandemic ridden countries.

• After the first week of March an official “pandemic” was finally proclaimed by the UN’s WHO on March 11, 2020. This was over a month after the criteria for declaring a pandemic was already met by their own criteria. Accordingly, there were just over 115,000 coronavirus cases in 110 countries and 4000 casualties.

Quarantine Error Consequences

As a result of neglecting quarantine best practices the current coronavirus pandemic has multiplied at an exponential rate worldwide. Within the course of several months there are now over 12 million cases of the coronavirus in 188 countries and regions, claiming over half a million lives. Billions have lost their savings, jobs and businesses, and global economies have nose-dived. And by the time you read this those numbers will be much higher.

Quarantine Best Practices

In summary, despite what was at first a highly probable epidemic and then an unequivocal worldwide pandemic, major global and national health organizations failed to immediately recommend the timely implementation of quarantine best
practices. Therefore it might be productive to remind ourselves of which quarantine best practices had proven universally effective in the past so we can apply them to our current times to better prevent and treat pandemic illness from here on in.

Quarantine best practices have included the use of physical distancing, disinfectants, masks, gloves, screening, quarantine facilities at travel hubs, self isolation and the strategic use of lockdowns. At the outbreak stage the use of non-privacy invading point of origin testing and associated contact tracing is most practical to prevent it from spreading to the community. After the contagion is community-wide however, the use of testing and contact tracing the general public is primarily ineffective.

Most importantly, quarantine best practices include much needed “travel bans” which are orders of magnitude more effective than just “travel restrictions.” This is especially the case at the crucial outbreak stage of a pandemic where the goal should be to prevent inbound infections.

A Word About One World Government

The coronavirus failures in implementation are also structural in nature and to overlook them would be irresponsible.

Not only did the UN and it’s “WHO” – at the very least – negligently handle the global pandemic that’s infected over 12 million, taken the lives of over half a million and permanently injured countless more; but also destroyed the economies, businesses,

-3-

CROSS+ROADS

livelihoods, savings and the sustenance of billions of people worldwide, all in one fell swoop. And their negligence could’ve been far worse, it could’ve wiped out humanity. Fortunately it did not, this time. So for those of us fortunate to still be around, we should be grateful for the luxury to evaluate them now – and any proposed “one world government” scheme.

In one sentence: By their utter failure to recommend proper quarantine best practices regarding the Covid19 coronavirus from the outset, the UN and it’s WHO have thoroughly demonstrated they’re completely unqualified to handle any significant responsibility or have any authority over the national security, common good or lives of the citizens of any city, state, country or continent.

And while the UN/WHO insists that “no one” (especially themselves) could have seen the Covid19 coronavirus coming, speculation abounds as to why they didn’t proclaim it as an “official pandemic” well after it qualified as one – even by their own standards – a month earlier. One popular explanation called the “conflict of interest theory,” proposes that if the UN/WHO proclaimed – what was then obvious, that the coronavirus was a pandemic at the crucial outbreak stage – then they’d have immediately contradicted the justification for their own existence by reaffirming that nations are best served by exercising their own autonomous, sovereign powers to protect and regulate themselves.

If countries utilize their own sovereignty to regulate their own medical science, border controls, screening, contact tracing, protective gear and other preventative and proactive quarantine best practices according to their independent needs effectively, then it’s another nail in the coffin of the UN/WHO and any “one world government’s” justification to rule and control nations.

What’s more, any future governing role for the UN/WHO becomes superseded by each country’s own experts and experience, further developed, better positioned and suited to advise themselves on their unique requirements more than any outsider, and can make the timely adjustments required according to their distinct and shifting degrees of necessity.

This runs counter to the UN/WHO’s slogans of “solidarity,” “unity” and “feelings of identity” used to justify their power and control over nations, which becomes exposed as the impractical “one size fits all” model it is. All this is at the expense of the common good and conveniently empowers a select few and their invisible donors to in effect, run the world.

-4-

CROSS+ROADS

If the “conflict of interest theory” is accurate, then the UN/WHO have immediately disqualified themselves by putting their own survival above the very nations they claim to protect and want to dominate, and thereupon exposed themselves as ruthless, tyrannical frauds in the name of peace, health and prosperity. And if the “conflict of interest theory” is inaccurate, then at the very least the UN/WHO and “one world government” model have proven themselves persistentlly as the one size fits all, non- self correcting, impractical, ineffective, lethal danger to life on earth that it is.

Catholic Errors

With the last full operation of the Traditional Catholic Church taking place over half a century ago (since the 1962 Second Vatican Council, also known as Vatican II), it could also be said that many Catholic best practices have fallen by the wayside to the point of being discounted, forgotten, or in some cases even held in contempt. A review of history might be useful:

• In 1962 the authors of Vatican II proclaimed that in the name of ecumenism, Catholicism had to be modernized. They insisted upon the removal of over a millennium of Catholic practices deemed as out-dated theological obsticals, in order to convert primarily heretical Protestants to the true Christian Church, The Catholic Church. This in turn, hid and distorted underlying fundamental Catholic theology that distinguished it from it’s heretical offshoots. Moreover, it hid and distorted key Catholic theology and practices that provided it’s own Catholic members with Graces for Salvation. Consequently in the name of building a bridge to bring heretical Protestants over to Catholicism, Vatican II built a bridge that brought Catholics over to heretical Protestantism.

• The marginalization of Catholic Authenticity: The Catholic Church teaches infallibly, “extra ecclesiam nulla salus,” or, “outside the Church there is no salvation.” This dogma is backed by 2 doctrinal councils, 14 popes and 11 saints which include the most prominent Doctors of the Church. This didn’t go over well amongst the Protestant advisors to Vatican II, and as a result is not well known amongst today’s Catholics. Consequently, religious equivalency is now a common belief among Catholics today, and unfortunately more so amongst former Catholics.

• The marginalization of The Church’s Commandments: Among the manifold casualties of Vatican II was the familiarity of the faithful with the Commandments of the Catholic

-5-

CROSS+ROADS

Church, which include the 10 Commandments. But because of Vatican II, many Catholics don’t know the difference between the Catholic, Protestant or even secular interpretations of the Commandments. Unlike Catholicism for example, many Protestant sects interpret them to allow for abortion, premarital sex, homosexuality and contraception. Unfortunately this has now carried over into mainstream Catholic practice and led many to sin and to adopt a philosophy of moral relativism.

Another casualty of Vatican II was a category of sin upon which both our immediate and long term futures depend: “Sins that cry to Heaven for vengeance.” They are:

A. Murder (includes abortion, euthanasia, unjust wars)
B. Homosexuality (includes LBGTQ lifestyles)
C. Oppression of widows and orphans (includes larger civil liberty violations and unjust sanctions upon the innocent citizens of other nations)
D. Defrauding wage earners of their rightful due

We need to ask ourselves if the Church since Vatican II – and therefore the world since Vatican II – has either become more opposing or more enabling of these. Unfortunately the evidence is overwhelmingly condemning, and accounts for the manifold predicaments we’re all now in spiritually and materially; and so on an individual, familial, societal, national and global basis – and it’s only set to get worse unless corrective measures are taken.

What’s more, some prelates in the Church are willing participants in these sins as with surge of Church abuse scandals since Vatican II. Compounded with sins of homosexuality were sins of oppression upon the victims who were essentially orphans – at least situationally – and victims to Catholic prelates no less. And what of the Vatican’s abuses of “Peter’s Pence,” the money intended for orphans, widows and those in need only to be misused by self-aggrandizing, corrupt prelates? And worse – yes there’s worse – what of the current unofficial Church-wide policy of non-condemnation against the heinous sin of abortion – the murder of the unborn? And worst of all, what of all those now in hell as a result?

These sins are now enabled and committed by the very same people – Church prelates – who were entrusted to disable and terminate them. Consequently, the sins crying for vengeance are now not only upon the world but also directly upon the post Vatican II Catholic Church. And they are piling up fast.

-6-

CROSS+ROADS

• The marginalization of the Christ in the Sacraments: Under the direction of 6 Protestant ministers, the Catholic Mass itself was “modernized” by effectively dismantling the sacrifice of Christ that focused upon God, to become a celebratory meal focused upon the laity. Many tabernacles containing the Sacramental presence of Christ were physically removed from the center of churches to side chapels, and replaced with a chair for the priest – a man – to sit in God’s place. A Protestant table replaced the alter, from which the priest now faced the people to principally serve a meal. The laity – like Protestants who don’t believe in the real presence – are discouraged from kneeling before Christ’s Sacramental presence during Holy Communion and – also like Protestants – are encouraged to receive Holy Communion in the hand. This was once a privilege that only priests had – and with using only 2 fingers of each hand.

• The marginalization of the Blessed Virgin Mary: God had already made it clear by example, dogma, doctrine, theology and the writings of the Saints; that He not only comes to us through Mary, but wants us to come to Him by her. The Blessed Virgin Mary is not just the Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, Queen of the Angels, Mediatrix of All Graces and more, but she is also the one who will crush the head of the devil. It is for these reasons and more that we should honor her accordingly, and give her our filial devotion. God wants it so, irregardless of what Protestants want. In many Churches for example, her statues have been removed, her rosary neither propagated nor prayed, nor her first Saturday devotions carried out.

• The marginalization of authentic scripture: Not well known amongst Christians, Protestants had already removed many books from the Bible in order to not contradict themselves and expose their heresies. But in order to not expose the errors of Vatican II, scripture in many Catholic Bibles was altered to more easily coincide with the heresies of the Protestants. For example, Protestants neither believe in Mary’s Immaculate Conception nor her power over the devil, nor hold her in any great
esteem. Therefore, “Hail, full of Grace” was changed to, “Hail, highly favored daughter” (Saint Luke 1:28) or something similar. Yet it was through Mary’s Immaculate Conception that she was born in God’s Grace, sinless – even without original sin – which combined with her sublime surrender to God’s will, had the requisite Grace to be the Mother of God. Like Eve she was born sinless, but unlike Eve she remained sinless. And that credit goes to her. Mary thus gave the human race a second chance through her subsequent ‘yes’ to God in place of Eve’s ‘no.’ And at the very least we owe her an immense debt of gratitude, honor and devotion.

Similar scriptural alterations were also made regarding Mary’s foreshadowed role as the second Eve in Genesis as the “woman”, “…she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel” was changed to “he shall strike your head, and you shall strike his heel” or to the more confusing “it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel” etc. (Genesis 3:15).

Another example is Saint Paul’s “The greatest is charity” was changed to “the greatest is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). From that point “Love” could easily be spun to mean romantic love, sexual love or fraternal love etc.. And spun it was. But the example of Christ Who gave His life for us confirms it’s that particular selfless form of love known as, “charity” (Saint John 15:13, 2 Saint John 1:6). Also “Angels” were demoted to “messengers” and the “Gospel of Saint John” became “The Gospel of John” (Protestants don’t recognize Catholic Saints).

• The marginalization of conversion (Saint Matthew 28:19): One of the many consequences of Vatican II was a new found, disproportionate fixation upon the corporal works of mercy:

– Feed the hungry
– Give drink to the thirsty – Clothe the naked
– Shelter the homeless
– Visit the sick
– Visit the imprisoned
– Give alms to the poor
– Bury the dead

However admirable, none of these directives alone give credit to their supernatural source: Christ. And none of them alone incur merit, longevity or true success without Him and a Catholic in sanctifying Grace through which to do them. That’s because God put service to Him first and foremost, not service to man (Saint Matthew 7:21-23).

As a result, corporeal works of mercy meant to provide a vehicle for the supernatural, eternal salvation for another’s spiritual needs, were eclipsed by exclusive focus upon the natural, temporary relief for another’s material needs. And this became the norm since 1962. Thus Vatican II advanced the aggrandizement of humanitarianism for the sake of a brotherhood of man, at the expense of Catholicism for the sake of God and His children. This man-centered inversion of reality and of God’s priorities was warned about by many popes (St. Pope Pius X, Pascendi Dominici Gregis, 1907; Pope Leo

XIII, Humanum Genus, 1884, etc.)

What could’ve kept the eyes of the faithful on the true Faith? The inclusion and rightful prioritization upon the spiritual works over the corporeal ones:

– Admonish sinners
– Instruct the uninformed
– Counsel the doubtful
– Comfort the sorrowful
– Be patient with those in error
– Forgive offenses
– Pray for the living and the dead

To admonish, instruct, counsel, comfort and pray in such contexts employs – in some manner – the true Faith, Catholicism, and the opportunity for repentance or conversion. Unfortunately, today some of these are not just considered politically incorrect, but almost civil rights violations. Again we need to ask ourselves, how did we get to this point? Would political correctness have become this dysfunctionally warped here in 2020, if the Church wasn’t resigned to “not offend the Protestants” for the last 58 years, and had been more outspoken and observant of the spiritual works of mercy? Today censorship of Christianity is a daily occurrence, standard amongst most of western mainstream and social media.

And yet that’s not even the real problem. The real problem is people going to hell, the demolition of the Church from within, and life on earth on the verge of destruction, courtesy of Vatican II.

• The marginalization of the family: Vatican II promulgated that the foundation of civilization was the community, and not the family. But for over a millennium the Catholic Church taught that it was the family – not “the community” that was the foundation for society, as it was considered a type of micro-society, from which civilization was built. Extended families became nuclear families, nuclear families became remarried or single parent families, those became same sex couple families, and those became transgender families, and those became single parent transgender families, etc.

• The advancement of the Modernism heresy: The poisonous fruits of Vatican II should be apparent by now (Matthew 7:15). In the name of ecumenism the smoke of satan did indeed enter the Catholic Church (Pope Paul VI, June 29 1972). Unfortunately for

-9-

many, this has only become clear with 20/20 hindsight, here in – yes – 2020. Let us take a moment to rub our eyes to see: The Catholic Church was mislead into consecutively conforming to the trends and beliefs of heretical Protestants, who themselves
were consecutively conforming to the trends and beliefs of the world. Therefore the fruits of Vatican II are the heresy of Modernism.

Modernism: “A movement toward modifying traditional beliefs in accordance with modern ideas, especially in the Roman Catholic Church”(Wikipedia).

Modernism: “It is an attempt to transform the Kingdom of God into the Kingdom of Man, to substitute for the Church consecrated to the worship of God, a Church dedicated to the cult of Humanity. This is the most dreadful, the most terrible of heresies” (Marcel de Corte, 1965). (For more on Modernism see St. Pope Pius X, Pascendi Dominici Gregis, 1907)

The problem with changing Catholicism to fit the fashion and trends of the day, is that absolute truths don’t change. That’s why they’re called “absolute” and “infallible.” The expression “written in stone” originally referred to the 10 Commandments – written by God himself – into stone tablets to denote their permanence. And like them, Church dogma and doctrine are not open to revision, being that they declare infallibly the absolute truths which God has revealed.

Yet amongst the plethora of Vatican II’s misguiding deceptions
and calculated ambiguity, the most important truth to recognize is this: VATICAN II WAS NOT A DOCTRINAL COUNCIL. IT WAS A NON-BINDING, PASTORAL COUNCIL AND THEREFORE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE OBSERVED. Just because it “mentions” previous doctrinal councils or saints here or there, changes nothing. They were cleverly intermingled within it’s text and provide the illusion of validated legitimacy, when in fact Vatican II was never authoritative, and to say otherwise is a lie.

Catholic Error Consequences

As a result of neglecting Catholic best practices, a pandemic of sin has infected the Mystical Body of Christ, the Catholic Church since Vatican II. And this spiritual illness has multiplied at an exponential rate worldwide. Relatively recent statistics (Official Catholic Directory) reveal that within the course of several decades (since 1962) there has been a global:

13% decrease in infant baptisms
28% decrease in religious sisters
31% decrease in Sunday Mass attendance 33% decrease in priests
48% decrease in ordinations
55% decrease in graduate level seminarians 60% decrease in marrying in the Church

And if we take relatively recent US statistics (Pew Research), we find even more alarming numbers that could indicate a much larger global average:

9% of U.S. Catholics are remarried (without annulment)
25% of U.S. Catholics are divorced
28% of raised Catholics have left the Church
36% of U.S. Catholics are uncertain of God’s existence
38% of U.S. Catholics support raising children by a single parent 39% of of U.S. Catholics support homosexual behavior

43% of U.S. Catholics support raising children by a homosexual couple 43% of U.S. Catholics don’t consider abortion a sin
46% U.S. of Catholics support gay marriage
48% of Catholics support raising children by unmarried parents

61% of U.S. Catholics support unmarried cohabitation
62% of U.S. Catholics support remarriages (without annulment)
69% of U.S. Catholics do not believe in transubstantiation
76% of U.S. Catholics support birth control
79% of U.S. Catholics don’t rely on the Catholic Church’s teaching for moral guidance

Many of those numbers were from 5-6 years ago, and by the time you read this those numbers will be much higher. More significant but not listed here, are the untold numbers of people who are now in hell as a direct or indirect result of Vatican II.

Catholic Best Practices

Therefore it might be productive to briefly remind ourselves of what Catholic best practices had proven universally effective in the past, so we can apply them to our current times, in order to better prevent and treat the pandemic spiritual illness of sin that’s infected the Mystical Body of Christ, the Catholic Church…

CROSS+ROADS

• To recognize fundamental priorities by application of the Catholic Faith: To recognize that God is all that matters and anything else that matters should be according to His prioritization, not ours. Correspondingly, we need to consult the dogmas, doctrine, theology and tradition of the Catholic Church before 1962 – most of which are infallibly declared – to clarify what God’s priorities are and what their correct application is. For the faithful this could begin with studying the pre-1962 Baltimore Catechism and The Catechism of The Council of Trent.

Prelates and priests should be proficient in the Catholic Faith according to the traditions of the apostles, the holy fathers and doctors of the Church. Of these doctors particular study should be given to Saint Thomas Aquinas, and of the holy fathers Pope Saint Pius the X and Pope Leo the XIII. They should also be well versed in the eight holy universal councils and in the 255 dogmas of the Catholic Church. Prelates and priests should also expose to those under their care, the shortcomings of the Christian heretical sects so that the faithful be better rooted in the true Faith.

• To identify the threat of evil and defend against it, and mitigate the process of degeneration: The faithful need to know the Catholic version of the Commandments as a first point of reference to identify sin; and that the flesh, devil and the world are the sources of the threats to keeping those Commandments, maintaining the spiritual health of the soul and the Mystical Body of Christ, The Church. The faithful need to know the Catholic teaching on the virtues and vices. Due to a fallen, disordered and weak human nature, the more we set our own priorities in conforming to the flesh, the devil and the world, the easier we fall into vice and spiritual blindness, unable to recognize and thus conform to God’s priorities. This increasingly puts ourselves at odds with God Himself as we fall into greater darkness and thus greater errors, which can then get further exasperated by the breaking of His Commandments – the mortal sins deserving of eternal damnation.

Consequently we then go from receiving God’s Mercy to receiving God’s justice, we go from everything to nothing. Likewise we go from implementing the Divine order of Christ and His Church throughout the world according to Christ’s priorities, to implementing – intentionally or not – the twisted, anti-Divine disorder of the anti-christ and his anti-church throughout the world, according to the devil’s priorities. And the more that this persists, the worse everything gets. And all of this has happened at an accelerated rate since 1962 – and it’s still happening – right now. And so here we are in 2020.

CROSS+ROADS

It’s been said that the greatest trick of the devil is to have people believe he doesn’t exist. The laws, dogma, doctrine, tradition and theology of the Catholic Church (pre 1962) referred to above, help us recognize truth from falsehood and good from evil. This makes any “invisible enemy” more visible, and can then be more easily reckoned with at the greatest distance.

A failed exemplar of this took place when the Vatican officially approved of the Harry Potter series in the 2000’s whereupon millions of children and adults then readily introduced witchcraft into their lives, their homes and neighborhoods. Likewise, evil began a new assault upon their souls, their family’s and that of their neighbor’s. Harry Potter then went on to become a global phenomenon selling upward of half a billion volumes not to mention the $7.7+ billion in movie sales. Evil was then able to launch a new assault upon families, neighborhoods, cities, states, countries and upon the Church and world. Do you seriously think the pre-Vatican II, pre-1962 Catholic Church would have given It’s approval for Harry Potter?

• To maintain a state of Grace by living a Sacramental life: Daily Mass should be a real objective, and confession immediately upon the commission of a mortal sin. Abstaining from even a deliberate venial sin is imperative, and if it happens to confess it as well. The Sacrament of Penance should be available at least once daily before a daily Mass, and if necessary available by appointment. A take home printout that details the process for a good examination of conscience should be available outside the confessional and online. Online parish websites should have Mass and confession schedules and also emergency numbers front and center on their homepage.

• Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary: Includes reciting her daily Rosary, fulfilling her Fatima requests including the Five First Saturday devotion (which I will enumerate upon further below), the personal consecration – and also that of one’s family – to her Immaculate Heart, honoring her seven dolors, the daily angelus and honoring her on her feast days. It also encompasses reading the writings of the Saints about her, including those of Saint Louis de Montfort and Saint Alphonsus de Liguori.

• Reinforcement of the Sacramental life: With daily prayer, penance, Catholic spiritual reading and Catholic meditation. Central to these are the daily Rosary, abstaining from meat on at least Fridays, spiritual reading from a Catholic Bible (Douay Rhiems) or the Saints (by the Saints themselves or biographical accounts such as Butler’s), and meditating on the 4 last things: Death, judgement, heaven, hell. Note – reading

Saint Alphonsus de Liguori will usually accomplish both spiritual reading and meditation on the 4 last things, simultaneously.

– 13 –

CROSS+ROADS

• Additional spiritual exercises beneficial to the faithful include the the First Friday devotion to Our Lord, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Stations of the
Cross, additional fasts and abstinence’s, corporal and spiritual works of mercy (which include sharing the Catholic Faith), devotion to the seven dolors (sorrows) of Mary, being a good example and offering up one’s sufferings in union with Christ’s for the salvation of souls and intentions of Our Blessed Mother, including the expiation of our sins.

• The use of sacramentals to augment Divine protection: Such as the brown scapular, Saint Benedict and Miraculous medals and Crucifix. So also is having ones dwelling blessed by a Catholic priest and consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, and to use holy water in the home and where and when needed.

The Quarantine/Lent Connection

The above best practices are just a sample, and had been accumulated and honed by the Catholic Church for 1,962 years and were easily doubled down upon during Lent. It has been said that if the member’s of the Catholic Church won’t voluntarily do proper penance, God will impose it upon it them, involuntarily. And so again I say, here we are in 2020 and those chickens have come home to roost.

Because of the massive neglect of Catholic best practices since 1962, the Mystical Body of Christ has suffered from a pandemic of sin and consequently the world has suffered as a result. Providentially the reality of this has circled back upon the Church in the midst of this pandemic during the 40 days of Lent and viral quarantine of 2020, to not only remind the Church of it’s culpability for it, but also the need for It to practice real penance according to what penance use to be – and what it’s still supposed to be; and all according to what the Church used to be – and what it’s still supposed to be.

We are thus reminded that the Mystical Body of Christ – the Church – is sick with sin, and that our Lenten practices require us to go far beyond just giving up just chocolate – for example – and that the Church needs to return to the foundational best practices it formed for over a millennia to return to health and consequently, the world with it. IT WILL REQUIRE AMONG OTHER THINGS, AN ONGOING VOLUNTARY PENANCE, AN ONGOING PERSONAL LENT.

– 14 –

CROSS+ROADS

If nothing changes for the better and soon, then both the Church and the world will suffer in direct proportion to their culpability. The current global pandemic has put us all on notice. What will you do? What will you change, what will you improve? What contribution can you make toward dialing back the inevitable chastisements that could otherwise follow? We all need to begin reflection and rectification, immediately.

Otherwise God’s justice could continue to accelerate in severity until His message is received loud and clear, and far worse penances could be imposed upon an already uncooperative and impenitent Church and world. We must recognize this pandemic as a shot off the bow – a warning – and repent, do penance and make amends accordingly.

Challenges and Powerful Remedies

1.Q. What if our past sins make our current offerings less effective for the Church and the world, because we still need to do so much undone penance for ourselves?

1.A. A comprehensive examination of conscience (even going back to the beginning of one’s life) followed by a thorough general confession and the completion of the prescribed penance is a good start. It sometimes happens we dismiss our sins and attachments as not sins or dangerous attachments because of extenuating circumstances, or because they caused another to sin or suffer remotely, or because it was not what we did but that which we didn’t do – that offended God. All must be examined and confessed as well. Every parish should have handouts outside the confessional listing the Commandments of the Church with detailed explanations including the criteria for different sins, and with it a guide for a thorough examination of conscience and how to make a good confession.

We can further expedite the removal of temporal punishment still due us by prayer, penance and almsgiving. The greatest of these three being the sacrifice of the Mass then followed by the rosary. Moreover, the completion of indulgences reduces the temporal punishment still due us, and the primacy of these belongs to obtaining a “plenary” indulgence, and we should strive to do so frequently (once daily is maximum), because we never really know if we are fully predisposed to receive it. The greater we minimize the temporal punishment due us because of our sins, the greater the quality and quantity of our spiritual output for the Church and the world, all by the Grace of God, through Our Blessed Mother.

2.Q. Doesn’t Russia need to be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the pope and bishops for there to be true peace for the Church and the world? Is this not what Our Lady of Fatima said? And if so, how can this happen with so many prelates predisposed against it, and so few for it?

2.A. Yes, and the pope should consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary ASAP, with or without the cooperation of the bishops. He can do so by stipulating that those bishops that refuse to do so are “ipso facto” no longer bishops, then he is guaranteed a united cadre of bishops to fulfill the requirement.

At this point it’s of paramount importance for us to dispel a false argument that’s “plagued” the Church and world for a century. I believe it was concocted by the enemies of God, His Church and mankind, to dismiss God’s command to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The false argument was this: That all things Fatima are categorically a “private revelation,” therefore all of it should be considered neither obligatory to believe in, nor to adhere to. This tragically was and still is, a lie.

Why? Because the particular request for the pope – in union with the bishops of the world – to consecrate Russia was uniquely backed by an act of Divine testimony, by the miracle of the sun on October 13, 1917. This takes the request out of the exclusive category of private revelation and elevates it to the realm of proven Divine and supernatural origin, making it absolutely certain that God has revealed and imposed that obligation upon the pope and the bishops, which then must be obeyed.

Was it not our Lord Who said, “Though you will not believe Me, believe the works” (Saint John 10:38)? The miracle of the sun on October 13, 1917 was an act of Divine testimony and a fulfillment of biblical prophecy (Revelation 12:1), authenticating the message of Fatima to consecrate Russia to The Immaculate Heart of Mary as of Divine and supernatural origin, which obedience thereupon is commanded. That’s why a previous pope – John Paul II – taught that the message of Fatima “imposes a commitment on the Church.” That commitment is to consecrate specifically Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Not to consecrate Eurasia, not the world, not the solar system, not the Milky Way, not the universe, but to solely and specifically to consecrate Russia – by name – to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

3.Q. How can Catholic best practices be effective at turning things around this late in the game – including obtaining more graces toward the consecration of Russia – with so few practicing and/or devout Catholics with which to implement them?

– 16 –

CROSS+ROADS

3.A. Through the multiplyer of the communion of Saints. Not just the storehouse from which indulgences are provided, but by the communion of saints – via The Mystical Body of Christ, The Catholic Church – a means exists to multiply Graces, and most abundantly so through Our Blessed Mother’s intercession. This is even made more effective if we have made the Saint Louis de Montfort consecration to her. And the efficacy of our Rosaries are likewise multiplied by joining Saint Louis de Montfort’s Confraternity of the Rosary which incidentally, qualifies our Rosary for a plenary indulgence – under the usual conditions.

Moreover, the faithful may follow the example of Our Lord and carry the cross for those who – for whatever reason – cannot. So after making the Five First Saturday devotions requested at Fatima for ourselves, we can (and should in these critical times) continue to make them for others – i.e. for those who cannot – in the spirit of carrying our brother’s and sister’s crosses, offering them up to Our Lord through Our Lady to distribute as she sees fit. This could dramatically help accelerate the attainment of the graces necessary toward Russia’s consecration.

Furthermore, we can do the same with our Rosary. After praying the Rosary – as requested at Fatima – we can completely offer a second one to another. While we’re used to praying for our own intentions (which might include another’s intentions), this differs because it’s effectively praying another person’s Rosary for them. We then ask Our Lady to give all of the merits of it to the one proposed, or to the one she proposes. This could provide the recipient the added benefits of the Rosary – those usually reserved to the one praying it – which include among others, protection from heresy. This could be efficacious when done for a prelate of good will for example, but who’s nevertheless weak and drifting toward heresy.

In the meantime, the faithful can endeavor to fulfill the other requests of Our Lady of Fatima which not only include the daily Rosary and the Five First Saturday devotion, but also devotion to The Immaculate Heart of Mary, wearing the brown
scapular, praying the seven Fatima prayers and dressing modestly.

Yours in Jesus through Mary

CHRISTIANITY IS CAUGHT BETWEEN A MILITANT ISLAM WHICH WILL NOT TOLERATE ITS EXISTENCE AND A MILITANT CHINA WHICH WILL NOT TOLERATE ITS INDEPENDENT EXISTENCE

ISLAM

Responding to a Fundamental Crisis Within Islam Itself

JULY 11, 2020BY YAHYA CHOLIL STAQUFIf we are to abolish the primordial cycle of hatred, tyranny, and violence that plagues humanity, and avert civilizational disaster, people of all faiths must work together to prevent the political weaponization of fundamentalist Islam. We should learn from the unique heritage of Muslims on the Indonesian island of Java, who defeated Muslim extremists in the sixteenth century and restored freedom of religion for all citizens, two centuries before the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom and the Bill of Rights led to the separation of state and religion in the United States.

When US attorney Stephen Rasche left his practice and moved to northern Iraq to assist its long-suffering Christians, he confronted a grotesque reality that most Westerners have the luxury of ignoring. In The Disappearing People, Rasche paints a disturbingly vivid picture of the tragedy he witnessed in Iraq.

Rasche does not shy away from identifying the fundamental cause of Christianity’s disappearance from its historic birthplace in the Middle East. The calamitous fate of Iraq’s Christians—so diligently and movingly documented by Rasche’s irrefutable first-hand testimony—is simply the latest chapter in a long and tragic history of religious persecution in the Muslim world. From sub-Saharan Africa to South and Southeast Asia, religious minorities often experience severe discrimination and violence inflicted by those who embrace a supremacist, ultraconservative interpretation of Islam that has been widely propagated in recent decades by Middle East states, including long-time US allies Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

This stark reality confronts each of us with a profound moral choice: shall we remain silent and ignore the suffering of others, so long as it does not directly affect us? Or shall we pursue the truth and obey the dictates of conscience, whatever the consequences may be?

Shall we remain silent and ignore the suffering of others, so long as it does not directly affect us? Or shall we pursue the truth and obey the dictates of conscience, whatever the consequences may be?

The horrendous violence that has engulfed so much of the Islamic world threatens not only those who dwell in Nigeria, Sudan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, or Pakistan, but also those of us who live in seemingly tranquil societies far away. If we wish to end this primordial cycle of hatred, tyranny, and violence—which also periodically erupts, to tragic effect, on the streets of Jakarta, Mumbai, London, Paris, and New York—we must ask a number of questions that require difficult and honest answers.

Perhaps the most burning of these questions is “Why?” Why did the killers of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), who stormed across the Nineveh plains in 2014, display such remarkable savagery toward Yazidis and Christians? Any informed and intellectually honest inquiry into this question will produce an unambiguous and profoundly disturbing answer: the doctrine, goals, and strategy of these extremists can be readily traced to specific tenets of orthodox, authoritative Islam and its historic practice, including those portions of fiqh (classical Islamic law, also known as shari‘ah) that enjoin Islamic supremacy, encourage enmity toward non-Muslims, and require the establishment of a universal Islamic state, or caliphate.

To prevent the further spread of violent Islamist extremism, Muslims and non-Muslims must work together, drawing on the peaceful aspects of Islamic teaching to encourage respect for religious pluralism and the fundamental dignity of every human being, regardless of creed.

The Enduring Legacy of the Ottoman Caliphate

ISIS’s quest to establish an Islamic state, and the inevitable consequences of this for anyone deemed to be “non-Muslim,” is not a historical aberration in the Middle East. Rather, it is the historical norm. Throughout Islamic history, until the collapse of the Ottoman empire and the formal abolition of the Caliphate in 1924, the Middle East has been dominated by caliphs and/or those who ruled in their name, and governed according to the provisions of classical Islamic law.

There is nothing especially novel about ISIS, other than its eruption in the twenty-first century and its use of modern communications technology. Prior to the American and French Revolutions, and particularly the First World War, the political map of the world consisted primarily of competing empires, kingdoms, and tribal confederations. Virtually all developed states embraced an official religion, whose orthodox tenets were shaped and/or enforced by the ruler and officials of the administrative state.

Within the Islamic world, the Ottoman Caliphate (1362 – 1924 CE) asserted its claim to embody the orthodox ideal of a unified Muslim community, led by a pious Muslim ruler who adhered to the basic tenets of Islamic (Sunni) orthodoxy. Similarly, the Safavid dynasty and its successors, in Iran, based their claim to political power on fundamental tenets of Islamic (Shi‘ite) orthodoxy.

The full enjoyment of legal privileges by the subjects of these empires was predicated on their religious identity conforming to that of the empire. For example, the Ottoman Caliphate systematically discriminated against non-Muslims by enforcing a wide range of orthodox Islamic tenets that govern the treatment of conquered non-Muslims, or dhimmīyūn, as did other Sunni and Shi‘ite rulers throughout the Islamic world, with the exception of Nusantara (the Malay Archipelago) and of Java in particular.

While the Ottoman Caliphate collapsed nearly a century ago, its operational assumptions and the classical corpus of Islamic jurisprudence, or fiqh, through which it was governed have remained deeply embedded within Muslim societies. As a result, obsolete and problematic elements of fiqh are still taught by most orthodox Sunni and Shi‘ite institutions worldwide as authoritative and correct. These teachings, even when not enshrined in statutory law, nonetheless retain considerable religious authority and social legitimacy among Muslims, forming part of what Indonesia’s Nahdlatul Ulama—the world’s largest Islamic organization—has termed the “prevailing Muslim mindset.”

A Threat to All Humanity

The fundamentalist/supremacist view of Islam that these obsolete and problematic tenets of Islamic orthodoxy endorse may be readily harnessed to serve the interests of those with a political agenda. This is evident from history and the savage conflicts now roiling much of the Islamic world. In 2017, the young adults movement of Nahdlatul Ulama published an 8,000-word analysis of the manner in which state and non-state actors have systematically “weaponized” orthodox Islamic teachings. The Gerakan Pemuda Ansor Declaration on Humanitarian Islam—which also provides a detailed road map for recontextualizing (i.e., reforming) these obsolete tenets—explicitly states:

The Islamic world is in the midst of a rapidly metastasizing crisis, with no apparent sign of remission. Among the most obvious manifestations of this crisis are the brutal conflicts now raging across a huge swath of territory inhabited by Muslims, from Africa and the Middle East to the borders of India; rampant social turbulence throughout the Islamic world; the unchecked spread of religious extremism and terror; and a rising tide of Islamophobia among non-Muslim populations, in direct response to these developments.

Most of the political and military actors engaged in these conflicts pursue their competing agendas without regard to the cost in human lives and misery. This has led to an immense humanitarian crisis, while heightening the appeal and dramatically accelerating the spread of a de facto Islamist revolutionary movement that threatens the stability and security of the entire world, by summoning Muslims to join a global insurrection against the current world order.

In other words, the crisis that engulfs the Islamic world is not limited to armed conflicts raging in various and sundry regions. Due to the transcendent value ascribed to religious belief by the vast majority of Muslims, the competition for power in the Islamic world necessarily includes a major sectarian/ideological (i.e., religious) component.

Various actors—including but not limited to Iran, Saudi Arabia, ISIS, al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Qatar, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Taliban and Pakistan—cynically manipulate religious sentiment in their struggle to maintain or acquire political, economic and military power, and to destroy their enemies. They do so by drawing upon key elements of classical Islamic law (fiqh), to which they ascribe divine authority, in order to mobilize support for their worldly goals.”

ISIS is no exception to this rule. Its claim to notoriety lies in the fact that, for a time, it successfully filled the power vacuum left in Sunni Arab areas of Mesopotamia in the wake of the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq and the Arab Spring. This enabled ISIS to implement a program for government that, prior to its emergence, had been a mere aspiration for modern Islamist extremists, derived from fiqhmanuals written by medieval Muslim jurists.

The Status of Religious Minorities

The consequences of these fiqh teachings for religious minorities in the Middle East are clear, for the conduct of ISIS toward these minorities is consistent with historical patterns and a fundamentalist reading of Islamic orthodoxy. This orthodoxy posits the existence of a supreme leader of the Muslim community (Imām), in whom is vested absolute political authority, and upon whom the rights of non-Muslims depend.

According to the dictates of this legal system, non-Muslims have no rights independent of those granted to them by the Imam, who is responsible for preserving order. In the absence of an Imam, “infidels” are in danger of losing their protected status. Throughout Islamic history, political chaos has often been accompanied by the murder, robbery, rape, and/or enslavement of non-Muslims. This feature of Islamic orthodoxy explains, in part, the recurrent cycles of persecution, expulsion, and/or violence to which non-Muslim populations have been subjected in Iraq and throughout the Middle East.

After the fall of Mosul to ISIS in 2014, for example, leaders of the city’s Christian community were summoned to a council to “negotiate” a new dhimmī (literally “protection”) contract, by which their rights and status would ostensibly be guaranteed by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Imam of the newly proclaimed ISIS Caliphate. Naturally fearing for their safety, and rejecting the punitive conditions that would likely be imposed upon them by ISIS as part of this dhimmī contract, Mosul’s Christians refused to attend the council. Lacking protection from the Imam, the status of Christians in and around Mosul reverted, in the view of ISIS, to that of unprotected infidels who may be killed or enslaved on sight. ISIS’s subsequent treatment of Christians was in accordance with this designation and in line with a fundamentalist reading of Islamic law.

A Crisis in the Middle East

It is precisely this lack of rights for non-Muslims within classical fiqh—apart from those granted at the sufferance of a Muslim autocrat—to which the Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Bashar Warda of Erbil referred in a heartfelt speech titled, “The Future of Religious Pluralism in Iraq,” delivered at Georgetown University under the auspices of the Religious Freedom Project (the precursor organization of the Religious Freedom Institute) on February 15, 2018:

We Christians, a people who have endured persecution in patience and faith for 1,400 years, now confront an existential struggle. It is possibly the last struggle we will confront in Iraq. The most immediate cause is the ISIS attacks that led to the displacement of more than 125,000 Christians from our historical homelands and rendered us, in a single night, without shelter and refuge, without work or properties, without churches and monasteries, without the ability to participate in any of the things which give one a life of dignity: family visits, celebration of weddings and births, the sharing of sorrows. Our tormentors confiscated our present while also seeking to wipe out our history and destroy our future.

And yet we are still there. Scourged, battered, and wounded. Yet still there. And having survived thus far, to this point of near finality, we have been granted a position of clarity and courage that we have perhaps lacked, or avoided, up until this day. We can no longer ignore the fundamental cause of what has been a relentless persecution of our people for nearly a millennium and a half. Having faced for 1,400 years a slow motion genocide that began long before the ongoing ISIS genocide today, the time for excusing this inhuman behavior and its causes is long since past.

When a people have nothing left to lose, in some sense it is very liberating, and from this position of clarity and new-found courage, I must speak to you honestly on behalf of my people and speak to you the truth.

The truth is that there is a fundamental crisis within Islam itself and if this crisis is not acknowledged, addressed, and fixed then there can be no future for Christians or any other form of religious plurality in the Middle East. Indeed, there is little reason to see a future for anyone in the Middle East, including within the Muslim world itself, other than in the context of continued violence, revenge, and hatred. And as we have seen too many times, this violence seeks to overtake us all, and destroy vulnerable innocent lives wherever it can find them…

Prior to the ISIS horror of 2014, we Iraqi Christians had historically endeavored to maintain a dialogue of life with Muslims. In this dialogue we refrained from speaking honestly and truthfully to our oppressors in order to simply survive and live quietly. We would not openly face the long history of violence and murder inflicted upon us. We did not push back against the constantly recurring periods of extremism that inflicted such pain and violence against the innocents, both Muslim and Christian alike. But following the horror of ISIS there is nothing left for us now but to speak plainly and unreservedly: there is a crisis of violence in Islam and for the sake of humanity, including the followers of Islam themselves, it must be addressed openly and honestly.

At the root of all of this we must be straightforward about the reality of the teachings of Jihad, which are the justification for all these acts of violence. Apologists for the history of the last 1,400 years of oppression against Christians will point to the various periods of Muslim tolerance regarding Christians, as the possible and desired alternative to the other periods of violence and persecution. One cannot deny that such periods of relative tolerance have existed. And yet all such periods of tolerance have been a one-way experience, in which the Islamic rulers decide, according to their own judgment, whether the Christians and other non-Muslims are to be tolerated in their beliefs or not. It is never, and has never, ever, been a question of equality. Fundamentally, in the eyes of Islam, we Christians and all other non-Muslims are not equal, and are not to be treated as equal, only to be tolerated or not, depending upon the intensity of the spirit of Jihad that prevails at the time.

Such is the cycle of history that has recurred in the Middle East over the past 1,400 years, and with each successive cycle the number of Christians and other non-Muslims has decreased until we have reached the point which exists in Iraq today—the point of extinction. Argue as you will, but this coming extinction will likely soon be fact, and what then will anyone be able to say? That we were made extinct by natural disaster, or gentle migration? That the ISIS attacks were unprecedented? Or in our disappearance will the truth emerge: that we were persistently and steadily eliminated over the course of 1,400 years by a belief system which allowed for regular and recurring cycles of violence against us . . .

The math of this equation is not complicated. One group is taught that they are superior and legally entitled to treat others as inferior human beings on the sole basis of their faith and religious practices. This teaching inevitably leads to violence against any “inferiors” who refuse to change their faith. And there you have it—the history of Christians and religious minorities in the Middle East for the last 1,400 years.

Islam in Another Context

Far from the Islamic “heartland” of the Arab, Turkish, and Persian Middle East, Indonesia has never been a part of any of that region’s historic caliphates. This separation has enabled the Nusantara (“East Indies”) civilization to develop a spiritual view of Islam that tends to view shari‘ah as a set of universal principles that all religions recognize and acknowledge, rather than an inflexible set of rules developed by classical Muslim jurists for running a pre-modern state. This unique civilizational heritage enabled Muslims on the island of Java—which constitutes the geographic, political and economic center of Indonesia—to defeat Muslim extremists in the sixteenth century, and restore freedom of religion for all Javanese two centuries before the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom and the Bill of Rights led to the separation of state and religion in the United States.

It was this “civilizational wisdom” that inspired the creation of Indonesia as a multi-religious and pluralistic nation state in 1945. It also enabled Indonesia’s first democratically elected president, H.E. KH. Abdurrahman Wahid—backed by Indonesia’s Nahdlatul Ulama—to transform it into the world’s third largest democracy following the overthrow of President Suharto’s authoritarian regime in 1998. In spite of these enormous advantages, however, Indonesia has continued to grapple with the tension that exists between Islamic orthodoxy and the ideals of equality of citizenship and equality before the law, which form the bedrock of both its political settlement and the modern nation state.

Obsolete and problematic tenets of Islamic orthodoxy do in fact exist. These enjoin religious enmity, supremacy, and violence, fueling Islamist extremism among Muslim communities throughout the world, including Indonesia.

So long as obsolete, medieval tenets within Islamic orthodoxy remain the dominant source of religious authority throughout the Muslim world, Indonesian Islamists will continue to draw power and sustenance from developments in the world at large. This is especially true so long as key state actors—including Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan—continue to weaponize problematic tenets of Islamic orthodoxy in pursuit of their respective geopolitical agendas.

These considerations have led key figures within the NU—including Abdurrahman Wahid in the months and years prior to his death, and former NU Chairman Kyai Haji A. Mustofa Bisri—to conclude that it would be impossible to permanently resolve the tension that is inherent between Islamic orthodoxy and NKRI/UUD-45 (the Indonesian nation state and its constitution), so long as we confine our efforts to the domestic, or purely Indonesian, context of the perennial Islamist threat.

Preserving Indonesia’s unique civilizational heritage—which gave birth to NKRI as a multi religious and pluralistic nation-state—requires the successful implementation of a global strategy to develop a new Islamic orthodoxy that reflects the actual circumstances of the modern world in which Muslims must live and practice their faith.

This global effort, already launched by key elements of the Nahdlatul Ulama—including its 5-million-strong young adults organization, Gerakan Pemuda Ansor—is not just an inevitable corollary of efforts to defeat Islamist subversion of Indonesia. It is vital to the well-being and preservation of virtually every other nation in the world, whose laws are derived from modern political processes and whose people and governments do not wish to be subsumed in a universal Islamic caliphate or exhausted by the struggle to prevent its establishment.

The recontextualization and reform of Islamic orthodoxy is thus crucial to the welfare of Muslims and non-Muslims alike, for it constitutes the one indispensable prerequisite of any rational and humane solution to the multi-dimensional crisis that has plagued the Muslim world for over a century and not only shows no sign of abating—despite an ever-growing toll of human lives and misery—but rather, increasingly threatens to spill over and engulf humanity as a whole.

A Chain Reaction of Violence

ISIS’s genocidal campaign in Iraq and the Levant has set off a chain reaction of violence and retaliation with profound global implications. Across a vast arc of territory stretching from the Western Sahel to the Southern Philippines, Islamist groups inspired by ISIS’s “success” are pursuing their own campaigns of mass killing, displacement, and terror that threaten to break the already badly frayed bonds of trust that make a shared communal life between Muslims and non-Muslims possible.

Jihadis’ highly symbolic acts of desecration and astute use of propaganda have associated Islam with terrorism in the minds of many non-Muslims, strengthened politically opportunistic elements worldwide, and fueled an intensifying cycle of retaliatory violence that threatens all of our futures. Whether it be a white supremacist slaughtering Muslims at prayer at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, the wholesale and systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing perpetrated against Rohingya Muslims by the government of Myanmar, the hi-tech, totalitarian repression of millions of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang, or the weaponization of Islam for political gain in the West, innocent Muslims are suffering the consequences of this global reawakening of “tribal” identities.

The cycle of retaliatory bloodshed we are witnessing is deeply rooted in history, including ancient animosities embedded in the collective memory of entire ethnic and religious groups. It is precisely these hatreds that extremists seek to awaken through heinous and shocking acts of terror. If we are to avert disaster and stem this primordial cycle of hatred, tyranny, and violence, it is imperative for people of goodwill of every faith and nation to join in building a global consensus to prevent the political weaponization of Islam, whether by Muslims or non-Muslims, and to curtail the spread of communal hatred by fostering the emergence of a truly just and harmonious world order, founded on respect for the equal rights and dignity of every human being.

Dismantling the Theology that Underlies Islamist Violence

The spiritual leadership of Nahdlatul Ulama is working to ensure that the world’s largest Muslim organization plays its part in this tremendous undertaking, by dismantling and replacing the theology that underlies and animates Islamist violence. In 2019, the NU Central Board published fiqh rulings based on a gathering of nearly 20,000 Muslim religious scholars from across Indonesia’s vast archipelago (“2019 Munas”) that endorsed the concept of a nation-state rather than caliphate, recognized all citizens, irrespective of their ethnicity or religion, as having equal rights and obligations, decreed that Muslims must obey the laws of any modern nation-state in which they dwell, and affirmed that Muslims have a religious obligation to foster peace rather than automatically wage war on behalf of their co-religionists, whenever conflict erupts between Muslim and non-Muslim populations anywhere in the world.

A central feature of these 2019 Munas rulings is the abolition of the legal category of infidel (kāfir) within Islamic law (fiqh), so that non-Muslims may enjoy full equality as fellow citizens in their own right, rather than rely on protection at the sufferance of a Muslim ruler.

And so, we return to the story with which we started: in The Disappearing People. Stephen Rasche has provided a vivid account of an entire religious community’s near-extinction in the very place of its birth, the ancient Middle East. By implication, Rasche has also described an existential threat that confronts all of us, Muslim and non-Muslim alike. It simply remains to be seen whether we will heed his warning and act in time to prevent similar disasters from befalling those of us who dwell in blessed lands, seemingly distant from the horrifying chaos that engulfs so much of the Islamic world.

SOCIALISM HAS NOT WORKED IN ANY COUNTRY WHERE IT IS BEING TRIED, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD WE WANT TO TRY IT HERE IN THE United States OF AMERICA ????????????????????

Wondering Why Joe Biden’s Platform Looks So Familiar? Check Out Who He Literally Ripped Off To Put It Together

(Liberty Bell) – Plagiarism is a pretty big deal in the modern world. Actually, it’s always been a big no-no, but we just have better tools today for discovering when someone is ripping the ideas off of another human being and taking credit for them.

Thanks, Internet.

Along those lines, a lot of individuals have noticed that presumptive nominee Joe Biden’s campaign platform seems really doggone familiar. It’s almost like they have seen it somewhere before. Well, that’s not just deja vu they’re feeling.

The reason his platform seems eerily familiar is because he ripped off from Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Like pretty much verbatim.

Here’s more on that from PJ Media:

It’s uncanny. Bernie Sanders writes something and it comes out of Joe Biden’s mouth.

Stumbling word for word.

The front-running Democratic candidate is once again being given the organized Left’s full-throated endorsement and, why wouldn’t they? Biden has literally stolen – plagiarized – their very words and platforms, as an oppo-research study has just revealed.

On MSNBC Bernie Sanders said if Joe does what he says he’ll do, Biden will be the most far-Left – “progressive” – president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/index.html?dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-0&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1281039709683187714&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fmyfellowpatriots.com%2Flibertybell-alerts%2F&theme=light&widgetsVersion=9066bb2%3A1593540614199&width=550px

And that’s saying something, since Bernie is a legit far-Leftist — a “democratic socialist,” whatever that means.

Biden has signed on to Sanders’s ban on charter schools at a time when 74% of black parents and 69% of parents overall support it, but obeisance to the teachers’ union cartel requires it.

Biden and Sanders released their DNC platform recommendations: “The plan bans for-profit private charter schools, opposes private school vouchers and any policies that would take taxpayer-funded resources away from the public school system.”https://platform.twitter.com/embed/index.html?dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-1&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1280981247452426240&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fmyfellowpatriots.com%2Flibertybell-alerts%2F&theme=light&widgetsVersion=9066bb2%3A1593540614199&width=550px

That’s right, folks. Biden is officially that kid in class who leans over your desk and copies down your answers for the big test. This shouldn’t at all be surprising to those of us who have been paying attention to politics lately. It’s become quite apparent that Biden is both lazy and cognitively deficient, therefore, coming up with his own platform thoughtfully engaging the issues affecting Americans and developing original solutions to benefit the citizens of the country are beyond his scope.

That’s not the only issue that Biden has literally plagiarized from Sanders’ and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s “unity task force” platforms for his presidential run.

Do you doubt?

Here are Joe and Bernie’s exact plans to get rid of police officers and replace them with social workers. Indeed, Biden recently referred to the police as “the enemy.”

Federal funding to create a civilian corps of unarmed first responders such as social workers, EMTs, and trained mental health professionals, who can handle non- violent emergencies including order maintenance violations, mental health emergencies, and low-level conflicts outside the criminal justice system, freeing police officers to concentrate on the most serious crimes.

That’s straight out of the socialists’ playbook.

Here’s Biden’s “workplace democracy plan” for the economy which includes – stop me if you’ve heard this before – a $15.00 minimum wage.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/index.html?dnt=true&embedId=twitter-widget-2&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1281011891121381376&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fmyfellowpatriots.com%2Flibertybell-alerts%2F&theme=light&widgetsVersion=9066bb2%3A1593540614199&width=550px

Unbelievable.

This is what conservatives are referring to when they say that the left in America is a groupthink entity. All of the individuals in the progressive movement are required to hold to the same talking points. Deviation from said talking points results in being shamed back in line with the other drones or worse.

Joe cribbed Bernie’s disability agenda and social security agenda.

Biden’s environmental plan looks like it’s straight out of AOC’s solar airplane idea-land, though, we note, those airplanes didn’t make Biden’s plan. However, the environment is in a state of emergency and we’re all going to die in (checks watch) ten years. Wait, or is it nine?

Climate change is a global emergency. We have no time to waste in taking action to protect Americans’ lives and futures. From Houston, Texas, to Paradise, California; from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Davenport, Iowa, the last four years have seen record-breaking storms, devastating wildfires, and historic floods.

Floods, pestilence, fires are an environmental disaster. Never mind that we do not allow firefighters to put out fires or manage forests anymore. Quiet. Conform. We’re in a “climate crisis” here, people. Bernie – er – I mean Joe said so.

Scientists inform us we must achieve net-zero carbon emissions across our economy as quickly as possible in order to avoid the worst consequences of the climate crisis. The United States— and the world—is currently heading well over the remaining carbon budget allowed to achieve that goal.

You’d think Bernie would be really angry over the fact that there is essentially no difference between his platform and that of Biden, considering he didn’t win the primary. This clearly points to the Democratic Party despising Sanders and pooling their resources behind Biden, believing he had a better chance of winning against Trump simply because he’s a reminder, a leftover, of the Obama administration.

Please note: this is the moment when the phrase “carbon budget” came into national prominence.

But back to Bernie and Joe. Look, Joe, if you’re going to steal someone’s ideas, which you have a history of doing, then why did you leave Bernie’s name at the top of the worksheet?

Apparently, Biden and his crack team of campaign professionals and political experts cannot come up with an original idea to save their souls. Or, the more likely scenario, the Democratic Party has always been behind Bernie’s ideas, but not Bernie personally, therefore, they have stripped what they liked from the Vermont senator and tacked it on to Biden, hoping to not only get their agenda passed, but to impress young voters into coming out against Trump by voting Biden.

Smells of desperation, right?

THE MYSTERY OF THE SUNDAY ANGELUS TALK BY Jorge Bergolio

This is really starting to smell fishy……like rotten fish!!!

Be brave. We have got to have our eyes wide open.

Nothing to be gained by putting our heads in the sand regarding how very bad this China – Bergoglio relationship is and where it is all going.

God bless and stay strong with the Lord and His Holy Mother beside us all the way.

Antonio Socci: The Mystery of the Sunday Angelus

GIUSEPPE PELLEGRINO·TUESDAY, 7 JULY 2020·Public

THE MYSTERY OF THE SUNDAY ANGELUS

By Antonio Socci

First published at “Libero” and at Antonio Socci’s website

ï        What are the true contents of the still secret agreement between the Vatican and the Chinese Communist regime?

ï        And why, after two years, is it still hidden?

ï        What is there to hide?

The question is ever more pressing, because last Sunday a true detective story unfolded.

Immediately following the Sunday Angelus, Vatican journalist Marco Tosatti, on his widely followed blog Stilum Curiaerevealed that in the bulletin distributed to journalists before the Pope’s prayer, there were some important remarks prepared on the crisis of Hong Kong, where the Beijing regime is definitively crushing freedom and autonomy.

His remarks were to be read immediately after the Angelus prayer, when, just like every Sunday, the Pope speaks about the issues he considers to be the most pressing news. These were the (pre-announced) words that the Pope was supposed to read:

“Recently, I have followed with particular attention and not without concern the development of the complex situation in Hong Kong, and I wish to show above all my heartfelt closeness to all the inhabitants of that territory. In the current context, the issues addressed are undoubtedly delicate and affect everyone’s life; therefore it is understandable that there is a marked sensitivity in this regard. I hope therefore that all the people involved will know how to face the various problems with a spirit of far-sighted wisdom and authentic dialogue. This requires courage, humility, non-violence, and respect for the dignity and rights of all. I thus express the desire that societal freedom, and especially religious freedom, be expressed in full and true liberty, as indeed various international documents provide for it. I accompany with my constant prayer the entire Catholic community and all people of good will in Hong Kong, so that they can construct a prosperous and harmonious society together.

However, Tosatti reveals, shortly before the Pope appeared at the window in St. Peter’s Square, journalists were advised that the section of the prepared remarks about Hong Kong would not be spoken. And in fact the pope did not read it. Thus – since it was a text under embargo – it is officially non-existent.

The Vatican has not given any explanation of this singular incident. The discourse cited above, moreover, is not at all harsh with Beijing. It would have been a significant intervention only because it would have been the first time Bergoglio said something about the drama of Hong Kong.

It is well known, in fact, that despite his very marked interventionism on all sorts of political and social questions, the Argentinian Pope has been completely taciturn on the Chinese repression of Hong Kong, just as he has been on all ussues concerning human rights and religious freedom in China.

When he speaks of China, he always does so in an exclusively positive way, with expressions of great courtesy towards his communist tyrants.

Tosatti, after reconstructing Sunday’s detective story, then raises all the right questions about it. He asks, “What sort of pressure has Beijing put on the Pope so that he would not speak on world television about the drama of the former British colony, even in the most delicate and peaceful tones possible?”

And he notes that “this episode sheds even worse light – if that is possible – on the famous secret agreement signed between Beijing and the Holy See, whose consequences are being heavily felt in the lives of many Chinese Catholics, despite the propaganda of Vatican media. It is an agreement that risks constituting one of the most sensational errors in the history of Vatican diplomacy, and also one of the worst decisions of the Pope who wanted it and endorsed it, unlike his predecessors.”

But the problem does not concern only Chinese Christians. It concerns the entire Church. One must wonder whether the Pope is still free and if the Vatican is now subjected to Beijing, as many fear.

It is an unheard of and disturbing situation. Probably the Italian media will be silent about the event, but the case could make an impression in the United States, even on a political level: at the White House.

Now recapping on an excerptfrom the recent article from Church Militant on this China – Vatican situation in which Liz Yore lets fly on the matter.

But “We’ve gotta watch the Vatican,” former prosecutor and investigative journalist Liz Yore urged on War Room Pandemic last week, as she alerted the public to the Vatican’s ties with the CCP.

The Vatican’s Global Compact on Education, scheduled for Oct. 15, has partnered with “One People, One Planet [which] is sponsored by, none other than, Huwei[a telecommunications provider blacklisted by the United States due to national security concerns]” Yore reported.

Speaking to the type of education that can be expected at the conference that occurs less than two weeks before the U.S. election, Yore said bluntly: “Pope Francis is virulently anti-American and communist … .”

To explain how the Holy See and the CCP became bedfellows, she pointed toChinese President Xi Jinping’s “globalist” speech at Davos in 2017 when he said, “All roads lead to Rome” to illustrate his plan for how to invade world markets. “Apparently, all bank accounts lead to the Vatican as well,” Yore remarked.

Her remark echoed other recent news that sheds light on details of the secret Chinese-Vatican agreement.

On June 22, social media was atwitter with exiled Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui’s claim that Beijing is paying off the Vatican to stay silent about the CCP’s repression of religious freedom and plans for world domination as part of the 2018 agreement.

Yore agreed. “Xi’s got his money’s worth,” she said, explaining that the CCP bought silence from the pope on the Hong Kong violence against freedom marchers and China’s forced organ harvesting program, called one of the worst mass atrocities of the century. It also accounts for his praise for the “great job” China and the CCP did in containing the Wuhan virus.

“This is mind-boggling,” she said. “For decades we’ve had popes rail against the CCP, rail against the Patriotic Church, and along comes Francis … .”

In a pithy assessment of the whole situation, she said: “The CCP has snagged the moral voice of the vicar of Christ.”

THIS PANDEMIC HAS BEEN PLANNED AND IN THE WORKS FOR A LONG TIME BY OUR ENEMIES, CHINA, RUSSIA AND THE MOSLEM WORLD

COVID: what was the plan all along?(To read about Jon’s mega-collection, The Matrix Revealedclick here.)The plan all along was: sell a STORY about “a new virus.”

A virus that researchers would believe they had discovered—but didn’t.

The researchers are cultishly devoted to procedures of discovery that are scientifically useless and non-valid, as I’ve explained in several articles.

A few questions:

Why would elite players have run all these pandemic exercises, drills, planning sessions, and table-top simulations well in advance of the “outbreak,” so that anyone with a computer could discover them in hours?

Why would a few of these exercises have openly named a coronavirus as the cause of the upcoming pandemic?

The plan all along was to dupe people into believing that a real virus was spreading across the globe.

The tabletop exercises, the drills, the exercises, the seminars, the announcement of the discovery of a new virus—all of these tactics were part and parcel of convincing people that the story of a new virus was real.

And if you doubt that so many researchers, planners, public health officials could be “in on the conspiracy,” you’re absolutely right.  No need for conscious knowledge.  99.99 percent of the players are already true believers in THE VIRUS.

You’ve got, say, a dozen “pre-pandemic” tabletop exercises, and all in all, there are 300 people sitting at tables, and they believe they’re talking about a real deadly virus—because by prior medical training and propaganda, they were taught to be true believers.

And at those exercises, there was one man sitting inconspicuously at the table, or leaning quietly against a wall, observing, who knew the truth.  He was there to make sure the believers never wavered.

If someone wants to make a movie about reality, there it is.

A variation: Twenty CIA people are sitting at a table planning a covert infiltration of, and a revolution in, a foreign country WHICH IS THE ENEMY—and everyone at the table believes that foreign country IS the enemy.  Except for one man.  He knows the CIA has already created, through propaganda, A FALSE STORY about that country being the enemy.

There are dozens of variations on this theme, which is: the true believers, and the operator who knows the truth.

Another example: a “patriot” CEO with deep pockets commits his workers and resources to building up weapons for the war effort; but at the same time, he is secretly selling armaments to the enemy.  He’s playing a bigger game.  99.9 percent of everyone else believes the war is being fought honestly.

A phony televangelist is preaching to huge crowds and raking in donations.  Only a few trusted associates know the whole operation is a con.  The crowds are true believers.

Fill in your own examples of the basic theme.  It’s standard practice in small and large operations.  It’s no surprise, that in the case of COVID, the same m.o. should be in play.  But in this operation, “science” is touted as the proof to satisfy all the faithful.  And science is a very convincing hustle.

Behind the hustle is a political hierarchy.  That means only carefully chosen scientists are allowed to stand next to the president on television and lie through their teeth to the public.

The COVID plan, all along, involved lockdowns and economic devastation.  That was and is the short-term goal.  The story about a virus is the means to arriving at the fulfillment of the goal.

It’s possible that the next phase of the plan will involve an excuse to assign energy-use quotas and limits to nations.  Ordinarily, this would be sold via a story about climate change.  After the virus hoax and the lockdowns, some fairy tale about needing “re-allocation” of energy in order to reopen national economies “with justice” might be the ticket.  Don’t look for logic.  The planners use fake logic, just as they use fake viruses.

Globalist technocrats yearn for energy quotas.  They want to monitor and control the ongoing energy use of every human.  It’s part of their vision for re-engineering society, to resemble a machine.

Stay tuned.  Stay resistant.  Revenge of the Nerds wasn’t just a movie.

From NRO’s Bench Memos:

Why Conservative Justices Are More Likely To Defect

By ED WHELAN

July 10, 2020 11:17 AM

In a recent Washington Post op-ed that bears the same title as this post, Harvard law professor Adrian Vermeule undertakes to explain “a basic asymmetry: While conservative justices often break ranks to give liberals a 5-to-4 majority, liberal justices rarely do the same in reverse.” In this post, I’d like to comment on Vermeule’s observations and also build on them to explain why the process of selecting and confirming Supreme Court justices has reinforced this asymmetry.

Let’s start with Vermeule’s account. Vermeule considers and rejects two explanations for the asymmetry and offers and embraces a third. The first explanation that he rejects as “suspiciously partisan” is that liberal justices are “systematically less principled.” But since the progressive “living constitutionalist” approach to constitutional interpretation has no discernible principles, I’m not persuaded that this explanation can be so readily dismissed.

The second explanation that Vermeule rejects is that “swing justices are not following the written law but their own personal preferences or individual self-interest” and that “they are overwhelmed by the political, social and cultural pressures of the left-elite milieu, especially the praise or censure of the mainstream media.” He finds this explanation unsatisfactory, as it “fails to explain why defections have persisted or even increased as the influence of the mainstream media has declined” and “posits either conscious infidelity to law or an implausible lack of self-awareness.” I’m not convinced that the “influence of the mainstream media has declined.” While I’m also not eager to impute to any justice “conscious infidelity to law,” I don’t think that it is at all “implausible” to believe that justices delude themselves about their acquiescence to the “political, social and cultural pressures of the left-elite milieu.”

Indeed, it seems to me that the third explanation that Vermeule embraces is—other than at the level of political theory—not very different from the second. Vermeule posits that conservative justices who defect are enforcing “our real, unwritten constitution, a set of understandings that underlies and shapes our interpretation of the law” (his emphasis) and that “embodies a liberal order”:

What are the principles underlying our unwritten constitution? It is best understood as a sociopolitical order that privileges a particular set of commitments held passionately by educated urban professionals and what Joel Kotkin and Fred Siegel have termed “gentry liberals.” Among these … are ensuring a high rate of immigration, encouraged by policies against full enforcement of the law, and protecting sexual expression and liberty, including contraception, abortion and unconstrained expression of sexual preference and gender identity. These beliefs are not spelled out explicitly in law, yet they exert a gravitational force that powerfully influences the justices’ interpretations.

My point here is not to dispute (indeed, not to take any position on) Vermeule’s theory of the “liberal order.” It is merely to observe that, debates over political theory aside, I see little or no meaningful difference between whether a conservative justice defects because he unconsciously surrenders to the “political, social and cultural pressures of the left-elite milieu” or because he allows the “gravitational force” of the “liberal order” to “skew” his decisions.

Under either of these explanations, what makes one conservative justice more likely than another to defect? One obvious variable is how genuinely conservative, as a matter of judicial philosophy, the justice is. But I’d suggest that factors of character and personality also come into play. A justice who likes to be liked, or who desires to be admired, or who is eager to go along to get along (what I’ll call Type 1) is far more susceptible to stray than a justice who is inner-directed and anchored, who doesn’t care about being popular or who is even contrary or cantankerous (Type 2). Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito are all Type 2.

One unfortunate reality is that the process of selecting and confirming Supreme Court justices strongly favors Type 1 conservatives. The nomination and confirmation processes are intensely political, and the qualities of Type 1 conservatives correlate strongly with qualities that are politically appealing and salient. Advisers to the president want a Supreme Court nomination to be a short-term political victory, and same-party senators strongly prefer a light lift. A Type 1 conservative is going to be much more adept than a Type 2 conservative at charming senators, trotting out a list of liberal friends and admirers, and neutralizing a leftist media—and thus at winning the support of the president and his advisers for the nomination in the first place.

Let me offer but one of several possible examples to illustrate the point. Judge Frank Easterbrook, who has served on the Seventh Circuit since 1985, has long been admired as among the most brilliant conservative jurists. When George W. Bush became president in 2001, Easterbrook was only 52 years old. When Sandra Day O’Connor retired in 2005, he was only 56. Yet he was never on Bush’s short list for the Court. Why not? Because he is a strong Type 2.

Type 1 liberals also have an advantage over Type 2 liberals, but the media bias in favor of any liberal makes that advantage much less significant. More importantly, none of the explanations of why conservative justices defect would lead to the conclusion that a Type 1 liberal is more likel
