BY: VICTOR DAVIS HANSON December. 30, 2020 The year 2020 is now commonly dubbed the annus horribilis — “the horrible year.” The last 10 months certainly have been awful. But then so was 1968, when both Martin Luther King Jr. and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated. The Tet Offensive escalated the Vietnam War and tore America apart. Race and anti-war riots rocked our major cities. Protesters fought with police at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. A new influenza virus, H3N2 (the “Hong Kong flu”), killed some 100,000 Americans. But an even worse 2020 saw the COVID-19 outbreak reach global pandemic proportions by March. Chinese officials mislead the world about the origins of the disease — without apologies. Authorities here in the U.S. were sometimes contradictory in declaring quarantines either effective or superfluous. Masks were discouraged and then mandated. Researchers initially did not know how exactly the virus spread, only that it could be lethal to those over 65 or with comorbidities. Initial forecasts of 1 million to 2 million Americans dying from the virus unduly panicked the population. But earlier assurances that the death toll wouldn’t reach 100,000 falsely reassured them. By April, a historic, booming economy was in an abrupt recession. Much of the country went into quarantine on the theory of “flattening the curve” of infection for three to four weeks. Instead, weeks turned into months. Soon, many people believed that the economic wreckage and emotional damage from the lockdowns would eventually overshadow the toll of the virus itself. By June, initially peaceful protests over the death of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody had turned violent in some cities.  For much of the summer and into fall, some major cities would see nightly rioting, looting and arson, as antifa and Black Lives Matter hijacked the nation’s outrage over Floyd’s death. Fear of getting infected, concerns about going broke, anxiety about venturing out during the nightly havoc, frustration over weeks of forced isolation, and exhaustion from a bitter presidential campaign – all of it put Americans into a nasty mood on the eve of an acrimonious election. The 2020 presidential election proved as revolutionary as the quarantines. The radical transition to unprecedented levels of mail-in balloting tested the ability of state registrars to authenticate and efficiently count ballots, which often did not meet verification standards of past absentee voting. Enormous voter turnout, spiked in part by huge numbers of mail-in ballots, delighted Democrats but helped convince Republicans of massive voter fraud. After weeks of contention, Donald Trump lost the Electoral College vote. Yet Republicans defied the predictions of experts and won key races in the House and Senate. So pundits argued about whether the left had won by electing Joe Biden or lost by doing dismally in congressional elections. The media, pollsters, and the government establishment were mostly gladdened by the Trump loss, even as their overt bias and partisanship permanently tarnished their reputations. For the first time in American history, given the lockdowns and the cold-weather viral resurgence, there was neither a traditional Thanksgiving nor Christmas for many people. Yet amid the death, destruction, and dissension, history will show that America did not fall apart. In remarkable fashion, researchers created a viable and safe COVID-19 vaccine in less than a year — a feat earlier described as impossible by experts. The nation went into recession but avoided the forecasted depression.This was partly because America in early 2020 was booming by historical standards, and partly because the Trump administration and Congress quickly infused some $4 trillion of liquidity into the inert economy. For all the charges and counter-charges of voter fraud and Trump being a sore loser, President-elect Joe Biden will eventually take office. And Donald Trump will leave it. No one disputes that the 2020 campaign and election were abnormal. Whether they were unfair or illegitimate will likely be readjudicated in the 2022 midterm and 2024 general elections. By then, the people will have had time to digest the bizarre events of the annus horribilis — and with their votes make the necessary compensations. For all of America’s troubles, the world abroad was worse. China eerily bragged that it reacted best to its own virus — even as its global popularity crashed. Europe did little better in combatting the pandemic and saw its economy in even worse shape. More importantly, as the year ended, there was a patch of blue sky amid the storm clouds. The Middle East may be on the verge of a historic recalibrated peace.  The world is now pushing back against Chinese mercantilism. The southern border is mostly secure. The flood of illegal immigration has ebbed to a trickle. The strategies that sparked a three-year economic boom need only be reapplied in 2021. Amid death and destruction, perhaps one day historians will conclude that what could not kill off America in 2020 only made it stronger. RIP MCINTOSH

1. Now that the Vatican has renewed its insidious secret agreement with China, a deal which you have repeatedly condemned as promoted by Bergoglio with the assistance of McCarrick, what can the “children of light” of the Great Awakening concretely do to undermine this unholy alliance with this brutal Communist regime?

The dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party is allied to the global deep state, on the one hand so that together they can attain the goals that they have in common, on the other hand because the plans for the Great Reset are an opportunity to increase the economic power of China in the world, beginning with the invasion of national markets. At the same time that it pursues this project in its foreign policy, China is pursuing a domestic plan to restore the Maoist tyranny, which requires the cancellation of religions (primarily the Catholic religion), replacing them with a religion of the State which definitely has many elements in common with the universal religion desired by globalist ideology, whose spiritual leader is Bergoglio.

The complicity of Bergoglio’s deep church in this infernal project has deprived Chinese Catholics of the indefectible defense that the Papacy had always been for them. Up until the papacy of Benedict XVI, the papacy had not made any agreements with the Beijing dictatorship, and the Roman Pontiff retained the exclusive right to appoint bishops and govern dioceses. I recall that even at the time of the Bill Clinton administration during the 1990’s, former Cardinal McCarrick was the point of contact between the deep church and the American deep state, carrying out political missions in China on behalf of the US administration. And the suspicions that the resignation of Benedict XVI involved China are quite strong and coherent with the picture that has been emerging in recent months. 

Thus we find ourselves faced with an infamous betrayal of the mission of the Church of Christ, carried out by her highest leaders in open conflict with those members of the Chinese Catholic underground hierarchy who have remained faithful to Our Lord and to His Church. My affectioned thoughts and prayers are with them and with Cardinal Zen, an eminent confessor of the faith, whom Bergoglio recently shamefully refused to receive.

We believers must act on the spiritual level by fervent prayer, asking God to give special protection to the Church in China, and also by continually denouncing the aberrations carried out by the Chinese regime. This action must be accompanied by a work of raising awareness within governments and international institutions that have not been compromised by the Chinese communist dictatorship, so that the violations of human rights and the attacks on the freedom of the Catholic Church in China may be denounced and punished with sanctions and strong diplomatic pressure. And this is the line that President Trump is pursuing with decisive courage. Beijing’s complicity with political and religious elements that are involved in murky operations of speculation and corruption must likewise be exposed. These profit-driven dealings constitute a very grave act of treason by politicians and public officials against their nation and also a grave betrayal of the Church by the men who lead her. I also think that in some cases this betrayal is not only carried out by individuals but also by the institutions themselves, as in the case of the European Union, which is currently finalizing a commercial agreement with China despite its systematic violation of human rights and its violent repression of dissent. 

It would be an irreparable disaster if Joe Biden, who is heavily suspected of being complicit with the Chinese dictatorship, would be designated as President of the United States.

2. You have been very confident that God desires a Trump victory in order to defeat the forces of evil inherent in the globalists’ Great Reset. What would you say to convince the naysayers who are ambivalent to the idea that this is a momentous battle between the children of light and the children of darkness?

I simply consider who Trump’s adversary is and his numerous ties to China, the deep state, and the advocates of globalist ideology. I think of his intention to condemn us all to wear masks, as he has candidly admitted. I think of the fact that, incontestably, he is only a puppet in the hands of the elite, who are ready to remove him as soon they decide to replace him with Kamala Harris. 

Beyond the political alignments, we must further understand that – above all in a complex situation like the present one – it is essential that the victory of the one who is elected President must be guaranteed in its absolute legal legitimacy, avoiding any suspicion of fraud and taking note of the overwhelming evidence of irregularities that has emerged in several states. A President who is simply proclaimed as such by the mainstream media affiliated with the deep state would be deprived of all legitimacy and would expose the nation to dangerous foreign interference, as has already been shown to have happened in the current election.

3. You seem to suggest that the Trump Administration could be instrumental in helping to return the Church to a pre-Francis Catholicism. How does the Trump Administration accomplish that, and how can American Catholics work to save the world from this globalist ‘reset’?

Bergoglio’s subservience to the globalist agenda is obvious, as well as his active support for the election of Joe Biden. In the same way, Bergoglio’s hostility to Trump and his repeated attacks against the President are evident. It is clear that Bergoglio considers Trump as his principal adversary, the obstacle that needs to be removed, so that the Great Reset can be put in motion.

Thus on the one hand we have the Trump administration and the traditional values that it holds in common with those of Catholics; on the other hand we have the deep state of the self-styled Catholic Joe Biden, who is subservient to the globalist ideology and its perverse, anti-human, antichristic, infernal agenda. 

In order to put an end to the deep church and restore the Catholic Church, the extent of the involvement of the leaders of the Church with the Masonic-globalist project will have to be revealed: the nature of the corruption and crimes that these men have carried out, thereby making themselves vulnerable to blackmail, just as happens in a similar way in the political field to members of the deep state, beginning with Biden himself. Thus it is to be hoped that any proof of such crimes that is in the possession of the Secret Services would be brought to light, especially in relation to the true motives that led to the resignation of Benedict XVI and the conspiracies underlying the election of Bergoglio, thereby permitting the expulsion of the mercenaries who have seized control of the Church.

American Catholics still have time to denounce this global subversion and stop the establishment of the New Order: let them think about what sort of future they want for the coming generations, and of the destruction of society. Let them think about the responsibility that they have before God, their children, and their nation: as Catholics, as fathers and mothers of their families, and as patriots. 

4. Against all odds, average Americans are fighting to expose the massive and coordinated theft of our election: what advice would you give to our recalcitrant politicians about what is at stake for our nation and the world if we submit to this theft?

The Truth can be denied by the majority for a certain amount of time, or by some people forever, but it can never be hidden from everyone forever. This is the lesson of History, which has inexorably revealed the great crimes of the past and those who perpetrated them.

Thus I invite politicians, beyond their political loyalties, to become champions of the Truth, to defend it as an indispensable treasure which alone can guarantee the credibility of institutions and the authority of the people’s representatives, in accord with the mandate they have received, the oath they have sworn to serve their country, and their moral responsibility before God. Each one of us has a role that Providence has entrusted to us, and which it would be culpable to shrink from. If the United States misses this opportunity, now, it will be wiped out from History. If it allows the idea to spread among the masses that the electoral choice of the citizens – the first expression of democracy – can be manipulated and thwarted, it will be complicit in the fraud, and will certainly deserve the execration of the entire world, which looks to America as a nation which has fought for and defended its freedom.  

5. In your letter to the President on October 25, the Solemnity of Christ the King, you spoke of the efforts of the deep state as “the final assault of the children of darkness.” There is a concerted effort by the globalists and their media partners to conceal and obscure the true tyrannical agenda implicit in the Great Reset, by calling it a wild conspiracy theory. What would you say to the skeptics who blissfully ignore the signs and plan to submit humanity to the domination of the global elites?

The plan of the Great Reset makes use of the mainstream media as an indispensable ally: the media corporations are almost all actively part of the deep state and know that the power that will be guaranteed to them in the future depends exclusively on their slavish adherence to its agenda. 

Labeling those who denounce the existence of a conspiracy as “conspiracy theorists” confirms, if anything, that this conspiracy exists, and that its authors are very upset at having been found out and reported to public opinion. And yet they themselves have said it: Nothing will be the same again. And also: Build Back Better, in an effort to make us believe that the radical changes they want to impose have been made necessary by a pandemic, by climate change, and by technological progress.

Years ago, those who spoke of the New World Order were called conspiracy theorists. Today, all of the world’s leaders, including Bergoglio, speak with impunity about the New World Order, describing it exactly in the terms that were identified by the so-called conspiracy theorists. It is enough to read the globalists’ declarations to understand that the conspiracy exists and that they pride themselves on being its architects, to the point of admitting the need for a pandemic in order to reach their objectives of social engineering. 

To the skeptics I ask: if the models that are proposed to us today are so terrible, what will our children be able to expect when the elite will have succeeded in taking total control over the nations? Families without father and mother, polyamory, sodomy, children who can change their sex, the cancellation of Religion and the imposition of an infernal cult, abortion and euthanasia, the abolition of private property, a health dictatorship, a perpetual pandemic. Is this the world that we want, that you want for yourselves, your children, and your family and friends?

We must all become aware of how much the proponents of the New World Order and the Great Reset hate the inalienable values of our Greco-Christian civilization, such as Religion, the family, respect for life and the inviolable rights of the human person, and national sovereignty. 

6. You have repeatedly warned that the ‘deep state’ and ‘deep church’ have colluded to plot in various ways to overthrow Benedict as well as President Trump. Besides Theodore McCarrick, who else is behind this infernal alliance, and how do Catholics undermine and expose it?

It is apparent that McCarrick acted on behalf of the deep state and the deep church, but he certainly did not do it alone. All of his activity suggests a very efficient organizational structure composed of people whom McCarrick had promoted and covered by other accomplices. 

The events that led to the resignation of Benedict XVI still need to be clarified, but one of the members of the deep church, the deceased Cardinal Danneels, a Jesuit like Bergoglio, admitted that he was a part of the so-called Saint Gallen Mafia, which essentially worked to bring about the “springtime of the Church” which John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff, wrote about in his emails published by Wikileaks.

Thus there is a group of conspirators who have worked and still work in the heart of the Church for the interests of the elite. Most of them are identifiable, but the most dangerous are those who do not expose themselves, those whom the newspaper never mentions. They will not hesitate to force Bergoglio to resign also, just like Ratzinger, if he does not obey their orders. They would like to transform the Vatican into a retirement home for popes emeriti, demolishing the papacy and securing power: exactly the same as what happens in the deep state, where, as I have already said, Biden is the equivalent of Bergoglio.

In order to bring down the deep state and the deep church, three things are essential:

1. first of all, becoming aware of what globalism’s plan is, and to what extent it is instrumental to the establishment of the kingdom of the Antichrist, since it shares its principles, means, and ends;

2. secondly, firmly denouncing this infernal plan and asking the Shepherds of the Church – and also the laity – to defend her, breaking their complicit silence: God will demand of them an account for their desertion;

3. finally, it is necessary to pray, asking the Lord to grant each one of us the strength to resist – resistite fortes in fide, Saint Peter warns us – against the ideological tyranny that is daily imposed on us not only by the media but also by the cardinals and bishops who are under Bergoglio’s thumb.

If we can prove ourselves strong in facing this trial; if we know how to hold ourselves anchored to the rock of the Church without allowing ourselves to be seduced by false christs and false prophets, the Lord will permit us to see – at least for now – the defeat of the assault of the children of darkness against God and men. If out of fear or complicity we follow the prince of this world, denying our Baptismal promises, we will be condemned with him to inexorable defeat and eternal damnation. I tremble for those who do not realize the responsibility that they have before God for the souls that He has entrusted to them. But to those who fight courageously to defend the rights of God, the Nation, and the Family, the Lord assures his protection. He has placed His Most Holy Mother at our side, the Queen of Victories and the Help of Christians. We invoke Her faithfully during these difficult days, confidently certain of Her intervention.

In 2016, Michael Anton wrote the article “The Flight 93 Election” that Rush Limbaugh said was “one of the greatest columns ever written” explaining that that election was “the most important one America has faced in more than a century.”

He said immediately after the 2020 election night that this election was “the most important one America has [ever] faced” and showed that the Joe Biden Steal is a deadly real “coup” that will kill America as a free nation.

The Anton essay “The Flight 93 Election” is more overwhelmingly important now than then if we are to save America from Tucker Carlson’s Conservatism Inc.’s betrayal of the United States to the Biden Steal. Here is part of that important article:

Conservatism, Inc.’s, “answer” to the first may, at this point, simply be dismissed. If the conservatives wish to have a serious debate, I for one am game—more than game; eager. The problem of “subjective certainty” can only be overcome by going into the agora. But my attempt to do so—the blog that Kesler mentions—was met largely with incredulity. How can they say that?! How can anyone apparently of our caste (conservative intellectuals) not merely support Trump (however lukewarmly) but offer reasons for doing do?

One of the Journal of American Greatness’s deeper arguments was that only in a corrupt republic, in corrupt times, could a Trump rise. It is therefore puzzling that those most horrified by Trump are the least willing to consider the possibility that the republic is dying. That possibility, apparently, seems to them so preposterous that no refutation is necessary.

As does, presumably, the argument that the stakes in 2016 are—everything. I should here note that I am a good deal gloomier than my (former) JAG colleagues, and that while we frequently used the royal “we” when discussing things on which we all agreed, I here speak only for myself.

How have the last two decades worked out for you, personally? If you’re a member or fellow-traveler of the Davos class, chances are: pretty well. If you’re among the subspecies conservative intellectual or politician, you’ve accepted—perhaps not consciously, but unmistakably—your status on the roster of the Washington Generals of American politics. Your job is to show up and lose, but you are a necessary part of the show and you do get paid. To the extent that you are ever on the winning side of anything, it’s as sophists who help the Davoisie oligarchy rationalize open borders, lower wages, outsourcing, de-industrialization, trade giveaways, and endless, pointless, winless war.

All of Trump’s 16 Republican competitors would have ensured more of the same—as will the election of Hillary Clinton. That would be bad enough. But at least Republicans are merely reactive when it comes to wholesale cultural and political change. Their “opposition” may be in all cases ineffectual and often indistinguishable from support. But they don’t dream up inanities like 32 “genders,” elective bathrooms, single-payer, Iran sycophancy, “Islamophobia,” and Black Lives Matter. They merely help ratify them.

A Hillary presidency will be pedal-to-the-metal on the entire Progressive-left agenda, plus items few of us have yet imagined in our darkest moments. Nor is even that the worst. It will be coupled with a level of vindictive persecution against resistance and dissent hitherto seen in the supposedly liberal West only in the most “advanced” Scandinavian countries and the most leftist corners of Germany and England. We see this already in the censorship practiced by the Davoisie’s social media enablers; in the shameless propaganda tidal wave of the mainstream media; and in the personal destruction campaigns—operated through the former and aided by the latter—of the Social Justice Warriors. We see it in Obama’s flagrant use of the IRS to torment political opponents, the gaslighting denial by the media, and the collective shrug by everyone else.

It’s absurd to assume that any of this would stop or slow—would do anything other than massively intensify—in a Hillary administration. It’s even more ridiculous to expect that hitherto useless conservative opposition would suddenly become effective. For two generations at least, the Left has been calling everyone to their right Nazis. This trend has accelerated exponentially in the last few years, helped along by some on the Right who really do seem to merit—and even relish—the label. There is nothing the modern conservative fears more than being called “racist,” so alt-right pocket Nazis are manna from heaven for the Left. But also wholly unnecessary: sauce for the goose. The Left was calling us Nazis long before any pro-Trumpers tweeted Holocaust denial memes. And how does one deal with a Nazi—that is, with an enemy one is convinced intends your destruction? You don’t compromise with him or leave him alone. You crush him.

So what do we have to lose by fighting back? Only our Washington Generals jerseys—and paychecks. But those are going away anyway. Among the many things the “Right” still doesn’t understand is that the Left has concluded that this particular show need no longer go on. They don’t think they need a foil anymore and would rather dispense with the whole bother of staging these phony contests in which each side ostensibly has a shot.

If you haven’t noticed, our side has been losing consistently since 1988. We can win midterms, but we do nothing with them. Call ours Hannibalic victories. After the Carthaginian’s famous slaughter of a Roman army at Cannae, he failed to march on an undefended Rome, prompting his cavalry commander to complain: “you know how to win a victory, but not how to use one.” And, aside from 2004’s lackluster 50.7%, we can’t win the big ones at all.

Because the deck is stacked overwhelmingly against us. I will mention but three ways. First, the opinion-making elements—the universities and the media above all—are wholly corrupt and wholly opposed to everything we want, and increasingly even to our existence. (What else are the wars on “cis-genderism”—formerly known as “nature”—and on the supposed “white privilege” of broke hillbillies really about?) If it hadn’t been abundantly clear for the last 50 years, the campaign of 2015-2016 must surely have made it evident to even the meanest capacities that the intelligentsia—including all the organs through which it broadcasts its propaganda—is overwhelmingly partisan and biased. Against this onslaught, “conservative” media is a nullity, barely a whisper. It cannot be heard above the blaring of what has been aptly called “The Megaphone.”

Second, our Washington Generals self-handicap and self-censor to an absurd degree. Lenin is supposed to have said that “the best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.” But with an opposition like ours, why bother? Our “leaders” and “dissenters” bend over backward to play by the self-sabotaging rules the Left sets for them. Fearful, beaten dogs have more thymos.

Third and most important, the ceaseless importation of Third World foreigners with no tradition of, taste for, or experience in liberty means that the electorate grows more left, more Democratic, less Republican, less republican, and less traditionally American with every cycle. As does, of course, the U.S. population, which only serves to reinforce the two other causes outlined above. This is the core reason why the Left, the Democrats, and the bipartisan junta (categories distinct but very much overlapping) think they are on the cusp of a permanent victory that will forever obviate the need to pretend to respect democratic and constitutional niceties. Because they are.

It’s also why they treat open borders as the “absolute value,” the one “principle” that—when their “principles” collide—they prioritize above all the others. If that fact is insufficiently clear, consider this. Trump is the most liberal Republican nominee since Thomas Dewey. He departs from conservative orthodoxy in so many ways that National Review still hasn’t stopped counting. But let’s stick to just the core issues animating his campaign. On trade, globalization, and war, Trump is to the left (conventionally understood) not only of his own party, but of his Democratic opponent. And yet the Left and the junta are at one with the house-broken conservatives in their determination—desperation—not merely to defeat Trump but to destroy him. What gives?

Oh, right—there’s that other issue. The sacredness of mass immigration is the mystic chord that unites America’s ruling and intellectual classes. Their reasons vary somewhat. The Left and the Democrats seek ringers to form a permanent electoral majority. They, or many of them, also believe the academic-intellectual lie that America’s inherently racist and evil nature can be expiated only through ever greater “diversity.” The junta of course craves cheaper and more docile labor. It also seeks to legitimize, and deflect unwanted attention from, its wealth and power by pretending that its open borders stance is a form of noblesse oblige. The Republicans and the “conservatives”? Both of course desperately want absolution from the charge of “racism.” For the latter, this at least makes some sense. No Washington General can take the court—much less cash his check—with that epithet dancing over his head like some Satanic Spirit. But for the former, this priestly grace comes at the direct expense of their worldly interests. Do they honestly believe that the right enterprise zone or charter school policy will arouse 50.01% of our newer voters to finally reveal their “natural conservatism” at the ballot box? It hasn’t happened anywhere yet and shows no signs that it ever will. But that doesn’t stop the Republican refrain: more, more, more! No matter how many elections they lose, how many districts tip forever blue, how rarely (if ever) their immigrant vote cracks 40%, the answer is always the same. Just like Angela Merkel after yet another rape, shooting, bombing, or machete attack. More, more, more!

This is insane. This is the mark of a party, a society, a country, a people, a civilization that wants to die. Trump, alone among candidates for high office in this or in the last seven (at least) cycles, has stood up to say: I want to live. I want my party to live. I want my country to live. I want my people to live. I want to end the insanity.

Yes, Trump is worse than imperfect. So what? We can lament until we choke the lack of a great statesman to address the fundamental issues of our time—or, more importantly, to connect them. Since Pat Buchanan’s three failures, occasionally a candidate arose who saw one piece: Dick Gephardt on trade, Ron Paul on war, Tom Tancredo on immigration. Yet, among recent political figures—great statesmen, dangerous demagogues, and mewling gnats alike—only Trump-the-alleged-buffoon not merely saw all three and their essential connectivity, but was able to win on them. The alleged buffoon is thus more prudent—more practically wise—than all of our wise-and-good who so bitterly oppose him. This should embarrass them. That their failures instead embolden them is only further proof of their foolishness and hubris.

Which they self-laud as “consistency”—adherence to “conservative principle,” defined by the 1980 campaign and the household gods of reigning conservative think-tanks. A higher consistency in the service of the national interest apparently eludes them. When America possessed a vast, empty continent and explosively growing industry, high immigration was arguably good policy. (Arguably: Ben Franklin would disagree.) It hasn’t made sense since World War I. Free trade was unquestionably a great boon to the American worker in the decades after World War II. We long ago passed the point of diminishing returns. The Gulf War of 1991 was a strategic victory for American interests. No conflict since then has been. Conservatives either can’t see this—or, worse, those who can nonetheless treat the only political leader to mount a serious challenge to the status quo (more immigration, more trade, more war) as a unique evil.

Trump’s vulgarity is in fact a godsend to the conservatives. It allows them to hang their public opposition on his obvious shortcomings and to ignore or downplay his far greater strengths, which should be even more obvious but in corrupt times can be deliberately obscured by constant references to his faults. That the Left would make the campaign all about the latter is to be expected. Why would the Right? Some—a few—are no doubt sincere in their belief that the man is simply unfit for high office. David Frum, who has always been an immigration skeptic and is a convert to the less-war position, is sincere when he says that, even though he agrees with much of Trump’s agenda, he cannot stomach Trump. But for most of the other #NeverTrumpers, is it just a coincidence that they also happen to favor Invade the World, Invite the World?

Another question JAG raised without provoking any serious attempt at refutation was whether, in corrupt times, it took a … let’s say … “loudmouth” to rise above the din of The Megaphone. We, or I, speculated: “yes.” Suppose there had arisen some statesman of high character—dignified, articulate, experienced, knowledgeable—the exact opposite of everything the conservatives claim to hate about Trump. Could this hypothetical paragon have won on Trump’s same issues? Would the conservatives have supported him? I would have—even had he been a Democrat.

Back on planet earth, that flight of fancy at least addresses what to do now. The answer to the subsidiary question—will it work?—is much less clear. By “it” I mean Trumpism, broadly defined as secure borders, economic nationalism, and America-first foreign policy. We Americans have chosen, in our foolishness, to disunite the country through stupid immigration, economic, and foreign policies. The level of unity America enjoyed before the bipartisan junta took over can never be restored.

But we can probably do better than we are doing now. First, stop digging. No more importing poverty, crime, and alien cultures. We have made institutions, by leftist design, not merely abysmal at assimilation but abhorrent of the concept. We should try to fix that, but given the Left’s iron grip on every school and cultural center, that’s like trying to bring democracy to Russia. A worthy goal, perhaps, but temper your hopes—and don’t invest time and resources unrealistically.

By contrast, simply building a wall and enforcing immigration law will help enormously, by cutting off the flood of newcomers that perpetuates ethnic separatism and by incentivizing the English language and American norms in the workplace. These policies will have the added benefit of aligning the economic interests of, and (we may hope) fostering solidarity among, the working, lower middle, and middle classes of all races and ethnicities. The same can be said for Trumpian trade policies and anti-globalization instincts. Who cares if productivity numbers tick down, or if our already somnambulant GDP sinks a bit further into its pillow? Nearly all the gains of the last 20 years have accrued to the junta anyway. It would, at this point, be better for the nation to divide up more equitably a slightly smaller pie than to add one extra slice—only to ensure that it and eight of the other nine go first to the government and its rentiers, and the rest to the same four industries and 200 families.

Will this work? Ask a pessimist, get a pessimistic answer. So don’t ask. Ask instead: is it worth trying? Is it better than the alternative? If you can’t say, forthrightly, “yes,” you are either part of the junta, a fool, or a conservative intellectual.

And if it doesn’t work, what then? We’ve established that most “conservative” anti-Trumpites are in the Orwellian sense objectively pro-Hillary. What about the rest of you? If you recognize the threat she poses, but somehow can’t stomach him, have you thought about the longer term? The possibilities would seem to be: Caesarism, secession/crack-up, collapse, or managerial Davoisie liberalism as far as the eye can see … which, since nothing human lasts forever, at some point will give way to one of the other three. Oh, and, I suppose, for those who like to pour a tall one and dream big, a second American Revolution that restores Constitutionalism, limited government, and a 28% top marginal rate.

But for those of you who are sober: can you sketch a more plausible long-term future than the prior four following a Trump defeat? I can’t either.

The election of 2016 is a test—in my view, the final test—of whether there is any virtù left in what used to be the core of the American nation. If they cannot rouse themselves simply to vote for the first candidate in a generation who pledges to advance their interests, and to vote against the one who openly boasts that she will do the opposite (a million more Syrians, anyone?), then they are doomed. The 12th Amendment sets forth a procedure for resolving a disputed election where neither candidate achieves a majority of electoral votes. In that case, a “contingent election” is held by the House: “the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote …”

“Thus, if Pence were to “open” and read the electoral votes cast by both of the competing slates of electors from the six swing states, and choose “not to count” either set—in light of the conflict—the House of Representatives would immediately vote to determine the winner, with each state getting one vote. Given that a majority of states are GOP-controlled (although the Democrats control a greater number of representatives), Trump would prevail.” -Stephen Meister

Lawyer Stephen B. Meister for The Epoch Times wrote “Hopefully, the vice president [Mike Pence] adheres to his oath of office and refuses to “count” either slate of disputed electors, thus sending the matter to the House for a “contingent election” as the 12th Amendment requires“:

On Monday, I wrote on these pages that Vice President Mike Pence, as president of the Senate, would be violating his oath of office were he to count the electoral votes cast for Joe Biden in the six disputed swing states—Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada—because the governors of those states had “certified” the Biden-pledged electors, despite a demonstrably fraudulent election, and in contravention of the wishes of some state lawmakers, which had sent Trump-pledged electors who cast “dueling” votes for President Trump at the Dec. 14 Electoral College.

I referenced a recent case brought by the Amistad Project in the D.C. federal court, which argued that the federal and state statutes allowing the governors to certify electoral votes over the objections of the state lawmakers were unconstitutional and as such void, in that Article II (containing the “Electors Clause”) grants the “exclusive and non-delegable” power to the state legislatures (not the state executive branches) to decide the “manner” of choosing a state’s presidential electors.

The U.S. Supreme Court has expressly held that the power granted to the state legislatures by the Electors Clause is “plenary,” “exclusive,” and may not be “abdicated.”

… Under the 12th Amendment, the vice president, in his constitutionally prescribed role as president of the Senate, is granted the sole power to “open” the electoral vote certificates and “count” them at the joint session of Congress, this year scheduled for Jan. 6.

Pence will be faced with dueling electoral votes for the six disputed swing states, a Biden slate from the governors, and a Trump slate from the lawmakers. The six disputed swing states account for 79 electoral votes. Not counting them, Trump stands at 232 and Biden at 227. Thus, the disputed votes are sufficient to make either candidate a winner, if they are counted, or neither candidate a winner, if they are not counted, since in the latter case neither candidate will reach 270 votes (though in that case Trump would have a majority of the votes counted).

A Contingent Election in the House

The 12th Amendment sets forth a procedure for resolving a disputed election where neither candidate achieves a majority of electoral votes. In that case, a “contingent election” is held by the House: “the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote …”

Thus, if Pence were to “open” and read the electoral votes cast by both of the competing slates of electors from the six swing states, and choose “not to count” either set—in light of the conflict—the House of Representatives would immediately vote to determine the winner, with each state getting one vote. Given that a majority of states are GOP-controlled (although the Democrats control a greater number of representatives), Trump would prevail.

Electoral Count Act Sets Forth a Procedure Entirely Different from that Prescribed by the 12th Amendment

That said, the Electoral Count Act (ECA) provides an entirely different procedure. Instead of a contingent election in the House, the ECA calls for “objections” to be sponsored in both chambers, and if, and only if, the objections carry in both houses are the objected-to electors not counted (in which case a contingent election would take place in the House).

However, if the objection doesn’t carry in either or both houses of Congress, then the ECA further provides that the slate certified by the governor controls, in which case the dispute is thus resolved, and a contingent election never takes place.

The ECA varies the 12th Amendment procedure for resolving disputed electoral votes in three crucial respects:

First, while the 12th Amendment grants no role whatsoever to the Senate, the ECA grants the Senate equal control over objections, as they must pass the Senate and the House.

Second, the ECA provides that in the absence of objections passing in both houses, the slate certified by the governor of the state controls. This is nowhere provided in the 12th Amendment.

Third, by providing for governor-certified slates to be counted even if there are dueling slates of electors—absent objections passing in both houses of Congress—the ECA eliminates and replaces the contingent election procedure set forth in the 12th Amendment, because by virtue of counting the governor-certified slates, the dispute is resolved (though not in the manner set forth in the Constitution, i.e., the 12th Amendment), and never reaches the House (for a contingent election).

Besides violating the 12th Amendment, the ECA also violates Article II, the Electors Clause, because it gives the final say over electors to the state’s executive branch (its governor) while Article II grants that power exclusively, and in a non-delegable way (according to the U.S. Supreme Court), to the state legislatures.

Pence v. Trump?

For these reasons, Gohmert in his suit, proceeds against Vice President Pence, asking for a declaratory judgment and order that directs Pence to proceed in accordance with the Constitution, as reflected in the 12th Amendment, and not pursuant to the contrary, unconstitutional, procedures set forth in the ECA.

The Gohmert suit presents an odd situation. Powerful allies of the president—Rep. Gohmert and the Arizona Trump-pledged electors—are suing the vice president, the president’s running mate. Nor is the suit only directed against Pence as a theoretical or legal matter to add a necessary party.

As The Epoch Times reported, Gohmert’s counsel “made a meaningful attempt to resolve the underlying legal issues by agreement, including advising the Vice President’s counsel that Plaintiffs intended to seek immediate injunctive relief in the event the parties did not agree. Those discussions were not successful in reaching an agreement and this lawsuit was filed. Counsel for the Vice President was promptly furnished a copy of the Complaint and Plaintiffs Motion.”

This leaves the public with an unclear picture on the vice president’s position. Possibly, the vice president intends to follow the ECA, in which case, because the objections will never pass both houses, the “governor-certified” slates will be counted and Biden will win despite the allegations of horrific election fraud. And even though doing so plainly violates the 12th Amendment, which means the vice president, in following the ECA, will be violating his oath of office.

However, it’s possible the lawyers could simply not reach a precise agreement, or that the vice president did not want to be bound to a particular course of action, in advance, and preferred to have a court rule before Jan. 6—taking the vice president off the proverbial hot seat, so to speak.

Interestingly, the vice president had planned a trip to Israel on Jan. 6, and just announced that he is cancelling the trip. Previously, Pence’s Jan. 6 Israel trip left some pundits speculating that Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), who serves as president of the Senate pro tempore, would have run the joint session in the vice president’s absence. However, it would now seem the vice president is committed to discharging his constitutionally prescribed role as president of the Senate at the joint session.

Hopefully, the vice president adheres to his oath of office and refuses to “count” either slate of disputed electors, thus sending the matter to the House for a “contingent election” as the 12th Amendment requires.

I realize the vice president may have further political ambitions, but it would be a tragic mistake to place those personal ambitions above the Constitution, his solemn oath, and the future of the Republic.

I have heard, read and seen some outrageous things in connection with what’s called the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

By “outrageous” I mean things that plainly contradict proven truth.

One is reflexively deemed “obedience” but is demonstrably disobedience to truth.

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)

Therefore, it is always the case that acting against truth, whether inadvertently or willfully, acts against Jesus who is truth in Divine Being.

Catechism nos. 1902-1903 help get into specifics.

1902 Authority does not derive its moral legitimacy from itself. 

         It must not behave in a despotic manner, but must act for the common good as a “moral force based on freedom and a sense of responsibility”:²¹

A human law has the character of law to the extent that it accords with right reason, and thus derives from the eternal law. 

Insofar as it falls short of right reason it is said to be an unjust law, and thus has not so much the nature of law as of a kind of violence.²²

This communication is addressed primarily to those in authority in any capacity, whether Catholic or non-Catholic.

It is that which imparts moral legitimacy to authority that helps us understand whether or not choices by that authority obey eternal law.

Should the choice between earthly authority and eternal law be forced on us, we would always obey eternal law.

The opposite is disobedience toward God, either objective (lacking awareness of that disobedience) or willful (aware but nonetheless choosing disobedience).

Such is the case with any regulation requiring cloth or surgical masks.

     (From here on, I will say only the one word “mask(s)”, but I mean cloth and surgical masks.)

Online open source references to the peer-reviewed published medical literature will be provided on request which prove the medical assertions in this letter.

There is no interpretation here – it is strictly a mathematical-statistical comparison of those who wear masks to those who don’t, or a visual test of mask permeability that demonstrates its own truthfulness.

Peer-reviewed published medical research is what determines right reason with respect to masks.

Right reason in the form of peer-reviewed published medical research proves that masks offer no benefit against small viruses, not even a small benefit.

The lack of benefit makes a mask requirement evil in itself (apart from personal moral considerations), since it is an unjust law not binding in conscience by going against right reason.

This communication focusses not on who to blame, but instead on what’s true about masks, and how we should act to be faithful to that truth, as well as to Jesus, “The Truth”.

While it may seem as if masks should reduce infections, this is in reality an urban myth, an assumption contradicted by proven truth.

Masks do indeed stop large droplets expelled by forceful nasopharyngeal actions, such as coughing or sneezing.

However, large droplets are irrelevant to influenza or SARS-CoV-2 infection because they drop out of the air quickly by Stokes-type settling.

The fact that infection rates are statistically the same for both mask-wearers and non-wearers in the case of both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 means that something other than a sneeze or cough is the key infection vector.

Airborne aerosols are that vector of infection.

Aerosol particles — defined as less than 5 microns in size — are so small that they are drafted by currents for many minutes to hours.

This is especially true when there is induced turbulence from air handling systems.

Aerosols are produced by physiological forces far less than coughing or sneezing, such as breathing or talking.

Aerosols are so small that they go through the fiber weave of masks.         

This isn’t difficult since the fiber weave of masks creates holes that are 60-500 microns in cross-section which easily accommodate aerosols (small viruses are about 0.05-0.15 microns in size.)

Of greater consequence is the fact that masks are unsealed at the edges.

Mask wearers prove this to themselves by observing or experiencing the “foggy glasses” effect on cold days.

Regardless of whether the “foggy glasses” effect is eliminated or not, all mask edges are open pathways.

This provides easy access and egress for virus aerosols that follow air currents, as made visible by an online mask demonstration using smoke-like 0.15-0.25 micron vape aerosol.

Highly penetrating airborne aerosols are the vector of infection, not large droplets expelled during coughing or sneezing.

Those in authority must act consonant with the proven truth that masks provide zero benefit against small viruses.

Authority must align with right reason to be morally legitimate.

Right reason in the form of peer-reviewed published medical literature proves that masks provide zero protection against influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses.

It directly follows that a mask requirement is inconsistent with right reason and the eternal law.

Any authority or other entity (e.g., a business) that does not require masks or lobbies against masks is morally legitimate by aligning with right reason and the eternal law.

In contrast, a mask regulation “falls short of right reason and…is said to be an unjust law…”.

It cannot be over-emphasized that wearing a mask is a type of violation of the 8^th Commandment, a divine command that requires truthfulness in all communications.

That truthfulness must be actively sought; depending on cognitive osmosis or opinion to receive truth is sloth.

This violation of truthfulness is either objective, that is, lacking awareness of the infraction, or willful lying (see Catechism nos. 2482-2487).

Sadly, lying is not absent.

Certain recommendations are presented as scientifically proven when in fact those alleging such have no idea.

For example, the CDC certified the PCR test as being specific to SARS-CoV-2, yet their own report admits that no isolated virus was available upon which to base the test.

There has been a steady drumbeat from media and vaunted “experts” which is counter to reality: For example, “mask up” or risk being labeled a potential killer by asymptomatic virus transfer.

The notion of an asymptomatic carrier is a myth, as indicated by a study conducted on the almost 10 million population of Wuhan, China.

The World Health Organization eventually called asymptomatic carriers “rare”.

How many people saw through the self-contradiction of a personal virus count insufficient to make that individual ill (so-called asymptomatic), yet sufficient to infect any other person?

The constant drumbeat of myths like this convinced most that masks possess a life and death urgency, instead of the unvarnished reality that masks provide zero benefit against small viruses.

In hiding the truth, this whole mask-querade reveals itself to be about something else having nothing to do with health.

Even from within this very solid medical and theological framework, other important questions may arise that should be addressed despite adding significant length to this communication.

What if a person wears a mask knowing it provides no protection against infection by small viruses, such as influenza and SAR-CoV-2?

Wearing a mask cannot be a morally legitimate non-verbal way of saying that masks provide a health benefit toward influenza or SARS-CoV-2.

In fact, there are many serious adverse health consequences to wearing a mask, such as the possibility of facial or nasopharyngeal staph infection.

There are certain situations not elaborated here due to lack of space in which a knowledgeable mask wearer may not be non-verbally implying a benefit to masks.

They have another reason which we will not discuss because it would take the focus off what’s true.

There is no moral solid ground on which a person can say “I know masks don’t do any good, but I wear one to make my neighbor comfortable.”

Our neighbors are owed truth as a matter of charity and justice, not a false signal or false allegation that masks have any benefit.

Deciding against a mask is not primarily an issue of freedom; it is primarily a moral choice for good in accord with truth determined by right reason.

Going without a mask is not anti-social or irresponsible in any way, since it is proven beyond doubt that masks provide zero protection against small viruses.

But this is a highly lethal disease, according to the Center for Disease Control! So, shouldn’t we wear a mask anyway to at least do SOMETHING?

There is a “SOMETHING” which we’ll discuss in a moment.

But you’re better off without a mask even without this ”SOMETHING”.

A recent large scale meta-analysis of the United States by Rational Ground showed a large benefit for non-wearers compared to mask wearers.

Rational Ground is a grassroots group of data analysts, computer scientists, and actuaries.

CDC data shows that almost 80% of a group ill with COVID-19 wore masks always or most of the time.

Even without the peer-reviewed published medical research showing zero benefit to masks, believing that masks do any good in view of these CDC data is simply a bridge too far.

The percentage in the COVID-19 group who seldom or never wore a mask was substantially smaller.

A person is better off without a mask, consistent with the Rational Ground finding.

The general public is at a dreadful disadvantage from being unaware that there’s sometimes a huge leap from raw data to interpretation which may not be correct.

Two things occurring together (such as COVID-19 and death) doesn’t always automatically mean one causes the other; that requires additional proof.

Here is another CDC data set that strains credibility beyond the breaking point.

These data indicate that only 6% of the deaths lumped under COVID-19 are directly “FROM” COVID-19.

94% are deaths are categorized as “WITH” COVID-19.

But note: those 94% have on average 2.6 “co-morbidities” such as terminal cancer, terminal dementia, terminal diabetes, terminal heart disease, etc.

In other words, in 94% of deaths lumped under COVID-19 there are co-morbidities which are known to cause death all by themselves from past years’ (COVID-free) statistics.

Regardless of what these 94% die from in reality, the death is logged as a COVID-19 death, and so COVID-19 statistics are enormously and shamefully inflated.

This is a specific instance of what’s mentioned above: 2 things like COVID-19 and death occurring together doesn’t always automatically mean one caused the other.

In fact, many if not all of these deaths “WITH” COVID-19 are from the co-morbidities themselves, and there’s a simple way to know that.

The best indication is a comparison of the average age of death in the U.S. to the average age of COVID-19 death.

There is no difference.

So, where’s the COVID-19 effect?

It’s not there, and so those deaths are a co-morbidity effect in most cases lumped under COVID-19.

Moreover, there is no medical reason in 2020 for these morbidity factors to decrease in number.

A person with unresponsive Stage IV terminal pancreatic cancer is going to die quickly, and so we should expect that the number of these and other terminal conditions should NOT decrease.

But they have decreased in 2020, and there is no good reason for that.

If deaths from traditional morbidity factors were incorrectly moved into the COVID-19 column, then deaths from these morbidity factors should incorrectly decrease in comparison to previous years.

In fact, they have incorrectly decreased, making the situation look like deaths that should have been attributed to morbidity factors other than COVID-19 were instead attributed to COVID-19.

Calling this an accounting error is being too generous.

If no accounting error were made, these morbidity factors should not decrease.

This insight indicates that death is caused by age-related co-morbidities themselves in the vast majority of cases lumped under COVID-19, as was the case in COVID-free past years, rather than due to COVID-19.

But the CDC decided that every instance where a person was headed toward death from a co-morbidity was a COVID-19 death when the (unreliable and unvalidated) PCR test gave a positive.

Disturbing as this is, we should not be distracted by this from the central truth.

The central truth is that deaths strictly “FROM” COVID-19 is a much smaller number (for example, 6% of 400,000 is 24,000, and deaths attributed either “FROM” or “WITH” COVID-19 will not exceed 400,000 for the year.)

This does not deny that people genuinely contracted serious cases of COVID-19, and some died.

It merely says that the narrative of hundreds of thousands of deaths is a sizeable exaggeration by a verified accounting error.

However, there is much that can be done to protect oneself, whether the number is 400,000 or 24,000, a subject we’ll address in detail in a moment.

But first realize that a mask is not only useless, it’s harmful mind control (as well as physically harmful).

Misplaced belief in a mask impedes people from pro-actively searching for truly effective measures or being open to others who present these measures.

Recently, the CDC announced that it would in the future lump together deaths from pneumonia, influenza and COVID-19 (“PIC”) making it virtually impossible to determine true COVID-19 mortality.

They couldn’t make the situation more confusing if they tried.

Therefore, the statistics are at best highly skewed indoctrination that is almost certainly factually unreliable and is designed to be indecipherable.

We now know SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 is no more lethal than influenza, even using highly skewed statistics.

This insight comes from focused studies that determined that the extent of infection is as much as 10 times greater than is generally being measured.

Of primary importance to understanding is realizing that what’s undetected is people who survive.

Every dead body gets reported by a coroner or hospital report – they get paid more for reporting a death as due to COVID-19 –but many survivors go undetected, especially if they have mild cases.

That means that the mortality rate is about one-tenth of what we’re told (just for illustration, influenza-like 0.13% instead of 1.3%).

Speaking of influenza, no less than 10 Randomized Control Trials demonstrate that masks provide no benefit with respect to influenza infection.

A much more recent Danish study on about 6,000 subjects demonstrates that masks provide no benefit with respect to SARS-CoV-2 infection.

But here’s a crucial point: people should not leap to the conclusion that we have no answers for SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19.

We’ve had answers for 6 months or more.

In an effort to herd us in a different direction, what we have is a medical-pharmacological establishment unwilling to deploy those answers that are inexpensive and available in large supply.

In fairness it should be said that there are individual doctors who fight to get their patients proven remedies.

We know of several over-the-counter items that are highly effective as both prophylaxis and cure, not to mention prescription medications as demonstrated by clinical experience in multiple locations.

The mainstream medical-pharmaceutical establishment wants to herd us toward vaccination, and so they do not circulate this information because it would eliminate their control and profits.

The mainstream media and “Big Tech” actively participate in censorship of this life-saving information.

True love of neighbor would start with self-education about these effective measures and then educate others on how to protect themselves by means much more effective than masks.

That’s the “SOMETHING” everyone should be doing to protect themselves against the virus and against medical-pharmaceutical profit-seeking that presents its own medical and ethical dangers.

In reality, what we know about managing this disease is remarkable, given that release occurred not much more than a year ago in Wuhan, China, and given genetic clues that it is manmade.

We owe a debt of gratitude to third world researchers who – free of the vaccine paradigm — searched for and succeeded in finding inexpensive solutions for their people.

What’s in control of the public here that shouldn’t be is enormous irrational fear, instead of the available rational understanding of the virus.

The fear is so great that intelligent people will believe falsehoods like masks, even after seeing solid proof against masks, in order to have something to hide behind to decrease fear.

As a result, psychological trauma and the physical and emotional dysfunction caused by that are the greatest ill effects – far greater than the virus itself.

We are raising a younger generation who would rather commit suicide than live under the perceived threat of this virus.

This condition can only be alleviated by courageous truthfulness, but at the moment courage and truth are lacking.

Given the above facts, it is reasonable to question whether some other hidden factor(s) is the goal of requiring masks.

Or, we could be more specific and say that the Great Reset requires two initial conditions based off a virus myth hyped to be so threatening that it justifies just about anything.

     1/ Complete breakdown of society into chaos and lawlessness which is well underway.

     2/ Political license to impose any measure, no matter how extreme, and violate any tenet of human dignity, no matter how established in tradition and law.

A person who hides behind a completely ineffective cloth or surgical mask and asks God for a cure is sending a mixed message.

The mixed message is that trust in God takes second place to incorrect understanding and flawed human measures, as if God doesn’t hear the prayer.

When Jesus says, “if you ask anything in my name, I will do it”, do we believe it? (John 14:14)

And “these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name…they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover”, do we believe it? (Mark 16:17-18)

But “when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8)

The fact that Jesus found it necessary to publicly ask this question should give us great pause.

Living faith will not be easy.

Shouldn’t we obey government authority?

“Authority does not derive its moral legitimacy from itself.” (Catechism no. 1902 above)

We obey right reason as an expression of the eternal law of the Eternal God, rather than groundlessly obeying authority simply because it is authority.

It is immoral to ask a person to lie in order to obey government authority.

Wearing a mask is evil, even when it’s an objective rather than a willful lie for the person wearing a mask (the wearer lacks awareness of the lie; therefore, the person lacks moral culpability.)

     “A lie consists in speaking a falsehood with the intention of deceiving.” [Catechism no. 2482]

     “To lie is to speak or act against the truth in order to lead someone into error.” [Catechism no. 2483]

It may not be the case, but should it be the case that neither the authority nor the person asked realizes the mask lie, it nevertheless remains a type of lie.

What makes the mask a lie is that it is deceitful in itself, even apart from personal intention.

Wearing or requiring a mask is at best an objective lie (untrue in itself) because right reason is violated in the form of peer-reviewed published medical research demonstrating no benefit to masks against small viruses.

“If rulers were to enact unjust laws or take measures contrary to the moral order, such arrangements would not be binding in conscience.” (Catechism no. 1903, see above.)

Lying is an intrinsically disordered action (Catechism no. 1753); when a person lacks awareness of participating in a lie, the lie still remains untrue in itself.

We must speak in this measured, nuanced way because it is the non-trivial responsibility of authority in this matter to know what’s true and what’s not true.

“By its very nature, lying is to be condemned.” [Catechism no. 2485]

“It is therefore an error to judge the morality of human acts by considering only the intention that inspires them or the circumstances (environment, social pressure, duress or emergency, etc.) which supply their context.” (Catechism no. 1756)

No intention, no matter how good, justifies an intrinsically evil action such as lying.

Unknowingly proclaiming or living under a false premise may avoid moral culpability, but the physical and emotional harm from that false premise remain.

Thus, we call the mask what it is: a lie irrespective of intention and knowledge.

People who know of medical research on masks yet still insist on their use do intend to deceive.

Our medical-pharmaceutical leaders do know of this research, particularly when one of the major pieces appeared in May 2020 in the CDC’s own journal, Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Thus, it can be said with certainty that some people are intentionally lying about masks.

There is no moral solid ground on which a person can say “I know masks don’t do any good, but I’m wearing one out of obedience.”

Obedience is not binding when a regulation is an unjust law because it violates right reason in the form of peer-reviewed published medical research demonstrating zero benefit for masks against small viruses.

Won’t refusal to wear a mask possibly result in churches being closed again?

This question leads to the wrong answer unless one realizes the components of Catholic morality and whether or not they are determinative of good or evil.

The same thing is going to be said about 4 or 5 different ways so that the main point gets highlighted repeatedly.

In moral language, closed churches would be a “consequence”, a form of “circumstance” in the morality of human acts (see Catechism nos. 1750-1761.)

It’s important to distinguish a specific consequence from an intention or choice (also called “object”, or action) in order to correctly express its differing moral character and weight.

A human act is always evil if either intention or choice is evil, or always good when both intention and choice are good (see Catechism nos. 1753-1754).

Intention and choice are determinative of good or evil; consequences are not determinative of good or evil.

Intention and action are strictly our choice, but consequences often are a result rather than a choice.

Thus, consequences are given a lesser moral weight than intention or choice.

Unlike intention and choice (“object”, action), a consequence never determines good or evil (see Catechism no. 1754).

A consequence like churches being closed can at most increase or decrease the good or evil of a human act, but it never changes good into evil or evil into good (Catechism no. 1753).

At the risk of being repetitive: 

     / As a (potential) consequence of not wearing masks, the closing of churches cannot morally justify a mask regulation.

     / A negative consequence can never outweigh the at least objectively evil action of requiring a mask which is a lie because it violates right reason.

     / The requirement of wearing a mask becomes willfully evil when the person issuing that regulation knows that masks provide no benefit against small viruses, or should know.

In summary, the inherently evil requirement of a mask that is a lie in action can never be morally justified to avoid the negative consequence of church closings, no matter how undesirable that is.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

The choice for masks is not legitimately made based on a potential consequence like churches being closed, even if that closing would reduce the moral good of choosing against masks.

The choice against masks is legitimately made by right reason aligned with the eternal law, since masks do no good against small viruses.

Should churches be closed as a consequence of not wearing masks, that is simply part of carrying one’s Cross in order to align truthfully with right reason and the eternal law.

On the other hand, wearing a mask is not a morally legitimate form of carrying one’s Cross precisely because one never takes up one’s Cross through false witness.

Wearing a mask to prevent church closings would be like Jesus alleging He wanted what the Father willed (intention) by testifying to truth (choice/”object”/action) but ultimately avoiding the Cross (consequence).

We cannot be obedient (intention) by testifying to truth (masks do no good) yet attempt to avoid church closings (consequence) by wearing masks that contradict truth.

If we are willing to lie ostensibly to keep churches open, why not lie to avoid any kind of persecution for being Christian?

“One may not do evil so that good may result from it.” (Catechism no. 1761).

One may not contradict truth by action (wearing a mask), or by saying or implying that masks do any good as a strategy for keeping churches open.

No person in any position of leadership, whether governmental or ecclesial or lay or medical, has the authority to overturn the eternal law or side against right reason.

While intention may be to seek the common good, which fulfills the first of two moral requirements placed on the legitimate exercise of authority, the second requirement is not fulfilled (Catechism no. 1903, above).

Asking people to lie by requiring a mask fails to employ “morally licit means to attain it [the common good]”, as if the mask does any good when peer-reviewed published research proves no benefit against small viruses beyond any doubt.

     (Masks have a myriad of other negative effects which space does not allow us to enumerate.)

Such failure to satisfy both requirements is illegitimate exercise of authority which the Catechism rightly labels as “shameful abuse” that “would not be binding in conscience.” (Catechism no. 1903, above)

In this instance, the shamefulness of a mask regulation comes in when authority requires masks, either knowing that they provide no benefit, or failing to know what they should know as a person in a leadership position.

Authentic obedience is exercised toward truth with love of the Divine Source of all truth AND constant effort to acquire truth, while not being cowed by power or falsehood or the threat of negative consequences.

Authentic love of neighbor is exercised by educating oneself about truly effective means of virus prophylaxis or cure, preferably over-the-counter, and then sharing that knowledge, rather than relying on completely ineffective masks.

In summary, a mask requirement operates against the truth required by the 8^th Commandment, that is, disobedience of eternal law by violating right reason.

No governor, mayor or other government official, nor any Bishop, Priest or Lay church official has the authority to overturn the eternal law or disregard right reason, nor suggest any strategy that violates right reason.

Leaving masks as a personal choice is not a moral violation when the person lacks the ability to understand research results and/or lacks the requisite facility with right reason.

However, we owe them the truth even when they can’t understand the conclusive evidence against masks, and even when they won’t accept it.

That truth must come through Church clergy especially, although everyone is obligated to follow Jesus by testifying to truth as He did.

This letter focusses on the objective moral aspects of scientifically proven results applied to a church environment.

This letter doesn’t cover all issues the average person faces who chooses either to wear a mask or not against unjust societal pressure.

This letter doesn’t primarily focus on which specific persons in authority are morally culpable and which aren’t but instead focusses primarily on objective medical-scientific truth.

However, in the case where a person in authority either knows how useless masks are or should know as a part of leadership, yet requires them, that is where moral culpability enters in.

Today, the BRP news outlet reported that President Donald Trump declared that the “Georgia’s 2020 general election and upcoming Senate run-off elections… [is] “illegal and invalid” because “the Georgia Consent Decree is Unconstitutional & the State 2020 Presidential Election is therefore both illegal and invalid”:

In tweets posted Friday evening, President Donald Trump accused Georgia’s 2020 general election and upcoming Senate run-off elections of being “illegal and invalid.”

He argued that Georgia’s entire election process has been corrupted, meaning that any elections that have occurred or will soon occur in the state are by default invalid.

 In making his case, he cited Georgia’s consent decree.

The United States are in the midst of an ongoing political dispute of historical proportion, and there is a maelstrom of verbiage on line and in the mass media about it. Robert Heinlein, a retired naval officer and noted author, is famous for many things, but the pertinent quote I have in mind is “What are the facts? Again and again and again – what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what “the stars foretell,” avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable “verdict of history” – what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your single clue. Get the facts!”

So, what are the facts?

The facts are that a very large number of persons, many affiliated with the Democratic Party, and some unknown, have engaged in election fraud. From registering illegal aliens, to manufactured ballots, to discarding and failing to count Republican absentee ballots, to blocking Republican poll watchers, to tampering with electronic voting machines apparently with the aid of foreign actors, to wholesale ballot stuffing on an unprecedented scale, among other acts. These are the FACTS. Not speculation, but fact. It is also a fact that the mass media refuse to report these facts, and that Twitter and Google and Youtube among many others are not only refusing to report these facts, but actively blocking individuals who attempt to speak out about these crimes.

These are some of the facts relating to the recent election. The scope and scale of these fraudulent and felonious acts strongly suggest an ongoing organized conspiracy to subvert the lawful electoral process and deny the apparent rightful winner of the 2020 US Presidential election his office.

There are other facts pertaining to this situation. The fact is that there are multiple cases of those on the Left making public statements that those who support the current President in his attempt to resist what can only be characterized as a coup against him are to be persecuted, prosecuted, and even hunted down and killed. Again, these are facts.

There are various estimates of the magnitude of the fraud committed, which are not factual but informed speculation, ranging from Trump winning both the Electoral College with 290 votes to as much as 400 Electoral College votes, and that the popular vote was his nationwide by anywhere from 3 million to as much as 14 million. The actual magnitude of the fraud and theft committed in this election will likely never be known, but it is beyond objective dispute that the facts that have come to light to date prove that this election is being stolen by the Left.

President Trump has taken action to prevent this coup, filing legal appeals and pursuing legal action to block this theft despite the active obstructionism of the main stream media, on-line social media, and many in the Fourth Branch of government. To date, Trump’s efforts to seek a just resolution have had little effect. Despite the overwhelming factual evidence of massive electoral fraud the Left continue to attempt to whitewash this coup and discredit the legimately elected President, Donald Trump.

The Federal government of the United States was originally constituted as a Representative Republic. In order to ensure to ensure that the rights of the people were protected against infringment, the early constitution was amended to include a written list of things the government was forbidden to do, echoing the Declaration of Independence. Protecting the rights of the governed is the primary function of government, but in the centuries since ratification, the US Constitution has been subverted, attacked and undermined. This current attempt by the Left and the Fourth Branch (the Swamp or the unelected bureaucracy) to steal this election is the most recent and most blatant effort to subvert the Constitution. The Left wishes to finally and permanently make Americans into subjects by means of subversion, intimidation, threat, and overt violence.

Those on the Left would benefit from the political power that they think they would hold, and their allies and co-conspirators in the Swamp, judicial, legislative, executive, military, and bureaucratic would likewise benefit by continuing their looting of the American public. One could go on for hours or even days outlining the specifics of the violations of the intent of the Founders, and the beneficiaries of these various Constitutional infringments, but there is neither need nor time for such a lengthy recitation. The reality is that the recent thuggery by the Left and their fellow travelers is an attempt to make the Constitution moot, to finally destroy any remaining vestige of a restraint on government power, and to place the power of government completely in the hands of the Left, wrapping Marxist philosophy in the mantle of legitimate government.

So. Here we are. These are the facts, and this is the situation. There is much that can and should be said and discussed about the present situation, but as I see it, the next and most essential question we each must now ask ourselves is:

Are we better off fighting to defend the properly elected President of the United States of America, to defeat this ongoing coup against the Constitution and the domestic enemies who aided and abetted it, or are we better off staying home, burying our guns, letting the Left complete their theft, and fighting the Federal power in the hands of the Left, as persecuted outsiders?

How each of you reading this decide to answer this question will determine the course of history. Will the domestic enemies of the US Constitution complete the destruction of the Document and the subversion of the American Republic, or will 70 million Americans fight so that those on the Left are defeated and held accountable? Make no mistake, there are no good choices. We are well past the point of having good options.

If we choose, as liberty loving people, to resist this communist coup, there will be blood. The Left has promised, and proven, violence if their coup is resisted. Many may die, patriots, tyrants, and innocents caught in the middle in the next few months. Some of us reading this may die. Some of our wives and children may die. The Union may fracture, perhaps irrevocably. The fabric of America will be irrevocably changed, and not for the better. This will start a civil war, and nobody truly wins in such a conflict. Isn’t the alternative better? If we just give in, won’t the Left leave us alone? What does history tell us?

If we surrender without fighting, as the Left is desperately urging us to do, then history tells us what happens next. Just as in Russia after the Revolution, or Germany when the National Socialists took power, or Venezuela, or in every other country where the Left has stolen the power of government, without exception, Liberty loving folks will be progressively and relentlessly hounded. Using the full force of the Federal government, initially in the ‘blue’ states, but increasingly everywhere, the Left will attack anyone they view as their enemy. Trump voters will be targeted, small businesses will be obliterated, the middle class will be but a memory, and any attempt at resistance will be crushed by the Left using the mechanisms of the Federal government. If you thought that the FBI, the IRS and the EPA under Barry Soetero were bad, then just wait and do nothing, and see what happens next.

States that voted for Trump will receive disproportional attention; denial of revenues, increased regulatory attention, investigations and harrassment of state legislators, and targeted violence and assassinations of influential state politicians. Self defence will be made a Federal crime and the means for self defence likewise criminalized. Worse, there will be no chance of change for the foreseeable future; once having stolen control of the Federal authority, the Left will never permit any repetition of Trump’s 2016 Federal victory, and all subsequent “elections” will result in victory by the Left. Just as in communist Russia, socialist Germany, and progressive Venezuela.

Should Trump fail to use the Insurrection Act, or his 2018 Executive order to smash this coup and if We The People do not wholeheartedly support him if he does, then rest assured that once the Left gains power, they will not hesitate to use these instruments, and others, together with the entire mechanism of the Federal government against their enemies. Against us. The Left has promised this, and can be expected to deliver. There will be no peace, should we fail, except the peace of the grave, and those not killed will be slaves to the Left, allowed to live on sufferance, and the Left will ensure that the survivors suffer. These united States will become Portland Oregon writ large.

I see no other realistic alternatives before us. We all will die someday. Either we run the risk of death in a hard fought civil war or we surrender and face the certainty of oppression and death by the Left, backed by the power of the Federal Government that we surrendered into their hands.

We could have fought for our rights when we could have easily won without bloodshed, but that time is long past.

We are now at the moment when we must either fight, as Americans, for what is right, or surrender to the Left. The simple fact that the Left is bending every effort to divide us, demoralize us and blind us testifies to our strength. The Left would have us think that the odds are against us. Perhaps they are, but when shall we be stronger? Will it benefit us to give the mechanisms of the modern State, with all their potential for tyranny, fully into the hands of the Left? Will we doom ourselves to having to fight without any hope of victory?

Though it is not given to us to see clear victory ahead, nor can we predict the outcome, I recall over 50,000 enraged Americans descending on the Mall in DC to reopen the monuments spitefully closed by Barry Soetero. When the WW2 veterans were scheduled to come and see their memorial, tens of thousands of patriots and veterans, in violation of the law, and despite regulations forbidding it, opened the monuments and made those visits happen. I saw police cars bounced. I saw hundreds of DC police backing away rather than confront massive grass roots resistance. I saw thousands of people cheering those aged World War 2 survivors, who fought for our country. I saw thousands of people stopping traffic and piling up Barrycades around the entrances to the Spite House. I recall that, for a little while, the spirit of American independence showed itself.

And the Left recall that, too. We are far stronger than we know, stronger than the Left want us to be.

If on January 6^th, the US Congress is allowed to count the fraudulent votes to illegitimately install Joe Biden as President, then we will be moving perilously close to that moment when we will have to fight with little hope of victory. I hope to see at least a million people answer President Trump’s call to come to DC on January 6^th and demonstrate to the Left what will happen should they aid and abet the Left’s attempted subversion of the Constitution and their attempt to overthrow the legitimate government of these united States.

As the schoolmasters at Boston Latin said the morning of April 19, 1775, “Deponite Libros”. It is time to put the books down. “The election of 2020, like the election of 2016, was hard fought and, in many swing states, narrowly decided. The 2020 election, however, featured unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations and lax enforcement of election law, and other voting irregularities.

“Voter fraud has posed a persistent challenge in our elections, although its breadth and scope are disputed. By any measure, the allegations of fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election exceed any in our lifetimes.

“And those allegations are not believed just by one individual candidate. Instead, they are widespread. Reuters/Ipsos polling, tragically, shows that 39% of Americans believe ‘the election was rigged.’ That belief is held by Republicans (67%), Democrats (17%), and Independents (31%).

“Some Members of Congress disagree with that assessment, as do many members of the media.

“At that quadrennial joint session, there is long precedent of Democratic Members of Congress raising objections to presidential election results, as they did in 1969, 2001, 2005, and 2017. And, in both 1969 and 2005, a Democratic Senator joined with a Democratic House Member in forcing votes in both houses on whether to accept the presidential electors being challenged.

“The most direct precedent on this question arose in 1877, following serious allegations of fraud and illegal conduct in the Hayes-Tilden presidential race. Specifically, the elections in three states-Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina-were alleged to have been conducted illegally.

“In 1877, Congress did not ignore those allegations, nor did the media simply dismiss those raising them as radicals trying to undermine democracy. Instead, Congress appointed an Electoral Commission-consisting of five Senators, five House Members, and five Supreme Court Justices-to consider and resolve the disputed returns.

“We should follow that precedent. To wit, Congress should immediately appoint an Electoral Commission, with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states. Once completed, individual states would evaluate the Commission’s findings and could convene a special legislative session to certify a change in their vote, if needed.

Biden Steal’s Meaning: Media & “Ruling Class are Liars… [the American People] themselves are Subjects and Not Citizens—Anything But a Free People”

“Expect instead a [liberal and “conservative”] media typhoon of propaganda insisting that the results are all legit, that any anomaly you think you see (or saw) is a “conspiracy theory,” or at any rate innocently explainable by mundane process details too boring to get into… “

He said immediately after the 2020 election night that this election was “the most important one America has [ever] faced” and showed that the Joe Biden Steal is a deadly real “coup” that will kill America as a free nation:

… Throughout the day the president was also outperforming his expected result in key states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. He even, for a time, looked like he was within striking distance in Virginia, a state Hillary Clinton won by five points in 2016. At one point the New York Times’s “meter” had Trump’s chances in North Carolina at 92%. The needle was also sliding in the president’s direction in Arizona and Georgia, among others.

And then, suddenly, the counting stopped in at least five states (or parts of states): Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; all but one with a Democratic governor (coincidence, surely!). When has that ever happened? Well, it happened in Broward County, Florida, in 2018, when a dodgy Democratic election official appeared to be intervening, illicitly, on her party’s behalf. The process only got back underway when the state’s (Republican) governor intervened and had her removed from the process.

But getting back to last night, some time in the wee hours, additional ballots were “found” and added to early totals which had Trump ahead. To no one’s surprise, those votes were overwhelmingly—literally as much as 100% in some batches—for Biden. According to Nate Silver, no one’s idea of a Trumpist, one tranche of 23,277 votes that turned up in Philadelphia were “all for Biden.” Absent some kind of harvesting or fraud (or both), that’s a logical and statistical impossibility.

Through the night, all such ballots came from heavily Democratic areas posting unusually, improbably high turnout. 85% in Milwaukee? A city that turned out at only 61% in 2016, and even with Obama on the ballot in 2012, at 71%? But 85% for Sleepy Joe? According to one report, seven Milwaukee precincts returned more presidential votes than they have registered voters. Turnout in Wisconsin overall is alleged to have been 89.25%, more than five standard deviations for the state’s mean turnout since 1960—another statistical impossibility.

One might also wonder why this urban Blue wave materialized only in close states. Milwaukee was way up but not Cleveland? Philly but not St. Louis? Granted Ohio and Missouri are Red, but their big cities aren’t.

How It’s Done

We’ve seen this movie before. This is how they beat Scott Walker in Wisconsin in 2018, Tom Foley in Connecticut in 2010, and Norm Coleman in Minnesota in 2008.

Why stop the count? Because that’s the only way to know how many votes you need to “win.” Sure, you can just brute force things by backing up a truck full of ballots. But that looks bad. You might even end up counting more votes than there are registered voters in the state. Better to eke out a narrow win. As Joseph Kennedy, Sr. allegedly said to his second son, “I’m not paying for a landslide.”

Speaking of the Kennedys, veteran political observer Theodore H. White—in their company on election night 1960—explained how it’s done. In Illinois, the race came down to

downstate (Republican) versus Cook County (Democratic), and the bosses, holding back totals from key precincts, were playing out their concealed cards under pressure of publicity as in a giant game of blackjack….

The AP ticker chattered its keys once more and reported: “With all downstate precincts now reported in, and only Cook County precincts unreported, Richard Nixon has surged into the lead by 3,000 votes.”

I was dismayed, for if Nixon really carried Illinois, the game was all but over. And at this point I was jabbed from dismay by the outburst of jubilation from young Dick Donahue, who yelped, “He’s got them! Daley made them go first! He’s still holding back—watch him play his hand now.” I was baffled, they were elated. But they knew the counting game better than I, and as if in response to Donahue’s yelp, the ticker, having stuttered along for several minutes with other results, announced: “With the last precincts of Cook County now in, Senator Kennedy has won a lead of 8,000 votes to carry Illinois’s 27 electoral votes.”

Later that evening, Kennedy told his friend Ben Bradlee of an early call from Daley, when all seemed in doubt. “With a little bit of luck and the help of a few close friends,” Daley had assured Kennedy before the AP had pushed out the count, “you’re going to carry Illinois.”

Is that what happened last night? Sure looks like it. Plus ça change…

… Stop the Steal

The thing could (but will never) be proved. Those who ran the operation are also in charge of all the potential investigating agencies. There’s zero chance they will use any of that power to uncover their own malfeasance. Think a Biden Justice Department will look into it?

Expect instead a media typhoon of propaganda insisting that the results are all legit, that any anomaly you think you see (or saw) is a “conspiracy theory,” or at any rate innocently explainable by mundane process details too boring to get into. Twitter is already slapping warnings on the accounts of those who point out irregularities. How long before they start outright suspensions?

Will it work? That depends on the president and his allies and what they do. The odds and the forces arrayed against them are immense.

What would I have them do? I’m no expert but the crew at Revolver has some good ideas: (1) challenge the late-night “finds” in the courts; (2) hold rallies in contested states; (3) urge GOP officials in close states to expose shenanigans and, if necessary, to refuse to seat Biden electors in the event of a fake count; (4) mount a campaign to marshal grassroots public opinion in the president’s favor. Convince the people that if in fact the election is in the process of being stolen, the president and his allies are going to fight the steal on their behalf. If middle America wants to prevent this election from being stolen, it will have to be willing to act—now. I know they are willing, but they need to hear from the President and his best surrogates…
