On May 4, 2017, President Trump passed a historic executive order granting religious nonprofits the freedom to engage in political speech without fearing federal prosecution.
This portion of the order largely flew under the radar and drew little media attention. But its implications are massive: The president has ordered the federal government not to prosecute any religious organization that engages in political speech or advocacy. Its implications are massive.Tweet
Titled “Presidential Executive Order Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty,” the key segment is section 2:
[T]he Secretary of the Treasury shall ensure, to the extent permitted by law, that the Department of the Treasury does not take any adverse action against any individual, house of worship or other religious organization on the basis that such individual or organization speaks or has spoken about moral or political issues from a religious perspective, where speech of similar character has, consistent with law, not ordinarily been treated as participation or intervention in a political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) a candidate for public office by the Department of the Treasury.
In other words, faith-based nonprofits have the freedom to speak out publicly on political issues without fearing penalties, including loss of their tax-exempt status.
What are the implications for Catholics? According to Trey Trainor, chairman of the Federal Election Commission, Catholic bishops, priests, leaders and non-profits can freely speak out on moral and political issues without fear of repercussions from the federal government.
“Especially with this executive order that President Trump signed, the churches can absolutely engage in that activity now,” said Trainor. He clarified that bishops should not be using the Johnson Amendment to stay silent on candidates, or to censor their priests.
“The bishops are using their nonprofit status as a shield to hide behind from having to make a decision about who to support,” he noted. “They say we should have an informed conscience when we go to vote, but they never really take that next step and say, ‘Here’s who meets that criteria.'”The bishops are using their nonprofit status as a shield to hide behind.Tweet
“If you look at it from a purely legal perspective, the priest to bishop is still an employee-employer-type relationship, and that’s the employer telling the employee what they can or can’t do,” he explained, addressing bishops who silence priests from speaking out on politics.
“We wouldn’t tolerate that anywhere else,” he added. “I don’t think a bishop has the right to tell a priest that they can’t come out and speak.”
Johnson Amendment
President Trump’s executive order goes far in addressing inequities in the Johnson Amendment, which critics say is unconstitutional because it violates the First Amendment rights of faith-based charities.
Lyndon B. Johnson
The Johnson Amendment, named after its sponsor, Lyndon B. Johnson, was passed in 1954 and amended the tax code by granting tax-exempt status to 501(c)3 nonprofits as long as they don’t “participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.”
It’s been used as a cudgel, however, to threaten and censor politically related speech from the pulpit, causing clergy to fear that any preaching condemning the Democratic Party, e.g., for its promotion of abortion, radical gender ideology or other anti-Catholic teachings could result in federal prosecution. In fact, numerous bishops have placed gag orders on their priests not to speak out on political issues because of their fear of how the Johnson Amendment may be applied to their diocese.
But the Johnson Amendment has numerous critics.
United States Sen. John Lankford of Oklahoma and Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, for instance, have said that “this was a law written by politicians to protect politicians.” That’s because it unequally applies to faith-based charities while exempting other nonprofits.
“A college professor can say anything to his or her class about any politician, but Pastors, Imams, Priests or Rabbis are prohibited in their official duties from speaking about the same politician,” they wrote in a 2017 op-ed.
Lankford and Scalise introduced the Free Speech Fairness Act in their respective houses to remedy the unconstitutionality of the Johnson Amendment and “to prevent government intrusion and suppression of free speech by removing a restriction on speech that has existed since 1954.”The Johnson Amendment is widely seen as unconstitutional.Tweet
“The First Amendment right of free speech and right to practice any faith, or no faith, are foundational American values that must extend to everyone, whether they are a pastor, social worker, or any charity employee or volunteer,” said Lankford in 2019, when reintroducing the bill. “People who work for a nonprofit still have constitutional rights to assembly, free speech and free press.”
The Family Research Council has written, “The Johnson Amendment is an unconstitutional restraint on free speech, and is a tool the IRS uses to threaten and censor the First Amendment free speech rights of churches, charities, and their leaders.”
‘Separation of Church and State’ and the KKK
The nation was scandalized when it learnedof Justice Hugo Black’s membership in the KKK
The Johnson Amendment is based on the notion of “separation of Church and State,” a phrase that nowhere appears in the U.S. Constitution. Its enshrinement in law, however, can be laid squarely at the feet of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
As constitutional law expert Prof. Philip Hamburger established in his classic work Separation of Church and State, the phrase was first mentioned in the 1947 Supreme Court case Everson v. Board of Education — an opinion authored by Justice Hugo Black, who had been a card-carrying member of the KKK.
The KKK was well known for its anti-Catholic, anti-Jewish, anti-immigrant, anti-minority stance, and its members — including Hugo Black — embraced those biases. His biases — including his anti-Catholic animus — would manifest themselves in the case of Everson, which involved the question of federal money going towards “sectarian” schools.
As Hamburger has noted, “sectarian” was code word for “Catholic.” In the Everson case, the vast majority of the money at issue was going toward private Catholic schools.
Separation of Church and State was also a crucial part of the KKK’s agenda, and was in fact included in the Klansmen’s Creed. New members had to pledge allegiance to the “eternal separation of Church and State.”
Before joining the High Court, Black oversaw new members for the largest Klan group in the South, and was a member for two years — resigning just before he ran for Senate. Thus the phrase was familiar to him, as he himself would have taken the oath.
It was that KKK oath — pledging allegiance to the “eternal separation of Church and State” — that became enshrined in First Amendment jurisprudence, thanks to Justice Black. It was that KKK oath that became enshrined in First Amendment jurisprudence, thanks to Justice Black. Tweet
“In the words of Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect ‘a wall of separation between Church and State,'” wrote Black in his majority opinion, misquoting a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, in which he assured them their religious worship would be protected from government interference.
Instead, Black used the phrase to mean the opposite of what Jefferson intended, prohibiting religious groups from participating in government activity.
“His whole purpose in writing the decision was pushing down Catholic schools and religious schools in the country,” Trainor said, “and he’s achieved just that. We’ve taken for gospel that there has to be separation of Church and State.”
President Trump’s executive order is a significant and major step in remedying that false “gospel.”
Posted inUncategorized|Comments Off on ATTENTION ALL CATHOLIC CLERGY: On May 4, 2017, President Trump passed a historic executive order granting religious nonprofits the freedom to engage in political speech without fearing federal prosecution. THIS MEANS THAT NO BISHOP CAN STOP A PRIEST FROM EXPRESSING POLITICAL VIEWS
In ten years, when you think back to the year 2020, which name will come to mind? Maybe it will be Donald Trump or Joseph Biden. Maybe it will be George Floyd or Rayshard Brooks. For me, I’m afraid, it will be Joseph D. Rosenbaum.
A video recorded during the Kenosha protests shows Mr. Rosenbaum—a bald, angry, diminutive man—antagonizing members of a right-wing militia. “Shoot me, n**gga,” he growls. “Shoot me, n**gga.” A few hours later, he was shot by 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse.
Following his death, reporters discovered that Mr. Rosenbaum was a serial child rapist. We know that he sexually assaulted eleven boys. How many others did he violate without being caught? We can only imagine, though I don’t suggest you try.
But Mr. Rosenbaum’s is more than a cautionary tale. It’s also a symbol—a symbol of the demonic forces unleashed by revolutionary movements like Antifa and Black Lives Matter.
❧
Radical politics and sexual perversion have always gone hand in hand. Think of Nazis like Irma Grese or Soviets like Lavrentiy Beria. Revolutions give these monsters the two things they crave most: unchecked power and moral authority. They may indulge every depraved, sadistic pleasure they like. It can always be justified in the name of the Revolution.
This link between sex and death is not incidental either. It’s the very incarnation of the revolutionary spirit. Juan Donoso Cortes observed,
When God wishes to chastise a nation for its sins, He enslaves it under the dominion of voluptuous men, who, stupefied with the opium of sensual gratification, can only be aroused from their brutal insensibility by the fumes of blood…. Revolutionary France worshiped at the same time prostitution and death; while prostitution triumphed in her temples and at her altars, death was worshipped in public places and on her scaffolds.
These sadists need the Revolution, and the Revolution needs its sadists. The two exist symbiotically.
Take the obvious example of France. Robespierre once remarked that the Reign of Terror was “nothing but justice, prompt, severe, inflexible; it is thus an emanation of virtue,” which is all well and good in theory. But who’s going to inflict that terror? Who will drag the countesses and Carmelites to the guillotine? Find a man like Jean-Baptiste Carrier, who ordered the Drowning at Nantes.
Adolphe Thiers called Carrier “one of those inferior and violent spirits, who in the excitement of civil wars become monsters of cruelty and extravagance.” Yet civil war doesn’t always make monsters. Sometimes the fumes of blood simply draw them, fully formed, out from the shadows.
Still, Thiers is half right. In the course of any civil war, the Greses and the Berias, the Carriers and the Rosenbaums, will infect their comrades. The ends justify the means; that is the very definition of a revolution. And so this monster, for whom no means is too cruel or excessive, is hailed as the model partisan. His fellows stand in awe of his singular dedication to the Revolution which seems to override his very conscience. Few will realize that he hasn’t got a conscience to override. Those who do balk at such barbarism. They can only hope that it will subside once the Revolution has triumphed. But that pact with the Devil can never be undone.
❧
The Soviet Union is a perfect study in how the Revolution can become legitimized, and how anarchy itself is institutionalized. When a Yugoslav communist complained to Joseph Stalin that his Red Army had raped millions of women during their march to Berlin, he merely shrugged. “Can’t he understand it if a soldier who has crossed thousands of kilometres through blood and fire and death has fun with a woman…?” He knew that true revolutionaries do not—cannot—bow to the morals of those slaves and prisoners they seek to liberate.
Speaking of Stalin, there’s no better example of how the ethic of thuggery permeates the entire revolutionary movement. In its early years, he and his mentor Vladimir Lenin would execute bank robberies and kidnappings to finance the activities of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDLP), the precursor to the Communist Party. Any crime could be justified in the name of the Revolution, even crimes against the very proletariat they claimed to serve.
We see the same ethic at play in cities like Portland and Kenosha. The ideologues of the Black Lives Matter movement justify looting as “reparations,” even when the businesses are owned by black families. A BLM organizer named Ariel Atkins has said, “I don’t care if someone decides to loot, because that makes sure that person eats or has clothes.” Of course, the looter could get a job. But, obviously, that isn’t what Ms. Atkins means. She means that they can eat without quitting the field. They can protest by day and pillage by night. Looting allows activists to go full-time.
The Revolution doesn’t sleep.
It should be obvious by now that the “protests” in Oregon and Wisconsin have nothing to do with black lives or livelihoods. It has now become a justification for crime, a near occasion of sin—murder, theft, and rape, to name just three.
❧
No revolution can succeed without its useful idiots. When protesters erected a guillotine outside the home of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, I thought of Louis Philippe II, the Duke of Orléans.
Louis Philippe was a disciple of Rousseau, a high-ranking Freemason, and a notorious libertine. He used his position as head of a cadet branch of the royal family to promote the French Revolution. He sat in the National Assembly as a deputy for Paris, caucusing with the Jacobins. He bankrolled much of the early revolutionary activity, and his residence, the Palais Royal, became the Jacobins’ de facto headquarters. Once the French Revolution was in full swing, he shed his titles and his family name, laughably styling himself “Philippe Égalité.” He voted to execute his own cousin, King Louis XVI, who was guillotined on January 21, 1793. Less than a year later, on November 6, Monsieur Égalité met the same fate.
Mr. Bezos, a longtime donor to progressive causes, quickly aligned his company with the Black Lives Matter movement. In June, Amazon gave tens of millions of dollars to a number of “anti-racist” organizations, including Black Lives Matter, Inc. He later published a snarky post on Instagram, saying he was “happy to lose” customers over his support for the left-wing insurrectionists.
Now protesters have erected a guillotine outside Mr. Bezos’s mansion in Washington, D.C. They say his vocal support for Black Lives Matter doesn’t excuse the fact that he shortchanges his employees. The protest’s organizer, a former Amazon employee named Chris Smalls, asked the crowd: “Give a good reason why we don’t deserve a $30 minimum wage when this man makes $4,000 a second.”
Historians can’t decide whether the Duke of Orléans was a fool or a coward. Was he stupid enough to believe his fellow regicides would spare a Prince of the Blood? Or was he simply hoping to appease the revolutionaries by throwing his poor cousin under the bus? I’m sure the same will be said of men like Mr. Bezos.
Of course, we pray that no harm befalls him. Yet our oligarchs have bankrolled these radicals for decades. “Woke capitalism” is the engine driving the Revolution in this country. If they think the new sans-culottes will show them gratitude and mercy, they’ll have earned their fate—just as Philippe Égalité earned his.
❧
“How monotonously alike all the great tyrants and conquerors have been,” C. S. Lewis noted, and “how gloriously different are the saints.” The tyrants-in-training of BLM and Antifa are of a piece with the Bolsheviks, the Nazis, and the Jacobins. Their animus towards white, heterosexual men isn’t meaningfully different from Hitler’s hatred of Jews and gypsies. Their contempt for the wealthy is virtually indistinguishable from Lenin’s or Stalin’s. Their hatred of all things wholesome and sacred is strikingly like Robespierre’s.
The difference is that Hitler and Lenin and Robespierre had the chance to act on their hatred. BLM and Antifa haven’t—at least, not yet. And they all trace their lineage back to one especially bright angel who decided that it was better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven.
Here we come to the heart of the matter. Revolution is demonic because demons were the first revolutionaries. In Paradise Lost, John Milton gave the name “Pandemonium” to Satan’s capital. It means “all-demon-place,” and that’s precisely what the Revolution produces. Once the old order has been destroyed and man’s base passions have been unleashed, they can’t be contained again. Our existence becomes a continual offering of innocent life to these monsters.
This is always the way with revolutions. When the RSDLP’s Menshevik faction voted to pursue a more peaceful path to power, they expelled the extremist Bolsheviks from the party. We know how that story ends. Like the Duke of Orléans, the Mensheviks thought they could achieve a moderate revolution. They tore down a dam to water their garden and were shocked when their house was swept away.
So it goes. Radical ideologues empower men the depths of whose evil they themselves cannot begin to fathom. They’re like schoolgirls who play with Ouija boards, never suspecting there might really be demons lurking within—not, of course, until they meet them face to face.
❧
Reflecting on the horrors of Revolution, which had ravaged his own beloved country, François-René de Chateaubriand declared: “No, I shall never believe that I write upon the tomb of France. I cannot be persuaded that the day of mercy will not follow the day of vengeance.” Yet he also made clear that revolution is not something external to us, but that, like sin, it’s a consequence of our own decisions:
A revolution, prepared by our moral corruption and errors, breaks out in our midst. In the name of the law, we overturned religion and morality; we renounced experience and the customs of our fathers; we defiled the tombs of our ancestors, the only solid basis for any government, to found upon uncertain reason a society with neither past nor future.
This has been the condition of Western man for the better part of five centuries. How do we break this cycle? Only by an act of perfect contrition—a mass reversion of the West to the Catholic and apostolic faith—can we end this permanent revolution. Only by taking arms with Saint Michael, beneath the banner of the Sacred Heart, may we throw off the rule of Pandemonium.
We have been conservatives for too long. We’ve been content merely to mitigate the effects of revolution. Now, we must become reactionaries. We must rebuild Christendom, not merely curate the ruins. What we need now is a counter-revolution—“the opposite of a revolution,” as Maistre said.
Christ the King must reign once again over all things spiritual and temporal. We must confess the unconditional sovereignty of God over His creation.
But we must begin with a radical conversion of ourselves to the Christian faith. The law of love must reign in our own hearts before it can rule in the world. We must be true prayer warriors, the shock troops of spiritual combat—perfectly disciplined in mind, body, and spirit.
Never doubt for a moment that we are the cause of this revolution, no less than Antifa or Black Lives Matter. Our disobedience empowers the demons of Revolution just as much as theirs, perhaps even more so.
Remember, if you’re not on the side of the angels, you’re under the thrall of demons. There is no DMZ.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

I don’t know where we are on the arc of history. I don’t know if all is lost.
I don’t know if Michael Anton is right – that there is a Coming Coup. His case is strong and bolstered by The American Spectator’s own George Parry who believes that delayed mail-in ballots, many “found” after a Trump landslide, will throw the country into a crisis and possibly civil war. You can watch my interview with George here.
What I do know is that there have been many times is history where the decisions of one person stemmed the tide of evil. I know that one small person of courage can make a big difference. Vasily Archipov, Norman Borlaug, Nelson Mandela are examples of courage; the courage to question, to create, to reconcile.
The Left is fond of saying that “Love Trumps Hate” and they’re not wrong. It’s just a shame that so much of their “love” includes violence, destruction, burning, rage, and murder. If they believed their own words, they would act differently, and their message could result in more of the change they’d like to see. As it is, they’re evaporating good will with every brick and punch thrown. They are bending the arc of history away from themselves.
The Left is lost.
Have you ever seen such a sad rabble? Confused, lonely, weird, alienated, warped, deviant, criminal. The dispossessed. Only love can heal these wounds. Only a Power greater than their vast chasm of emptiness can fill them.
Three times I’ve seen a man who was eventually shot screaming into another person’s face or calmly looking into the camera taunting, begging to be killed…to have his life matter for something even a pathetic lost, in every sense of the word, cause. All three times, the death came within minutes, hours, a day.
These people believed a lie: that they have nothing to lose. They believed that there is no hope of redemption for them; therefore there’s no redemption for anyone. They believe that they were beyond salvation and so, they’d take the world with them. Suicide is an evil. There is always hope.
Too many in our country lay on the streets, drugged, debauched. It is shameful. Too few help them. Too many pay too much in taxes and their hearts harden at the need they see. Let the government take care of them. But the government is woefully inadequate to the task of healing a broken spirit.
So what must we do?
We must find our courage and keep doing. We must create, plan, build, restore, protect, defend, heal, feed, clothe, repent, reconcile, save. We must remember that all men are create equal. We must build our own lives and we must help those who do not believe in their own ability to begin again. Above all, we must have charity. And when we don’t know what to do, we must pray.2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
It follows as a dark night the day that if it is true reality that a human being is a thing, then it is not immoral, and perhaps, under the right circumstances, even virtuous to sell the ‘thing,’ or parts of the ‘thing.’
Harriet Beecher Stowe’s books, published before the Civil War, presented the evil of the sale of slaves, “slave things,” entire living human beings, as mere property. Today unborn children, whom many call “pregnancy things,” are sold, either their entire bodies or parts and organs harvested from them, living or dead.
Slaves were mere property and their entire bodies, with all their bones, limbs, and organs, were their owner’s property. Many slaves themselves did not consider that they ‘owned’ their own bodies and the parts of their bodies. Mrs. Stowe quotes from one slave’s personal account of his escape to Canada. This included his statement of the belief of many slaves regarding their bodies, a belief that one’s body was ‘not my body, not myself’:
At daylight we were in Canada. When I stepped ashore here, I said, Sure enough I AM FREE. Good Heavens! what a sensation, when it first visits the bosoms of a full-grown man; one born to bondage; one who had been taught from early infancy that this was his inevitable lot for life! Not till then did I dare to cherish for a moment the feeling that one of the limbs of my body was my own. The slaves often say, when cut in the hand or foot, “Plague on the old foot,” or “the old hand! It is master’s, let him take care of it; n____r don’t care if he never get well.” My hands, my feet were now my own”(Key, p. 16).
From the time before the Civil War, regular advertisements in many publications and periodicals made clear that slaves were, to many, simply things to be bought and sold, not unique human beings with freedoms and rights, entitled to be treated as persons before the law and valued as God’s men and women, boys and girls, babies and infants. Slaves were not included in or protected by a societal morality according to which each human being has innate, unalienable value, endowed by their Creator, and each member of such a society valuing all others. Excerpts of some of these advertisements from Mrs. Stowe’s Key follow.

Human Things Bought & Sold in Aunt Thommie’s Cabin
Aunt Thommie’s Cabin, [“Thommie,” a book published by this author] depicts the present-day commercialization of the sale of the bodies of unborn babies and the marketing of their body parts and organs. One situation presented in the book is the attempted sale by abortion business executives of the heroine’s unborn twins who are Down Syndrome babies:
Is she scheduled yet? We’ve got to do some checking, some verification, time value of money, time value of third trimester organ and brain development. Doesn’t it make sense the longer we wait, the higher the price? Remember our tissue-versus-organ graphs, tissue/organ value differentials and all that. For organs, they must be alive. Has she signed in, signed all the papers, the contracts? (Thommie, p. 18).
This is not a prime several-thousand dollar brain, or some highest grade $4500 kidneys. Not any $6000 eyes. Not even a $20,000 whole thri-tri body. We are going to approach all the biggies, all the genetic and biochemical research companies . . . (Thommie, p. 22).
Thommie presents a fictional story, but the sale, today, of the entire bodies of unborn babies is not fiction. Very late term abortions are done regularly, for the “health” of the women who own the pregnancy things. As presented in Thommie, “selling them alive” is fiction, but such sales would not violate the stated pro-death logic of the democrat party and the other abortionarians.
The longer we wait, the higher the price. Law says the moment before birth. Actually even during birth. Yes, I know the website says first trimester, up to three months, but we all know about a woman’s ‘health.’ For years this has been the loophole that lets us do the late termers. “Health’ includes mental health and all that. Worried about anything, that’s mental health. It’s because of this ‘mental health’ that we are so profitable. We’ve done thri-tri’s right here before, even late in the third. And there has been some talk about selling them alive.”
Leona gasped. “No way!”
“Yes way,” said Simone. “They are ours by contract already. And moments before delivery and moments after delivery really makes no difference – except in dollars. It’s like the real estate business, property, location, location, location. And you know we will keep them comfortable,” Simone said, laughing (Thommie, p. 25).
Babies For Sale: Bodies, Parts & Organs
Today abortion businesses in America sell the entire bodies of unborn children and their parts and organs for profit. This is not science fiction or the script for a horror movie.
This is a fact.
Before the democrats took control of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016, a House special House panel investigated the transfer of tissue from aborted babies. The Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives began its work on Oct. 7, 2015, after the House passed a resolution for a full and complete investigation regarding the practices of abortion businesses and the practices of procurement organizations that sell bodies, tissue, parts, and organs of unborn children.
During its work, the Panel received evidence that a researcher paid a middleman procurement company $3,340 for a fetal brain, $595 for a “baby skull matched to upper and lower limbs,” and $890 for “upper and lower limbs with hands and feet.” The “middleman” businesses are entities that obtain the body parts, organs, and tissue from children killed at abortuarian business locations and sell them to companies, entities, organizations and research institutions. One middleman entity, for one single year, received $42,535 for 38 brains of unborn children, 12 hearts, three upper/lower limbs, five livers, and 12 pancreases.
Primarily as a result of court-compelled discovery in lawsuits by the state of California and by Planned Parenthood against courageous pro-life investigators Sandra Merritt and David Daleiden, and the Center For Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood has been forced to reveal documents and information that expose details of its ongoing commercial body, body parts and organs business, many of which had been previously denied by Planned Parenthood, its democrat supporters, and by the complicit pro-death media.
Actual videos, now available publicly, of Planned Parenthood executives and employees are unbelievable in their calm horror and matter-of-fact ‘just business’ evil. It is no wonder that, to date, Planned Parenthood, has attempted to have the videos and information kept from the public. This is like what happened in many places where Mrs. Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin and A Key To Uncle Tom’s Cabin were officially or unofficially banned before the Civil War.
Abortion Reich Today
Unbelievably, those involved in today’s abortion businesses are more brutal, more demonic, and more barbaric than those who ran and staffed the Nazi concentration camp businesses in Germany before and during World War II. One commentator has made the point that what is done today by Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses, their abortionists, their nurses, and their executives and employees is worse than the action of Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele, the fiendish ‘Angel of Death’ of the Jewish holocaust. (“Abortionists Not at All Like Mengele and Death Camp Doctors,” Randall Burgess, Food In God’s Place, April 9, 2013).
The unsurpassed evil of national and local pro-death abortion groups, Planned Parenthood, its abortionists and nurses, staff, executives, and employees, even as compared to the Nazis, and their crimes against humanity, is discussed in a previous article, by the present author, quoted below. While reading what follows, the reader should try to keep in mind the one million or so unborn children Planned Parenthood harvests every three years in America. Planned Parenthood long ago exceeded the estimated total death count of 12,000,000 attributed to the National Socialists, the Nazis.
When you learn that on an average day Auschwitz personnel removed about 18 pounds of gold from the teeth of gassed Jews, you will realize that cleansing the population of Margaret Sanger’s “human undergrowth” was one thing, and making money off the dead was another; that “follow the money” explains the alleged lofty humanitarian goals of Planned Parenthood in not crushing an unborn child’s heart and liver; and that the women of Planned Parenthood, today’s Bloody Beasts of Planned Parenthood, take death dealing, genocide and crimes against humanity to a whole new level of consummate evil. (reprinted from, “Bloody Richards, Hyena Grese, Hillary The Beast, Pelosi The Butcher, Monster Gatter, Nucatola Mengele, and Koch The Bitch,” Guy McClung).
The business profits of Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses in America exceed by degrees of magnitude the gross product revenues of the entire Nazi death camp industry. Once a society accepts that whatever “it” is that is within a mother is a mere thing, merely her property and hers alone, then there can be no rejection of her right to sell her property and no condemnation of the entities engaged in such business.

There was one day long ago, when a man could dream of a better world, a vision of a better life built on one’s own ability to pull himself up by his bootstraps, strive for a better life that relied on his own strong character. To do that, he had to overcome the existing power over the mind of man, the tyranny of rule by dictatorship. It took centuries to gain the tools that led to democracy. The Rights of Englishmen and the Magna Carta gradually led to the American Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and the world watched the United States become the wealthiest and most educated nation of the world.
We were governed by a republican form of government under a two-party system, everyone was encouraged to participate, and our ability to compromise at our nation’s capital only made us stronger.Under the leadership of President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society, the Democratic Party laid the foundation for a stronger socialistic government that led our country toward a spiraling national debt that has eaten away our ability to maintain financial security. Their attempts at social programming destroyed the family unit in the Black Community and tended to be contrary to Christian beliefs, and their political policies created reverse discrimination toward races and genders. These were signs of a broken government.
Gradually, as the numbers of followers of the Democratic party declined, they sought to maintain power by creating a coalition of minorities, gays, anti-Christian sects, anti-government factions such as anarchists and socialists who carry the banner of Black Lives Matter, antifa and illegal immigrants.
Now our cities are on fire and a great civil war is brewing, to decide whether we will live under the form of democracy that our forefathers created and generations of soldiers sacrificed their lives to preserve, or whether we will revert to the tyranny of dictatorship. Police have been shot and beaten, cities are being burnt, governors appear inert and sit idly by as they watch it happen, and have not maintained law and order. The national media seems to be at the head of the prow showing no entreaty that differentiates between right and wrong, good or bad,; they crave to throw more fuel on the fire.
This political struggle was already on the table before President Donald Trump was elected, and the Democrats promised to impeach him as soon as he took office and they kept their promise. Now, having failed to convict him, they are threatening American citizens with consequences if Trump is re-elected. If they can burn cities and get away with it, how safe will you be as a conservative when they take over the White House and control of the military? No safer than the German citizens were when Adolf Hitler took control of Germany.
Bottom line, if you don’t have the courage to stand up now, it will be too late once they take over The White House, United States Capital, and Supreme Court. Blood will flow no matter who wins the presidency in November, but, if the socialists win, a new national anthem will be played at football games, with different words, and your votes in the future won’t be worth the paper you write on, because you didn’t have the same audacity as your enemies.

Fall is almost here in California. So we know the annual script. A few ostracized voices will again warn in vain of the need to remove millions of dead trees withered from the 2013–14 drought and subsequent infestations, clean up tinderbox hillsides, and beef up the fire services. They will all be ignored as right-wing nuts or worse.Environmentalists will sneer that the new forestry sees fires as medicinal and natural, and global warming as inevitable because of “climate deniers.”
Late-summer fires will then consume our foothills, mountains, and forests. Long-dead trees from the drought will explode and send their pitch bombs to shower the forest with flames.
Lives, livelihoods, homes, and cabins will be lost — the lamentable collateral damage of our green future. Billions of dollars will go up in smoke. The billowing haze and ash will cloud and pollute the state for weeks if not months. Tens of thousands will be evacuated and their lives disrupted — and those are the lucky.
California’s deer-in-the headlight progressive officials will blame “climate change” for the conflagrations. The accompanying power brownouts, tardy responses, and official blame-gaming will follow as a prelude for still more solar-panel farms and still less forest management.
There could be a long answer to explain why California for years abandoned dead drought- and insect-stricken trees — over some 60 million of these withered, towering time bombs in their coastal and Sierra forests — to rot. But the short of it was that the kindling and tinderboxes were seen as perfect green mulch for flora and fauna.
A cynical interpretation of the eco-agenda was that doing nothing to clean up the mess was cheap for a broke state eager to spend billions on high-speed rail and the consequences of open borders. The even more cynical take would be that dead trees served as green napalm during fire season to discourage the unwanted hoi polloi from living in the hill and mountain cabins that in a more perfect world would properly belong, in Sheriff of Nottingham style, to the Sierra Club.
And indeed, the unspoken aftermath of this latest round of conflagrations is that insurance rates will soar even higher and make it nearly impossible to live in rural hills and mountains.
Apparently, our ancestral, Neanderthal foresters once upon a time believed in the time-tried lore of removing dead brush, cutting down withered trees for needed lumber, and allowing grazing to clear foothills of dead grasses and low vegetation. But then again, the old-breed thinking has been seen as obsolete by today’s brilliant new progressive consultants, professors, and activists. They were too eager to implement a natural strategy of letting medicinal fires periodically burn forest fuel to remind us that millions of trees are not for living among, or logging or recreating amid, or for anything much human-orientated other than a week or so a year backpacking.
California is shutting down both clean-burning natural-gas plants and nuclear generation, only to find that its heralded wind and solar plants do not produce enough power in times of high heat, smoke, and fire, at night or during the day, just when the heat of the dog days forces millions to ramp up their air-conditioners.
There could be a longer answer for why — when California is faced with existential threats of soaring taxes, the exoduses of its best and brightest citizens, crashing services, and biblical heat, smoke, plague, and fire— its officials obsess over reparations, raising property taxes, implementing a socialist “you didn’t build that” wealth tax, and jacking up top income-tax rates over 16 percent.
The more money the state gets, the more the services degenerate, and the more it needs. And because it has no answer for the existential crisis of millions of impoverished recent illegal immigrants (20 percent of the state lives below the poverty line, a third of the nation’s poor live in California), soaring Medical-subsidized health costs, unsustainable pensions, the largest homeless population in the nation, and hare-brained schemes like its fossilized high-speed-rail project, in expiation it seeks postmodern escapes from premodern threats.
Can’t prevent biblical fires? Then turn to reparations or a wealth tax. Can’t afford fixing decrepit freeways? Then dream on, with half-finished high-speed-rail overpasses.
Solar panels fail the grid? Then why not ban more nuclear plants?
Over the past 40 years, a small coastal cadre became the nexus of trillions of dollars in global income from high tech, computers, finance, tony universities, and Hollywood. As the middle class fled the new Hell of California, the poor of Mexico and Latin America discovered that what others called a wrecked state, broke from soaring social services and state pensions, nevertheless seemed to be heaven on earth compared with Oaxaca or El Salvador.
So the rich got really rich, the poor came in and got a little less poor, and the middle fled either out of state or to the Sierra and coastal foothills that are now aflame. So California’s destruction can be summed up in the hypocrisies and paradoxes of its bankrupt elite, who believe that their money insulates them from their own toxic ideology, and their virtue-signaling squares the circle of feeling guilty that they want nothing to do with the millions of poor they invited in and are relieved that they drove out millions in the middle classes.
Governor Gavin Newsom not long ago ordered shutdowns of non–Napa Valley wine-tasting rooms — the winery he owns conveniently being located in Napa and thus escaping the lockdown orders. A hyper-capitalist made rich by his inherited “white privilege,” he brags that the virus will provide the necessary fear and confusion to allow “opportunity for reimagining a [more] progressive era as it pertains to capitalism.”
Newsom certainly in his own case “reimagines” capitalism. For example, recently, the redistributionist governor was delinquent in paying thousands of dollars in back property and gift taxes, largely because even his sizable income and capital have never been sufficient to support his Bay Area lifestyle. So his rich friends and distant family struggle to fund trusts and foundations by which to funnel tax-free money to meet his considerable needs.
Newsom seems bewildered about the source of his ample cash flow and so apparently should not pay his own state what he owes it. In other words, it would be impossible for such a sort to feel any real empathy for those who were destroyed by the policies he implements and whose ramifications he avoids.
One can anticipate Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s next move because, beneath her self-righteousness, she will predictably be silly, often cruel, and entirely hypocritical. She may be the only House speaker in history to publicly tear up the president’s State of the Union address, after he customarily handed it to her on live television. She worries whether we are Christian enough in welcoming illegal aliens and sacrificing during the quarantine, while she shows off her designer ice cream in her designer Sub-Zero refrigerators in her designer wine-country palazzo — surrounded by the sort of “decorative” fences and “modest” gates we are assured are not walls to keep out those who, she lectures us, are California’s blessed future.
Pelosi rails about the need for masks. She banters about the struggle to social distance. She lauds the requirement to shut down the businesses of the nobodies (at least until the November election is over). And then, like a teen prankster, she sneaks into a salon, unmasked, scurries about to get her hair done at a business she wants closed. And yet we wonder whether she worries about the effects of fires, insolvency, crushing taxes, and illegal immigration upon others in her state.
Diane Feinstein occasionally offers embarrassing panegyrics to the Chinese ascendency, often in response to others wishing to curb Beijing’s mercantilism, dumping, currency manipulation, patent and copyright theft, technological appropriation, and its eerie mesmerizing of America’s wealthiest classes with joint ventures. She is a Chinese encomiast because she has never herself lost a job to outsourcing. She seems oblivious that the Chinese Communist Party was allowing direct flights into nearby SFO from Wuhan, ground zero of the virus, whose origins and nature China so long lied about, while banning travel from Wuhan to anywhere inside China.
No matter, Diane Feinstein’s husband is a billionaire financier, in part from substantial Chinese investments, despite the “fire wall” that, she claims, separates every married couple’s finances. In the age of the Russian-collusion hoax and a pesky Russian under every government bed, no one in the CIA or FBI seemed to worry much when Feinstein’s loyal chauffeur of some 20 years proved to be a Chinese Communist spy and informant. Had not every prior chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee from time to time chatted on the phone in front of a spy?
How long can a state suffer the rich Bourbons of the Bay Area?
As long as its brave nobodies still drive ’dozers right into conflagrations to create lifesaving fire breaks, as long as its despised farmers continue to serve as the nation’s food basket, as long as unheralded pilots fly blind into smoke to drop fire retardant, and as long as there is something left for the parasitical elite of the rich inheritance from California’s brilliant and industrious but now long-dead past.

What we know of Our Lady of Fatima’s ‘3rd secret’ appears to be unfolding in Church today: priest
The Third Secret given to Sister Lucia predicted, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the topSat Aug 15, 2020 – 11:01 pm EST
SHUTTERSTOCK.COM
August 15, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – Father Frank Unterhalt, a German diocesan priest and speaker of a group of faithful priests called Communio veritatis, has written an article about the current crisis in the Catholic Church and linking it back to the message of Our Lady of Fatima. He quotes Cardinal Ciappi, a theologian of the Papal House from 1955 to 1989, who stated in 1995: “In the Third Secret it is predicted, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top.”
In his statement (see full text below), Father Unterhalt of the Archdiocese of Paderborn sums up different aspects that help us to see that the Church has been infiltrated for quite some time now by anti-Catholic forces. Here, he quotes the former Communist Bella Dodd who admitted to having helped infiltrate the Church in the U.S. with some 1,100 communist priests, and he also refers back to the Freemasonic instruction “Alta Vendita” which aimed at receiving “a pope according to our needs.”
Father Unterhalt also quotes George Weigel who, after studying the communist archives, described in 2011 “how the communist governments and secret services infiltrated the Vatican and used diplomatic relations with the Holy See to promote their interests – as one might expect – and to strengthen their efforts to penetrate the highest levels of the Catholic Church’s leadership, especially the Vatican itself – an approach that many high-ranking dignitaries in the Vatican apparently did not see through.”
The German priest also reminds us that it was already Father Maximilian Kolbe, who in 1917 witnessed an appearance of Freemasons in Rome holding up a flag with the words “Satan shall reign in the Vatican, and the Pope shall be his slave.”
It was Pope Benedict XVI who announced in 2010 that the Third Secret of Fatima is about the fact that “the greatest persecution of the Church comes not from her enemies without, but arises from sin within the Church.”
Here, we might also be reminded of the fact that, as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, he had said that Freemasonry was the greatest danger for the Church.SUBSCRIBEto LifeSite’s daily headlinesSUBSCRIBEU.S. Canada World Catholic

Father Unterhalt does not mention the ongoing debate as to whether or not Rome has even fully published all the words of Sister Lucia of Fatima relating to the Third Secret, a discussion that is kept alive since the official publication of the Third Secret in Rome in June of 2000. In any event, the words of Cardinal Ciappi about an apostasy at the top of the Church as quoted by Father Unterhalt are not contained in the officially published Third Secret. It is to be hoped that future research will give us further light in this matter.
For example, Cardinal Silvio Oddi, who had been the secretary of Archbishop Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli – later Pope John XXIII – during the time the latter served as the apostolic nuncio in Paris, stated in 1990 in an interview about the Third Secret: “I would not be surprised if the Third Secret alluded to dark times for the Church: grave confusions and troubling apostasies within Catholicism itself … If we consider the grave crisis we have lived through since the [Second Vatican] Council, the signs that this prophecy has been fulfilled do not seem to be lacking.”
Father Unterhalt also reminds us that both the Book of Revelation and the Catechism of the Catholic Church speak to us about the loss of Faith at the end of times and of the final trials of the Church. Here he quotes the catechism as saying: “Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the ‘mystery of iniquity’ in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.”
Father Unterhalt has been making strong statements in the last years that are pertaining to the preservation of the Catholic Faith. He and his priestly group Communio veritatisopposed, for example, the idea of intercommunion with Protestants; he publicly rebuked the head of the German bishops, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, for adapting the Catholic Church to the zeitgeist; and he condemned the practice of receiving Holy Communion in the hand while standing. Unterhalt also rejected Pope Francis’ new rule of giving Holy Communion to adulterers. Finally, he encouraged us to remain close to Our Lady, saying that “Many faithful are asking themselves today how one can withstand the current storm of the great test and remain in the true Faith. I would like to answer that with the famous words of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima: ‘My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way which leads you to God!’”

The Church lives through the Third Secret of Fatima
It is high time to understand the full meaning of the prophetic announcement made by Cardinal Wojtyła at the 1976 Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia: “We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. I do not think that the wide circle of the American Society, or the whole wide circle of the Christian Community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the Gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist. The confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is, therefore, in God’s Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church must take up, and face courageously…”[1]
It is important to realize the full dimension of this dramatic appeal! Above all, one must consider what an anti-church needs at its head. In this sense, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen affirmed: “There will be a mystical Body of the antichrist, which will resemble in all its externals the Mystical Body of Christ.”[2]
During his visit to Germany in 1980, Pope John Paul II, when asked in Fulda how things were going with the Church in relation to the Third Secret of Fatima, replied with the following words: “We must prepare ourselves for great trials in the near future. Yes, they may even require giving our lives, and total dedication to Christ and for Christ! It can be softened by your and our prayer, but it cannot be averted. Only in this way can the true renewal of the Church arrive. How often has the renewal of the Church been born from blood. It will not be any different this time. Let us be strong and let us prepare and trust in Christ and His Holy Mother! Let us pray the Rosary very much and often!”[3]
Shortly after, this turned real for him. On May 13, 1981, the anniversary of the first apparition of the Blessed Virgin and Mother of God Mary in Fatima in 1917, the assassination attempt took place in Rome. Here the whole trial of which he spoke became visible in a dramatic picture. The direct attack against the Holy Father was not only directed at him, but at the entire Mystical Body of Christ on earth. According to the teaching of St. Augustine, the Pope is the “figura ecclesiae” and represents the whole Church.[4] Against this background, she must understand that she is in the midst of an apocalyptic struggle in which everything is at stake. This becomes even clearer when we consider the exact circumstances of the assassination attempt: The five shots were fired at 17:17.
On the one hand, this unmistakably points to the year in which Freemasonry was founded, 1717. St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe witnessed their demonstration on St. Peter’s Square in Rome in 1917. The Apostle of the Immaculata read the professed plan of the Freemasons on the relevant flag: “Satan shall reign in the Vatican, and the Pope shall be his slave.”[5]
On the other hand, in the same year 1917, the October Revolution occurred in Russia with the manifestation of atheist communism and the connected decisive struggle.
In these contexts, the attack on the head of the Catholic Church shows the hostile attempt to overcome her completely. The aim of the attack in Rome was obviously to remove the God-given foundation of the Church in order to replace it with another “leadership.”
Of course, this plan did not end with the assassination attempt, which failed from the enemy’s point of view – to the contrary. Enlightening in this context is a letter of Sister Lucia to the Holy Father of May 12, 1982(!), in which she referred to the third part of the Secret: “Since we did not heed this appeal of the Message, we see that it has been fulfilled, Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not yet seen the complete fulfilment of the final part of this prophecy, we are going towards it little by little with great strides.”[6]
The theologian and writer Prof. Dr. George Weigel has analyzed the archives of the communist fight against Karol Wojtyła and Pope John Paul II, and has described the pertinent campaign as follows: “This material illustrates how the communist governments and secret services infiltrated the Vatican and used diplomatic relations with the Holy See to promote their interests – as one might expect – and to strengthen their efforts to penetrate the highest levels of the Catholic Church’s leadership, especially the Vatican itself – an approach that many high-ranking dignitaries in the Vatican apparently did not see through.”[7]
The shocking confession of the well-known Dr. Bella Dodd, a high-ranking member of the Communist Party in the USA, opens our eyes in a special way to the historical background. After her conversion to the Catholic faith, the former activist gave sworn testimony about the deliberate infiltration of the Church. According to her own testimony, she followed an order by Stalin at the time, which was issued to all Communist Party organizations to have agents without faith and morals infiltrate Catholic seminaries and religious orders.[8]
This plan from Moscow was implemented extremely effectively – right down to the Vatican. In the 1950s, she explained: “In the 1930s we put 1100 men into the priesthood in order to destroy the Church from within, right now they are in the highest places in the Church.”[9]
Dr. Bella Dodd left no doubt about the drastic consequences: “You will not recognize the Catholic Church.”[10]
The philosopher Prof. Dr. Dietrich von Hildebrand provides us with a profound analysis which clearly shows that the decisive battle is not outside but inside the Church herself: “An unprejudiced look at the present devastation of the Lord’s vineyard cannot overlook the fact that a ‘fifth column’ has formed in the Church (it is also called a mafia by some, even on the Church side), a group of purposeful destroyers of the Church. […] Their systematic and refined undermining of Holy Mother Church also bears clear enough witness to the fact that this is a deliberate conspiracy on the hand of the Freemasons and the Communists, who – despite their differences and other enmities – work together for this goal. For Freemasonry, the Church is the arch-enemy, and for the Communists the main obstacle to the conquest of the world. […] But the incomprehensible thing is that this conspiracy exists within the Church, that there are bishops and even cardinals, and above all priests and religious who are a kind of Judas.”[11]
Bishop Dr. Rudolf Graber has dealt with the goal of the hostile strategy. He quotes the so-called “Alta Vendita” – the Masonic plan for revolution within the Catholic Church. In it, it says: “What we demand, what we look for and have to await – just as the Jews await their Messiah – is a Pope according to our needs […] We do not doubt our reaching this highest goal of our efforts.”[12]
In this context the famous word formulated by Cardinal Ciappi is of particular importance. He was an expert on the Third Secret of Fatima and theologian of the Papal House from 1955 to 1989. In a letter to Prof. Baumgartner from Salzburg in 1995, he wrote: “In the Third Secret it is predicted, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top.”[13]
A look into the Book of Revelation makes this clear.
The fire-red dragon (cf. Rev 12:3) represents atheistic communism, which seeks to destroy faith in God. In this battle two beasts come to the aid of the dragon, who shows himself to have powerful strength.
The black beast, which resembles a panther (cf. Rev 13:1-2), is Freemasonry. It acts in the background and hides itself in the shadows to be able to penetrate everywhere unrecognized. The throne and power of the dragon have been given to him (cf. Rev 13:2).
The other beast is ecclesial Freemasonry: “He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon” (Rev 13:11). This is a reference to the hierarchy of the Church, in which the mitre – with two horns – indicates the fullness of the priesthood. The beast that comes up out of the earth looks like a servant of Christ the Lamb, but is a servant of Satan the dragon.
The False Prophet (cf. Rev 19:20) is the pseudo-religious leader of the anti-church and drives apostasy from the top. He deceives and betrays the inhabitants of the earth (cf. Rev 13:14) and wants to lead people to worship the antichrist (cf. Rev 13:12), of whom he is the forerunner.
A direct reference to the Third Secret of Fatima is also found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church: “Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the ‘mystery of iniquity’ in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.”[14]
The Paschal Mystery of Christ is thus intensely renewed in his Mystical Body. The Church will follow her Lord in his death and resurrection.[15]
This is why Pope Benedict XVI, as a pilgrim on the road to Fatima in May 2010, explained the Third Secret: “Consequently, I would say that, here too, beyond this great vision of the suffering of the Pope, […] an indication is given of realities involving the future of the Church, which are gradually taking shape and becoming evident. So it is true that, in addition to moment indicated in the vision, there is mention of, there is seen, the need for a passion of the Church, which naturally is reflected in the person of the Pope, yet the Pope stands for the Church and thus it is sufferings of the Church that are announced. […]
As for the new things which we can find in this message today, there is also the fact that attacks on the Pope and the Church come not only from without, but the sufferings of the Church come precisely from within the Church, from the sin existing within the Church. This too is something that we have always known, but today we are seeing it in a really terrifying way: that the greatest persecution of the Church comes not from her enemies without, but arises from sin within the Church”.[16]
So, during this time, she experiences in everything the passion of Jesus and the abysmal iniquity of the betrayal.
Christ made the servant of the true Mercy, St. Sister Faustina, experience all the bitterness of the Church’s agony of Gethsemane. She wrote in her diary: “On that day I suffered more than at any other time, inwardly and outwardly. I did not know that one can suffer so much in a single day.” The most terrible dimension of Gethsemane is the appearance of the traitor. St. Sister Faustina noted the date of this worst day of suffering. It was December 17, 1936.

Is there a Canonical Way to Have a Catholic Church With a Catholic Pope?
“Some… argue that the dubia and other criticisms of Amoris Laetitia that have been made already suffice as warnings to Pope Francis, and hence that he can now be judged to be guilty of the canonical crime of heresy…”
But for juridical purposes – especially for the very serious purpose of judging a Pope to be a heretic – they do not suffice. The evidence needed for a juridical judgment of such gravity has to take a form that is entirely clear and beyond dispute. A formal warning from a number of members of the College of Cardinals that is then disregarded by the Pope would constitute such evidence.”
“The possibility of a Pope being canonically guilty of heresy has long been admitted in the Church. It is acknowledged in the Decretals of Gratian There is no dispute among Catholic theologians on this point – even among theologians like Bellarmine who do not think that a Pope is in fact capable of being a heretic…”
“It is to be hoped that the correction of Pope Francis does not have to proceed this far, and that he will either reject the heresies he has announced or resign his office…”
“Removing him from office against his will would require the election of a new Pope, and would probably leave the Church with Francis as an anti-Pope contesting the authority of the new Pope. If Francis refuses to renounce either his heresy or his office, however, this situation will just have to be faced.” – Dr. John R. T. Lamont, Catholic theologian
Last year, the former highest doctrinal authority in the Church, ex-Prefect of the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Gerhard Muller apparently admitted that Francis could be an antipope.
Remember that only an antipope when he speaks “ex cathedra” can speak what is “invalid” because the false pope’s papacy is invalid.
LifeSiteNews reported that Cardinal Muller said:
“‘[I]f he [Francis] spoke ex cathedra… make[ing] possible the ordination of women… in contradiction to the defined doctrine of the Church,’ he continues”
“‘It would be invalid,’ he adds.” (LifeSiteNews, “Cardinal Muller: No pope or council could permit female deacons, ‘it would be invalid,” Friday July 26, 2019)
Steven O’Reilly at Roma Locuta Est who always bends over backward to be fair and cover all angles showed the Vatican I background to the Muller statement. Moreover, he added that it could, also, mean Francis is a heretical pope:
“However, as Catholics well know, this poses an obvious difficulty. Vatican I defined the dogma of papal infallibility in the following terms (emphasis added):
‘…the Roman Pontiff, when he speaks ex cathedra, that is, when carrying out the duty of the pastor and teacher of all Christians in accord with his supreme apostolic authority he explains a doctrine of faith or morals to be held by the universal Church, through the divine assistance promised him in blessed Peter, operates with that infallibility with which the divine Redeemer wished that his church be instructed in defining doctrine on faith and morals; and so such definitions of the Roman Pontiff from himself, but not from the consensus of the Church, are unalterable.’ (Pastor Aeternus cited in Fundamentals of Catholic Doctrine, Denzinger, 1839)”
“In addition, this definition is followed by a canon, which states: ‘But if anyone presumes to contradict this definition of Ours, which may God forbid: let him be anathema’ (Denzinger 1840).
Clearly, a faithful Catholic will note the seeming disconnect between what Pastor Aeternus defined infallibly, and what Cardinal Müller said above. But, the Cardinal is no dummy as to suggest ex cathedra statements can be disregarded. This suggests, to me at least, a hidden, unstated and inescapable implication in the Cardinal’s statement, as well as being an indication of how he and other Cardinals are now privately viewing Pope Francis–though this is speculative.”
“There is only one way, in logic at least, for a Catholic to accept Vatican I on papal infallibility but reject a heretical declaration that seemingly meets the formal conditions of being ex cathedra.
Given that a true pope is protected by the Holy Spirit from teaching an error ex cathedra, it follows that if a man, seemingly “pope,” were to teach something which denies or conflicts with a known truth of the Catholic Faith it must be either (1) the man thought to be “pope” was never a true pope to begin with, or (2) the man thought to be “pope” had, at some point in the past, already fallen through heresy or apostasy from the Petrine office. Those are the logical implications as I see them. Whether these are intended by the Cardinal or not with respect to Francis, in such a hypothetical scenario as he outlined, I cannot say.”
“If this a fair analysis, it may suggest the Cardinal and at least a few others in the Sacred College are actively considering one of these options to be a real possibility in the case of Pope Francis. If nothing else, it certainly is a shot across the bow of Pope Francis. It does suggest, along with other statements from the likes of Cardinal Brandmuller, that some in the “resistance” are reaching the point where they can bend no more. So, after so many years, we may be reaching a decisive moment.” [https://romalocutaest.com/2019/07/27/when-is-a-pope-not-a-pope/]
If “the Cardinal and at least a few others in the Sacred College [were] actively considering one of these options to be a real possibility in the case of Pope Francis,” it seemed proper to go over how and why Francis might be an antipope or a heretical pope.
We will start with two reasons why he may be an antipope:
Bishop Rene Gracida has convincingly demonstrated that there is valid evidence that Pope John Paul II’s conclave constitution “Universi Dominici Gregis” which “prescribe[d].. [the] method for the election of his successor(s)” was violated and must be investigated by Cardinals. If, after the investigation, Francis is found to be a antipope then a new pope would have to be elected after Benedict XVI’s resignation is investigated to see if his resignation was valid.
If Benedict’s abdication was “a forced resignation [it] would be invalid” as Cardinal Walter Kasper said (LifeSiteNews, “Cdl. Kasper: A ‘forced resignation’ of Pope Francis would be invalid,” January 30, 2019) or if Benedict resigned in a invalid manner as scholar Antonio Socci presents evidence for in his new book (“The Secret of Benedict XVI”) then he would either have to resign validly or remain pope until his death.
If the Benedict resignation was invalid then the conclave investigation is irrelevant because the Church can’t have a valid conclave if the previous pope (Benedict) is still the pope which simply means the so-called pope (Francis) is an antipope.
Getting back to the topic of violation of “papal election procedures,” renowned Catholic historian Carroll explicitly says that what matters in a valid papal election is not how many cardinals claim a person is the pope. What is essential for determining if someone is pope or antipope is the “election procedures… [as] governed by the prescription of the last Pope”:
“Papal election procedures are governed by the prescription of the last Pope who provided for them (that is, any Pope can change them, but they remain in effect until they are changed by a duly elected Pope).”
“During the first thousand years of the history of the Papacy the electors were the clergy of Rome (priests and deacons); during the second thousand years we have had the College of Cardinals.”
“But each Pope, having unlimited sovereign power as head of the Church, can prescribe any method for the election of his successor(s) that he chooses. These methods must then be followed in the next election after the death of the Pope who prescribed it, and thereafter until they are changed. A Papal claimant not following these methods is also an Antipope.”
“Since Antipopes by definition base their claims on defiance of proper Church authority, all have been harmful to the Church, though a few have later reformed after giving up their claims.” [http://www.ewtn.com/library/homelibr/antipope.txt]
Next, why might Francis be a heretical pope?
As Muller asserted “No… Pope alone, if he spoke ex cathedra, could make possible the ordination of women as bishop, priest, or deacon. [He] would stand in contradiction [of] the defined doctrine of the Church. It would be invalid.”
In other words, if Francis taught heresy that contradicted Church defined doctrine he would be an antipope or a heretical pope. An antipope and, apparently in O’Reilly‘s view a heretical pope, when he speaks “ex cathedra” can speak what is “invalid” because the false pope’s papacy is invalid. Muller wrote:
“The Magisterium of the Pope and of the bishops has no authority over the substance of the Sacraments (Trent, Decree on Communion under both species, DH 1728; Sacrosanctum Concilium 21). Therefore, no synod – with or without the Pope – and also no ecumenical council, or the Pope alone, if he spoke ex cathedra, could make possible the ordination of women as bishop, priest, or deacon. They would stand in contradiction the defined doctrine of the Church. It would be invalid. Independent of this, there is the equality of all baptized in the life of Grace, and in the vocation to all ecclesial offices and functions for which exercise the Sacrament of Holy Orders itself is not necessary.” (On the Synodal Process in Germany and the Synod for the Amazon by Cardinal Gerhard Müller, text posted by LifeSiteNew, 7/26/2019) [https://romalocutaest.com/2019/07/27/when-is-a-pope-not-a-pope/]
Moreover, Francis has explicitly contradicted traditional Catholic teaching on divorce and remarriage when he in a “official act as the pope when he placed the Argentine letter in the Acts of the Apostolic See (AAS) in which he said of the Buenos Aires region episcopal guidelines:
“There is no other interpretations.”
The guidelines explicitly allows according to LifeSiteNews “sexuality active adulterous couples facing ‘complex circumstances’ to ‘access the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.'”(LifeSiteNews, “Confusion explodes as Pope Francis throws magisterial weight behind communion for adulterers, December 4, 2017) In a article on OnePeterFive, specialist in Magisterial authority Dr. John Joy said “It means that it is an official act of the pope.” Moreover, the article said: “Dr. Joy pointed out that adding the letter to the AAS could, in fact, damage the credibility of Amoris Laetitia by potentially removing the possibility that it could be intercepted in an orthodox way, via its publication in the official acts of the Apostolic See, that the unorthodox interpretation is the official one.”(OnePeterFive, “Pope’s Letter on Argentinian Communion Guidelines for Remarriage Given Official Status,” December 2, 2017) The “official act of” Francis is a “unorthodox interpretation.” The “official act of the pope” is a “unorthodox interpretation” which means it contradicts traditional Catholic teaching which is just another way of saying by “official act the pope” is teaching heresy. Now, let us quote the renowned American philosopher Edward Feser: “(1) Adulterous sexual acts are in some special circumstances morally permissible… these propositions flatly contradict irreformable Catholic teaching. Proposition (1) contradicts not only the perennial moral teaching of the Church, but the teaching of scripture itself.”(Edwardfeser.blogspot, “Denial flows into the Tiber,” December 18, 2016) If this is true then the teaching of St. Francis de Sales comes into play. Doctor of the Church St. Francis de Sales totally confirmed beyond any doubt the possibility of a heretical pope and what must be done by the Church in such a situation:
“[T]he Pope… WHEN he is EXPLICITLY a heretic, he falls ipso facto from his dignity and out of the Church, and the Church MUST either deprive him, or, as some say, declare him deprived, of his Apostolic See.” (The Catholic Controversy, by St. Francis de Sales, Pages 305-306)
The renowned scholar Arnaldo Xavier de Silveira who was one of the top experts in modern times of the subjects of papal validity and heretical popes gave a brief overview of his authority on this matters:
“In the 1970 Brazilian edition of my study of the heretical Pope, in the French edition of 1975 and in the Italian in 2016, I stated that on the grounds of the intrinsic theological reasons underpinning the Fifth Opinion I considered it not merely probable but certain. I chose not to insist on the qualification ‘theologically certain’ for an extrinsic reason, namely, that certain authors of weight do not adopt it.43 This was also the opinion of the then Bishop of Campos, Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer, as expressed in a letter of 25th January 1974, when he sent my work to Paul VI, asking him to point out any possible errors (which never took place), expressly stating that he referred to the study ‘written by lawyer Arnaldo Vidigal Xavier da Silveira, with the contents of which I associate myself .’” [https://www.scribd.com/document/374434852/Arnaldo-Vidigal-Xavier-Da-Silveira-Replies-to-Fr-Gleize-on-Heretical-Pope]
Here is what de Silveira says in his book “Implications Of New Missae And Heretic Popes (Page 176)” on the subject of heretical popes:
“Conclusion
“Resuming: We believe that a careful examination of the question of a Pope heretic, with the theological elements of which we dispose today, permits one to conclude that an eventual Pope heretic would lose his charge in the moment in which his heresy became ‘notorious and publicly divulged’.”
“And we think that this sentence is not only intrinsically probable , but certain , since the reasons allegeable in its defense appear to us as absolutely cogent. Besides, in the works which we have consulted, we have not found any argument which persuaded us of the opposite. “
“(1 ) The second opinion referred by Saint Robert Bellarmine – See pp. 1 56 ft.
(2) The first subdivision proposed by us to the fifth opinion referred by Saint Robert Bellarmine – See p. 170.
(3) The second subdivision which we proposed to the fifth opinion – See p. 170.
(4) The third subdivision which we proposed on the fifth opinion. – See p. 1 70.
(5) The fourth opinion referred by Saint Robert Bellarmine . – See pp. 161 ff.
(6) We transcribe that long argumentation on pp. 1 64 ff. – See also note 2 of p. 1 64.
(7) One ought not to see shades of conciliarism in the principle that ecclesiastical organisms, as the Council, can omit a pronouncement declaring the eventual cessation of functions of a Pope heretic, as long as these organisms do not claim for themselves any right other than that enjoyed by any one of the faithful. For motives of mere convenience or courtesy, it could behoove these organisms to make such a declaration, in the first place; but this priority would not constitute for them a right of their own, or even less exclusive.” [https://archive.org/stream/SilveiraImplicationsOfNewMissaeAndHereticPopes/Silveira%20Implications%20of%20New%20Missae%20and%20Heretic%20Popes_djvu.txt]
Finally, Dr. John R. T. Lamont, philosopher and theologian, explains the procedures of how Francis’s papacy could cease if he is declared a heretical pope by the Church:
If Francis refuses to renounce either his heresy or his office, however, this situation will just have to be faced.”
Finally, some liberals such as Mike Lewis claim a pope cannot teach heresy which according to Vatican I may be “proximate to heresy”:
Mike Lewis of the Where Peter Is blog appears to believe that Francis’s teaching allowing Communion for adulterers is infallible.
Lewis who is a Pachamama and Francis apologist apparently thinks Francis cannot fall into heresy because he is infallibly definitely pope and “ALL” his “statements… are infallible”:
Here is what Vatican I expert Fr. Chad Ripperger, PhD, in his book “Magisterial Authority” says to Lewis who it appears is “proximate to heresy”:
“[T]reat[ing] ALL papal statements as if they are infallible… is proximate to heresy because it rejects the precise formulation of the conditions of infallibility as laid out in by Vatican I… by essentially saying that the pope is infallible regardless of conditions.”
“… Worse still, those who were to follow a pope who was in error in a non-infallible teaching which is taught contrary to something that is infallible is not, therefore, excused.” (Magisterial Authority, Pages 5-14)
Pray an Our Father now for the restoration of the Church as well as for the Triumph of the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of MarySHARE

Speaking Truth Crushes Evilby Judie BrownRead online and share: https://all.org/speaking-truth-crushes-evil/by Judie BrownFr. James Altman, pastor of St. James the Less in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has become a national hero to many. He has even been called the modern Elijah. Catholics who have heard his 10-minute homily entitled “You Cannot Be Catholic and a Democrat. Period” are elated with his words of truth, not to mention his courage in uttering them aloud. That is because it is wonderful to hear simple truth in an age when the level of political correctness spewing from many pulpits is unbelievably disturbing. But not everyone loves Fr. Altman’s words, including his bishop, Diocese of La Crosse shepherd William Callahan. Callahan said he has begun a time of fraternal correction involving Fr. Altman and his homily. And one particularly snippy reporter wrote that Fr. Altman’s homily was “racist.” Yet we see that the writer of this article, Rebecca Hamilton, is a politician; she is a “Catholic” Democrat. Hamilton’s article is colored by her personal politics, which is anything but Catholic. In today’s cultural climate, speaking truth from the pulpit is a racist activity, according to Hamilton. But she is not alone. Bishop Callahan’s official statement on the matter described Fr. Altman’s words as “divisive.” Callahan wrote that Father Altman’s tone was “angry and judgmental,” “lacking any charity,” and “causing scandal.”Such words hide the truth, leading others to get on the bandwagon and spout the same sort of anti-Fr. Altman rhetoric. Even a local newspaper described Altman’s words as degrading to practicing Catholics who are Democrats, suggesting to readers that the Catholic Church has become “polarized in recent years,”—a statement designed to suggest that Catholic teaching on abortion is a matter of opinion.Fr. James Altman: You cannot be Catholic & a Democrat. Period.Newsweek magazine sought to confuse Altman’s clear teaching with dissident Jesuit James Martin’s folly at the Democratic convention, opining that tax-exempt organizations should not be getting involved in politics. Yet, as we know, abortion is murder. It is not politics. So, we are pleased to tell you that the public outpouring of support for Fr. Altman has been amazing.Fr. Mark Goring issued his own statement on the matter in which he clarified again that those Catholics who support abortion or vote for those who support abortion have blood on their hands.Mother Miriam’s radio program took time to praise Fr. Altman and thank God for his wise words.Websites have devoted coverage to those who stand with Fr. Altman and defend Catholic truth, not to mention the Life Petition that has been signed by more than 60,000 people. The petition signers support Fr. Altman and ask Bishop Callahan: “Please do not allow yourself to be deceived or bullied by the Democratic Party or by the mainstream media—neither of which have the best interests of the Church at heart.”Catholic leaders like Phil Sevilla have written to Bishop Callahan, asking him pointed questions based on the fact that Fr. Altman did nothing wrong. Speaking truth is not a racist action; it is his duty as a priest.Four years ago, like Fathers Altman and Goring, Fr. John Lankeit delivered a stirring sermon on the same topic, including an insight that is too infrequently ignored. He explained that the devil is a divider, using his wiles to separate us from the love of Christ. And he pointed out that when priests and/or Catholics do not stand up and defend the innocent and most vulnerable, they are exhibiting cowardice. He reminded us of this teaching from Saint Paul in 2 Timothy 1:7-8: “God did not give us a spiritof timidity, but the Spirit of power and love and self-control. So you are never to be ashamed of witnessing to our Lord, or ashamed of me for being his prisoner; but share in my hardships for the sake of the gospel, relying on the power of God who has saved us and called us to be holy.”The spirit of courage thwarts the devil’s invitation to be politically correct cowards. Fr. Altman knows this, and so do we. Speaking truth crushes evil. It always will.Judie Brown President American Life League
